[RCU] * Choosing the right Roundcube

2020-09-24 Thread Mario Jorge Lima

Hi,

Adding to a question which had already been asked by another user, I
need some help about:

1) Roundcube has different versions, as for instance:

. Stable Version 1.4.8
. Old Stable 1.3.15
. LTS Versions

Which one should I download and which of these: Dependent, Complete
or Framework?

2) And there are also some Packages. If I download one of the
Versions above, do I need the Packages?

Thanks.

4. set up a secondary domain for the new webmail version

5. As soon as the new version is working as you expect it, shut down
the old version.

Multiple versions can work independently from each other, as they

[RCU] Plugin recipient_to_contact issues

2020-08-24 Thread Jorge Listas

Hi,

anyone knows any plugins that replace recipient_to_contact plugins and it ran
on Roundcube version 1.4.2. May be an updated version of this plugin, too.

I was using this plugin in previous versions of RCU but in version 1.4.2 I
found a problem when I reply or create a message from a new window, after
sending the email, the window to add the new contact is not displayed.

I have detected that in that case, it would appear that the window to add the contact is hidden,
since I have tried to go to configuration and then return to the inbox and "magically"
appears the "lost window" to add the data of Contact.

If I answer an email or write a new one from the main RCU window (that is,
without opening it in a new window) it works correctly.

Another old unsolved problem of this plugin is that after its execution the
"Loading" message remains indefinitely active.

Thanks in advance.

[RCU] Folders for Sent Items / Trash

2020-03-19 Thread Mario Jorge Lima

Hello friends,

Well, now that I found out my RoundCube version (Roundcube Webmail
0.8.1), I need some orientation in order to help my customers.

I have installed since 2009 this old version, and this installation
inhibited the Folders for Sent Items, Trash Items, etc. So they use
it just to read emails out of their offices, eventually answer /
delete them. So they have access just to the mailbox at the Server as
IN Folder.

With this coronavirus crisis, several customers are working from home
and want to use the Roundcube instead of client programs as Outlook.
So my main questions are:

1) In a first moment, how to simply make these mentioned Folders
available to them? Is it easy?

2) Friends, do you think it would be better to take this opportunity
and install a newer version, or would it be too complicated and time
consuming? I would not like to lose all of the settings that Customer
Accounts already have on the current Roundcube.

I thank everyone that could help me in advance.

[RCU] RC version 1.4.2 problems with some attached images

2020-02-07 Thread Jorge Listas
Hi,

Since updating Roundcube from version 1.3.6 to 1.4.2 I have problems with
some emails from GMAIL generated from a mobile phone with an attached image.

When viewing the email, Roundcube does not detect that it has an attachment,
but if I reply or forward that email it does.

I have detected that the problem appears when the attachment has a
"Content-ID:" valued header and is not used as an inline image.

For example, if the attached image is defined like this, Roundcube does not
detect the attachment:
Content-Type: image / jpeg; name = "image1.jpg"
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename = "image1.jpg"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-ID:

On the other hand, if it is defined without Content-ID, Roundcube does
detect the attachment and preview the image:
Content-Type: image / jpeg; name = "image1.jpg"
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename = "image1.jpg"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Has anyone had this problem? Could you solve it? Is it a program problem or
something that I have configured incorrectly?

Thanks in advance.

Jorge

[RCU] Problem with jpg Attachment

2020-01-20 Thread Jorge Listas
After updating roundcube to version 1.4.2 I started having problems with
some emails that have attachments.

Particularly the problem appears when an email has a jpeg image attached but
not with all jpeg images but only with those that have the "Content-Type:"
defined as "image/jpeg;" or as "image/jpg;".

Inexplicably (for me) if I modify the email and change only:
Content-Type: image/jpg;
by:
Content-Type: image/*;

The attachment is recognized by RoundCube.

Is there a way to change this behavior? Maybe making changes to the config.

For example I have defined:
$ config ['mime_types'] = 'E:
/wamp64/bin/apache/apache2.4.33/conf/mime.types';

and in particular, that file defines:
image/jpeg jpeg jpg jpe

Can't i have the logo set, and use another favicon.ico in the server root?

Putting a "favicon.ico" in the root, i always have the logo defines as the

How could i set this differently?

Please, read the question again.

Answer: Since PHP 5.6 self-signed certs aren't accepted by default. You need
to use imap_conn_options/smtp_conn_options in Roundcube config. See
defaults.inc.php for some examples.

configuration?

