It looks like there is a DNS resolution problem. Try to log in via SSH
on to your secondary storage VM and see if you can ping/access
releases.ubuntu.com from there.

My settings

If you are trying to register the ISO as Admin then the allowedinternal

org.libvirt.LibvirtException: operation failed: drive hotplug is not supported

2014-05-01 Thread Andrija Panic
Hi,

I'm getting errors when trying to attach new DATA disk to a running VM... :

I had to replace CentOS 6.5 libvirt 0.10.2 with manually compiled libvirt
1.2.3 in order to support RBD as storage... this is CS 4.2.1 on CentOS 6.5..

But now I'm getting errors when trying to attach new DATA disk to a running
VM:

org.libvirt.LibvirtException: operation failed: drive hotplug is not
supported

I can't really remember if this disk hotplug did work at all even on stock
libvirt..

Any suggestions ? I checked all the options during the ./configure phase of
libvirt, and did not notice any references to it...it should be supported
as from 2009 in some of the patches for libvirt...

Thanks,

My problem is that I can not see my actual physical nic that is
connected to the public wiring when I go to add a new guest network.
Why is this? The physical nic for public access is working because I can
dowload templates and your the console proxy. I just can't figure out
why I can't see it. I'm trying now adding new network services with the
cloud-public tags hoping that it will make the public address show up
while adding a guest network

On 04/28/2014 05:35 AM, Geoff Higginbottom wrote:
 Matthew,

What you want to achieve is very possible, it's just the terms used can be a
 little confusing.

I believe you want to create a new network which will assign 'public' IPs
directly to Guest VMs.  In CloudStack, the 'Public' network is only used by
System VMs and Virtual Routers so you have to create a new Guest Network
which used a new Public IP Address Range and allow Guest VMs to use it via a
 Shared Network.

What you need to do is create a new 'shared' network, which will in fact be a
'guest' network, but the Virtual Router will only provide DHCP, DNS, and
UserData services, and will not act as an actual Router.  Routing will be
provided by a physical Router/L3 Switch.

 1.  Allocate a new IP range and VLAN ID on your network infrastructure which
will pass Internet Live 'public' IPs down to the HyperVisors is a similar way
the CloudStack Public Traffic is handled.
 2.  Identify which CloudStack Physical Network this VLAN is mapped to, this
will be needed in step 5
 3.  When creating the new Network, set the scope to either 'All' (every user
in the Zone) or a speciic Account or Domain (I'm guessing you want to use the
 All option)
 4.  Ensure you have chosen the Network Offering of 'Offering for Shared
 Networks'
 5.  Ensure you chose the 'Physical Network' which your new IP range is mapped
 to
 6.  Enter the VLAN ID used in step 1
 7.  Enter the appropriate IP information in the Network Offering, note the
IPv4 Gateway will be the IP of the Physical Router/L3 Switch which is
terminating the new Public IP Range

OK, I admit that I am lost and do not know what the procedure is to creating
 a network service.

I would like to have a public address assigned to my VM's using CS4.3 and
xenserver. I don't need a guest network on this first /28

Can someone tell me the required steps? I've tried and had no luck.
Maybe I'm making this too hard and it should be easy.

I click on Network Add Guest network

I understand all the options there but the main problem is that on physical
interfaces is only lists one of my guest nic's and not my public one. What do
need to setup so I can select the public nic and then continue with the rest
 of the fields as needed.

Realhostip Replacement

2014-05-01 Thread Francois Gaudreault

Hi all,

I understand that this dependency has been fixed in 4.3, but if we
require SSL, we need to do our own DNS integration, correct?

We were thinking to provide a community-wide service to replace
realhostip. Would that be something the community would use? Basically,
you provide the SSL cert, we provide the DNS resolution piece for your
domain.

That was the plan, yes. I guess we could have a signup page just to
avoid abuse, but at the end it's something easy to do.

Offer HA for VM

Hi,

I'm wondering, after I create Compute Offer with Offer HA enabled (using

can a user disable HA for onesome particular VM ?

It's unconvinient, because VM must be shutdown only from cs GUI, not from
inside the VM, and user might want to disable HA for some VM...

Hi,

I'm wondering, after I create Compute Offer with Offer HA enabled (using

can a user disable HA for onesome particular VM ?

It's unconvinient, because VM must be shutdown only from cs GUI, not from
inside the VM, and user might want to disable HA for some VM...

Thanks,

You can also do it on per vm level, without service offering upgrade.
Check out ³updateVirtualMachine² command, haEnable parameter

Re: Realhostip Replacement

Just in case people haven't noticed this yet, the SSVM uses
realhostip.comas well for transfers between zones. So don't forget to
change that too.

That was the plan, yes. I guess we could have a signup page just to
avoid abuse, but at the end it's something easy to do.
