That worked beautifully. Sorry to take so long to respond, but was traveling without my laptop and couldn't make the changes. Love my piCore players and servers! Greatest way to listen to music! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.1.0 LMS Additional File Systems Fail
PCP Team, For quite some time now, I've enjoyed using Raspberry Pi 3B+ and HiFi Berry HATs to build numerous music servers and players for my friends and family. That's a lovely way to experience the music collection put together over the years! Recently after I upgraded one player/server to PCP 8.1.0, I was unable to play some old WMA files in my library. I tried adding the ffmpeg extension from the piCore repository several times, but download always fails. See screenshot. I noticed that this is the only repository that lists ffmepg. Is there another way to add the extension to permit playing WMA files? Thanks for all the hard work creating and maintaining the wonderful piCore universe! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 5.0.0
Im having trouble with built-in WiFi on pCP 3B+ with HiFi Berry DAC+ using Raspberry touchscreen. Worked fine for ~ 1 year and then lost WiFi capabilities. Tried swapping to another 3B+ and same problem with WiFi with touchscreen. Even tried loading pCP v6.0, still same problem. Is there some recent issue with touchscreen? The pCP 3B+ with DAC+ that I swapped out from touchscreen now works fine stand alone with WiFi. Copy of WiFi settings page is attached, after fresh install of v5.0 on SD and then applied HotFix to 5.0.1. wpa_supplicant.conf is apparently loaded and SSID & PSK PW recognized, but WiFi MAC & IP not found . . . Id appreciate any suggestions from the community. I really need WiFi to stream from LMS to my stereo. Thanks! I'm now able to play WMA files on my software players: Squeezeplay on macOS and Linux and using iPeng on iPhone and iPad. I followed the directions from Ralphy but still didn't work for a while. Finally realized needed to turn off PlayWMA plug-in on LMS. Once I did that, the WMA files in my library will play on all the devices! Wonderful software and great way to enjoy music all around the house! Thanks again for piCorePlayer and Squeezelite! Thanks Ralphy. I appreciate your help with this issue. I followed the directions and installed both pcp-ffmpeg.tcz and pcp-lame.tcz and also placed the custom-convert.conf file (without .txt extension) in both of these locations: /mnt/root/slimserver/ and also /mnt/root/slimserver/cache/templates/usr/local/slimserver with the rest of the LMS data on piCoreServer. Also ran the command to make changes persist. Still no success. Did I put the custom-convert file in the right location? Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas! I tried the option to upload custom-convert.conf file and couldn't get it to work properly. I used the file downloaded from Ralphy, both with and without the .txt extension. Every time I got an error message that it "must be a text file." What am I doing wrong? Yes, the normal WMA files play just fine on SB3, Boom, and the 2 PiCorePlayers in my system. Only have problems with these files on software players: Squeezeplay on Mac or Linux computers or iPeng on iPhone or iPad. Would be nice if theres a way for server to transcode the WMAs to play them in that situation. Otherwise, the LMS system extended now with PiCore players and servers is wonderful way to enjoy my music! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 4.0.0
Thanks to the Team for great software and the continuous improvement of piCorePlayer and Squeezelite. Really great way to enjoy the music! After running LMS on Windows and Mac machines for a number of years, Ive now moved on to using rPi 3B as server with PiCorePlayer 4.10 and LMS 7.9.2. Everything works fine and all files play smoothly for SB3, Boom, and 2 x pCP players with HiFiBerry DACs. However Im having trouble playing WMA files only on SqueezePlay and iPeng. Always get error message Cant play File . . . even though have installed FFMpeg libraries on server. Tried to enable Play Windows Media plug-in in LMS but get error message that mplayer not installed. Is that whats needed to convert WMAs to play on Squeezeplay and iPeng? Looked for mplayer in extensions for piCore, but didnt find it . . . I would appreciate any suggestions on how to correct this problem.