Subject: [RCU] Update 1.4.1 released

Dear subscribers

Short time after the release of the stable version 1.4.0 of Roundcube
Webmail we already publish the first service release. With the recent
release we missed to mention a few breaking changes since the last stable
version 1.3. We apologize for this and are now clarifying and correcting
these:

Breaking changes

(since 1.3.x)

* new defaults for smtp_* config options:

Upon many requests and in order to get closer to the default setup of most
SMTP servers, we changed the defaults as follows:

// SMTP port (default is 587)
  $config['smtp_port'] = 587;

// SMTP username (if required). %u will use the current username for login
  $config['smtp_user'] = '%u';

// SMTP password (if required). %p will use the current user's password
for login
  $config['smtp_pass'] = '%p';

* changed default password_charset to UTF-8:

Because of many complaints, we decided to choose a more sane default that
covers most setups and configurations.

* login page returning 401 Unauthorized status:

The new behavior that Roundcube 1.4 returns a 401 status code if the client
is not authenticated apparently was very unexpected and lead to monitoring
problems. Despite not having mentioned that change in the release notes, we
now partly reverted it so that 401 is only returned on login failures but
not on the first request to Roundcube which by definition is unauthorized.

Besides these three major concerns we heard from your much appreciated
feedback, we fixed a number of nasty bugs that sneaked into the 1.4.0
release. See the full changelog in the release notes on the Github download
page [1].

This release is considered stable and we recommend to update all productive
installations of Roundcube with this version. Download it from roundcube.net
  [2].

Please do backup your data before updating.

We'd also like to thank Phil for his steady efforts to keep our website
up-to-date. Your work is much appreciated!

Best,
Thomas & Alec

but the suggested changes are applied to the 1.3.6 version that I use.

I will check near this piece of code.

[RCU] Truncated filenames of attachments

2019-08-21 Thread Jorge
Hi All,

I use Roundcube version 1.3.6 and I have problems with the attached files
whose name is quite long (more than 90 characters).

When downloading them the name is truncated to the first 91 characters and
not including the extension, which is usually difficult to open correctly.

For example:

A23456789B23456789C23456789D23456789E23456789F23456789G23456789H23456789I23456789J23456789K23456789L23456789M23456789N23456789O23456789P23456789Q23456789.txt

when downloading it RoundCube shows it to me as:
A23456789B23456789C23456789D23456789E23456789F23456789G23456789H23456789I23456789J23456789K

truncated to 91 characters and not including the extension.

Has anyone had such problems?

Is there any way to fix it?

[RCU] Strange sieve script

2019-06-21 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I've seen some some time and in distinct users, a redirect script been added
to an email that has nothing to do with them.

Maybe it's for fishing or other intention, maybe even espionage, which is
real nowadays.

Did anyone saw this in your users?

I catched this in a regular "mailq" investigation for problems

Ok I see what you want, and it may be handy to know in the headers the original
IP.

For general public, I've been some users account being hacked, maybe with brute
force have no idea, and the spammer logged in, in Roundcube and sent spam form
there, manually or automatically that I don't know, but it's a fact that is
happening now.

Anyway I'm using the plugin "additional_message_headers", that don't know if
will give you the IP you want, but I'm already inserting that In messages:

$config['additional_message_headers']['X-Remote-Browser'] =
$_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$config['additional_message_headers']['X-Originating-IP'] =
$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
$config['additional_message_headers']['X-RoundCube-Extra'] = "MS Exchange
Project 512bit, partner testing program";

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if there is a way to configure RoundCube to send the
original IP address to the IMAP server, using the ID command.

This is used in Dovecot, to log the remote IP address where the client is
connecting from. and not having the logs filled of connections from "127.0.0.1"

Is it something supported by RoundCube? And if yes, how can I configure it?

Thanks a lot.

Hallo zusammen,

[RCU] Duplicated insert's for sessions in log's

2018-10-17 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I've seen in the logs this info, and i'd like to know what triggers it.

Would it be the same user logged in more than one place? (well the sessid
should be different for sure)

Was the user that closed the browser and opened it again in the same page?

Another reason?

To handle this what would be the best option, insert it using insert ignore
or replace? Or should it be like this?

[RCU] Info about RC/Links/HTTPS

2018-09-11 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I've seen this behavior, on all version and also last stable 1.3.7.

I have HTTPS in the vhost that the webmail is running, everything's fine,
but, if I click an email that has images that are loaded from an HTTP:// url
(without HTTPS) the browser starts telling me that the HTTPS validation
failed with the yellow sign in the padlock.

