[libreoffice-users] Corrupted File
Hi All, I have a corrupted file and it's important, hoping I can recover -- my backup works but it's a month old and it's missing some data, worst case it'll do but I'd prefer getting the up to date one fixed. Error is: Read-Error. Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2,1197863(row,col). When I try opening content.xml with firefox I get XML Parsing Error: duplicate attribute Location: file:///tmp/.fr-lMJsLA/content.xml Line Number 2, Column 1197864: Any suggestions on how to fix this? Not confidential information so I can send it to someone to look at. Re: [libreoffice-users] Ignore system input language
Hi! Okay, I tried to figure it out. If I use Ctrl+space to switch the input method, LibreOffice (LO) will follow the input method on Windows 7. For example, if I use a Traditional Chinese (TC) input method, the language of the characters will be marked as TC in LO. If I use a Simplified Chinese (SC) input method, the characters will be marked as SC in LO. If I check "Ignore system input language", I will expect LO to ignore the latest input method provided by Windows 7. However, this does not work. No difference is visible. LO always use the language specified by the input method. (If the input method is TC, the characters will always be TC.) On Debian Linux, the language is always marked as the one under the heading "Default languages for documents" in LO. If the Asian box is TC, my SC characters will be marked as TC (even if I use a TC input method). If the Asian box is SC, my TC characters will be marked as SC (even if I use an SC input method). Checking or unchecking "Ignore system input language" does not make any difference on Debian Linux. Regards, C. H. D. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --- 2013年1月5日 星期六,C. H. D. 寫道﹕ 寄件人: C. H. [libreoffice-users] Feature request for impress : sub-second accuracy
Hello everyone, Happy 2013! I'm new to this list, so I hope I'm in the right place (please tell me if I'm not). I've been using LibreOffice (OpenOffice before the fork of the project) for several years, and for the first time I would like to suggest a new feature for Impress. Well, actually it's not exactly what you would call a new feature, but rather a refinement of what's already possible. So here is my suggestion/request : I'would be very happy to have the possibility of setting display durations with sub-second accuracy in LibreOffice Impress. For instance, setting automatic slide transitions after 250, 333, 500, 666 or 750 milliseconds, but also 1.25 second, and so on... This would be really useful with regard to one of the uses I make of Impress, i.e. creating simple tools for the training of visual attention and other cognitive abilities in children. I'm not a programmer at all, so I can't modify the software myself to satisfy my needs. I'm looking forward to reading from anyone regarding this suggestion! Thank you for your attention and for any feedback! Have a nice day! JP Richir P.S. Please excuse me for any mistakes in this message, English is not my first language. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-users] Table of contents and page numbers
I keep it in 'edit mode' until I'm finished; seems to work best than switching between these - well, I figure the switching might confuse the computer; and I probably confuse it too much - and irritate it by referring to it as a 'glorified typewriter' ;-) On Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 3:27 AM, federico quadri wrote: I have noticed this thing too: TOC update is not possible in "web layout" > viewing mode. Re: [libreoffice-users] Collate print option not working - Solved for Epson Printers
Background: There has been a number of threads about duplex problems printing from LO. On an Ubuntu 64-bit 10.04 and 12.04 OS, an Epson Artisan 810 printer would not duplex, while the HP 2300dn laser would, when printing from LO Writer. The Artisan will print duplex using the default PDF reader or all of the other packages installed in the Ubuntu computer. Solution: Here is the solution that was made for the Artisan printer. First I installed 3 different drivers for the printer to see if any of these would solve the problem: 1] epson-inkjet-printer 1.0.0-1lsb3.2 (Seiko Epson Corporation LSB 3.2) 2] epson-inkjet-printer-escpr 1.2.2-1lsb3.2 (Seiko Epson Corporation LSB 3.2 3] CUPS+Gutenprint (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2) v5.2.7 None of them would print duplex by default using LO. I went to the Options - LibreOffice - Print section and there was nothing there to help. Then I started to go through all of the options. There was one option I did not try Options - LibreOffice - General Print dialogs Use LibreOffice dialogs This checkbox is not checked by default. I decided to try it. Well, it worked. Why using the default setting does not work, I do not know. Why LO does not use the default Print dialogs [for Ubuntu and Windows XP/Vista] like all the other packages do, I do not know. You would think that if one printer works with the duplexing, the other would as well. If LO used the "default/standard" printing dialogs, would it work, maybe. Also for the print driver options: the #2 driver - Escpr driver does not have any duplex option. #1 and #2 do not have any resolution options other than 300 by 300 DPI, while #3 has many, many DPI resolution options. the CUPS+Gutenberg - OpenPrinting - driver seems to have the best color results for all three printer drivers. SO the default in the General dialog does not work for printing duplex for several printers, mine included. Why I did not check this box before? I was told, when LO first came out, to use the defaults and not use the LO dialogs for Load/Save and Printing. Well, it was a simple fix. Whether it would work for the other printers that have duplexing issues, I do not know.
Re: [libreoffice-users] Sorry about my double Post
Hi :) Ahah, thanks Brian :) Grrr, i thought the "nomail" option meant something else. So, where i have advised people to use the nomail option it's better for them to use the digest option instead and then just delete the 1 email per (day, week?). Chances are that most of them were either just totally leaving the lists but were trying to be kind about it. The rest probably figured it out fairly quickly. Anyway, thanks for settling that Brian. R: [libreoffice-users] Table of contents and page numbers
I have noticed this thing too: TOC update is not possible in "web layout" viewing mode. You have to switch to "print layout" to make TOC updating active.
