Figured it out.

I found the stinking screensaver had been set to lock

I must have set the stinker to false 30 times now!

Me thinks I will set it to off in startup if it

Your script produces the expected output on my Fedora 34 system,
listing all the active and inactive repos. Of course, it lists no
RHEL repos, since I do not have any. I also get similar resul;ts in a
CentOS 8 container.

I don’t have RHEL, so I cannot help with that part. You might want to
ask RH for RHEL-specific advice.

Hi Stan,

I have both xfce and mate installed. The issue only happens when I am

Using python to get a list of repositories, including RHEL

2021-11-01 Thread Philip Kauffman
Forgive my ignorance: I'm a long time Debian/Ubuntu user and admin, so I'm not
up on all the things everyone might take to be normal.

My goal is to use a python script to get all a systems repositories in a data
structure (list,dict,whatever). I've gotten most of the way there with the
below which is able to get all repositories in /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo.
However, I can't find any reference to how to also make python3-dnf get the
RHEL repositories as well... even though it is clearly capable of doing so (see
below).

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

#!/usr/bin/env python3
import dnf
base = dnf.Base()
base.read_all_repos()
base.fill_sack()
base.fill_sack_from_repos_in_cache()

# This prints all non RHEL repositories ONLY
for repo in base.repos.all():
  #print(repo.dump())
  print(repo.id)

# This returns an empty list
print(base.repos.get_matching('rhel'))

Yet... when I use the CLI I do get the rhel repos.
# dnf repolist rhel* | awk '{print $1}'|grep rhel

rhel-x86_64-appstream-8
rhel-x86_64-baseos-8
rhel-x86_64-codeready-builder-8
rhel-x86_64-supplementary-8

Here is what happens when you run the script above.
No rhel repos are returned.
# ~/t.py
elrepo
epel
[]  # empty list when using get_matching("rhel")

Cheers,

Phil

I'm sorry, but your emails are really not making sense. I suggest
finding a support group in your native language, which appears to be
French. I believe someone already suggested one. Otherwise, maybe try
directly using Google Translate. I appreciate your attempt to write in
English, but I'm pretty sure at this point, Google Translate would
produce a more understandable result. Maybe even write your question in
French with the translated result as well.

I agree. But deepl.com is even better.

If you need a Remote Desktop like Windows RDP, then VNC maybe the right
solution. If you would like to do a screen share with a remote user maybe
something like Bluejeans or Google Meet would be sufficient.

For doesn't use a screen,

It is for us the program intruder 👍🏼 ,

I suspect the above is the result of translation, so I’ll try my best to
understand.

It sounds like you want to use the file browser from GNOME remotely from a
computer with no monitor? It’s called “nautilus” and can probably be used over
SSH but you would probably get a better experience using ssh/sftp.
