Thanks Dean,

I was trying not to use a client's actual range and made a mess of it. The
real cidrs don't overlap, they're more like 10.14.0.0/16 and 10.17.0.0/16

The message I get back is that the cidr 10.14.0.0/16,10.17.0.0/16 is not a

192.168.2.0/16 are actually the same cidr? You are passing the same address

You would need to look at logs to work out how this happened, but to fix it you
would simply need to find the affected instances in the cloud.vm_instance table

  Hi,

I’m trying to create a site-to-site VPN but the CIDR entry:
192.168.1.0/16,192.168.2.0/16 is being returned as invalid.

The documentation says that CIDRs should be comma separated, does anyone
know why this isn’t working? Just using one or the other works fine.

LXC Tips and Tricks

2014-05-14 Thread Geoff Higginbottom
All,

I am reaching out to the community to see if anyone has any experience using
LXC with CloudStack.

I'm doing some RD in preparation for a potential Production Deployment in a
Zone which will use either KVM or XenServer to run the System VMs, and also LXC.

There appears to be very little documentation around LXC so I was hoping to
consolidate experiences and any best practices people have developed etc. and
eventually adding some content to the Docs or Wiki (or both)

Re: Public networking VR fails to start

If you are able to delete the VR from UI, there is no need to do any clean

subnet mask for your network offering.

System VMs gets a public IP, can you ping that IP from your local network?

Re: Increase capacity

2014-05-14 Thread Timothy Ehlers
Its broken in 4.2, it trys to adjust the number of currently running VMs
somehow... so for me it would say 100% CPU used changing overpovisioning
to 4 would simply change my system to show 400% CPU used

Destroy all vms and recreate them after changing the overpovisioning on the
cluster level. Or mess about with the sql tables... i gave up on messing
about with mysql since my infrastructure is very dynamic and easy to
re-create.

 Dear, users.

I wanna to increase system capacity, specifically cpu.
I'm using CS 4.2.0 with vmware 5.1, when zone was created parameter
 cpu.overprovisioning.factor is equal to 1.
I tried to change it, but to no success.
Also tried to change the value in the table host, but also without
success, after restarting cloudstack-management returns the old value.

Maybe someone faced with this situation?

 Thanks!

Re: using cldstk-dploy with proxy

2014-05-14 Thread Antone Heyward
It should work as long as yum is configured to work using the proxy but
this has not been tested. I be interested in your feedback if you test it.

The cldstk-deploy tool is for the most automating the installation using
ansible. There is also what I call a local installation type which
creates a webserver/repo using nodejs but that's only for the cloudstack
packages and systemtemplate to speed up multi system installs. You still
need the Internet though for yum to install other packages and
dependancies.

I don't know the script in detail just briefly glanced over it.

It looks like it should work if you

 1) Set the proxy for yum. Modify /etc/yum.conf add in
 proxy=http://whatever:port
 2) Modify /etc/bashrc and do exports for http_proxy and https_proxy
 3) Modify /etc/wgetrc and do http_proxy=http://whatever:port and use_proxy

Re: Console Proxy still not using HTTPS

2014-05-14 Thread Владислав Старков
After I added domain name to Global setting key
consoleproxy.url.domain, it seems the JavaScript program in pop-up
window now started sending request to HTTPS and proper domain name is
used. However there is a drawback, the console proxy not working
anymore.

Is it possible, that something wrong with SSL certificate that I've
uploaded to CloudStack (I suspect that the issue can be in
certificate's passphrase)?

Thanks

Subject: Console Proxy still not using HTTPS

 Hi,

I've install SSL certificate to enable HTTPS for Console Proxy VM, as
 described on
 http://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/projects/cloudstack-administration/en/latest/systemvm.html#console-proxy

However my Console window still connecting to Console Proxy VM through
 unencrypted HTTP.

The question is, how to force it to use HTTPS?

 Thanks.

Importing Intermediate CA

2014-05-14 Thread Michael Phillips
All,
Is it still necessary to follow this guide
http://www.chipchilders.com/blog/2013/1/2/undocumented-feature-using-certificate-chains-in-cloudstack.html
if you are importing an intermediate CA? Or can you just use the GUI?

Hi, try to reload CS service and hypervizor.
Why do you want to delete this? If you wanna recreate zone i suggest delete
db and redeploy cs database.
Also i know that there some problem with DB data, you delete something in
CS interface but record still remaining in some table. Look at log file