Question, should an email with non-https url's influence the browser HTTPS
validation?

To get the normal behavior I have to F5 the window.

Here's a raw message from an email that has that behavior:

[RCU] Info for all users

Hi all,

Just an info, not roundcube related but using Roundcube/for roundcube
maints/sysadms.

I've seen in my users, one in a while, some users being hacked in this form:

* Somehow "they" got the user password, the one's I've saw were all
msoutlook users so my guess is that the user got some type or virus/trojan
that send that info to them.
* "they" that info to enter the webmail (not sure if manually or
automatically)
* Ransomware is sent using Roundcube, if you check the sent folders
you'll see emails with .jar attach's (and possible others)

May be handy for someone this info,

Yes, i think this is clear to me. The dovecot server runs a sieve-script for a

I'm helpless, tried different settings with no luck.

On both servers, Roundcube 1.3.3 is running with managesieve 8.7

Is there any plugin for pop3 push?

Even that is a commercial one?

Re: [RCU] Roundcube Display HTML

2018-03-08 Thread Mario Jorge Lima

Hello, Barul,

This error comes when I try to open an email. I can access e see the
list of emails, but when I click on any one I receive this error message.

But, if I go to "Settings >> Preferences >> Displaying Messages" and
clear the "Display HTML" little box, then I can open all the messages.

So I need correct this error, or, at least, have that option
"Display HTML" box cleared as default.

Thanks.

Mario./

I think I responded to similar question recently with:

You have a few options to deal with this

default_host
username_domain
username_domain_forced
login_username_filter
trusted_host_patterns (git-master only)

How to use them will depend on what you want to achieve and your
environment. You can always create a plugin that checks the host before
connecting to it.

Perhaps an outbound iptables firewall rule, so prevent the roundcube

What I want to achieve is, the result of mail . + domain.tld, will result in
two ip's (ex: 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2), I want Roundcube to not connect to any
other than one of this.

Would this be achievable?

Hum which setting is this? Can't find nothing for logs related to password's

Well yes, but now i'm thinking, i have the imap server set to be dynamic
it's filled with:

mail. + domain.tld

ok this option in Roundcube is grrreeeaaattt, but I think it makes people
use my server for webmail! Damn!

How would I tell Roundcube, to connect just to my ip's?
I could do this via iptables but is some shared hosting user wants to
connect to any imap server he would be blocked

[RCU] Unknown user in users table, very odd, possible security hole

2018-02-08 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I have a verrry odd thing happening.

I have an user, unknown, that is in my users table, for a domain that isn't
mine, and never was.

This records keep's having last_login fields updated, so someway he's being
able to login right?

Odd to see that the field after the datetime fields (that is the
failed_login_count) is zero,

Is there any plugin or so to records the IP from which the logins are made?

Where to search for this possible breach?

[RCU] Records in users table

2018-01-27 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I'm curious about something!

Is it supposed to have records in the users table, for failed attempts?

I have a few record for login's that don't belong to me (they're spam
attempts or so, not worried about that.

Try this:

Settings -> Preferences -> Server settings -> Flag the message for deletion
instead of delete

Below that option you also have this one "Do not show deleted messages"
just in case you want to hide the "deleted" messages.

This and the already mentioned `bin/gc.sh` should do it for periodic

In my config I set:

and

Unfortunately that doesn't work. Roundcube don't close session at all.

This big problem for me.

Are there any errors before these?

I see a complete refactoring in newer versions of the library, but they
also changed the API and requirements, so we can't just upgrade.

[RCU] Addressbook and QRCode issue in Roundcube ver 1.3.1

2017-10-17 Thread Jorge
Hi,

I have installed Roundcube version 1.3.1 and I have a problem when in
addressbook I clicks on QR Code button.

When I clicks on QR Code button, the QR Code image is not shown and in log
file I have a lot of lines saying:

PHP Warning: str_repeat(): Second argument has to be greater than or equal
to 0 in (RC dir)\vendor\endroid\qrcode\src\QrCode.php on line 1230

Are there anybody that have same problem? It is posible to solve this
problem?

I ran RC under Windows with PHP 5.6.4

TIA.

[RCU] Scripts added into managesieve

Howdy,

I have some users that got some managesieve scripts automatically, into
their account.

Via the sieve port (2000 or 4190) it's impossible 'cause it's closed to the

Maybe this was inserted with the previous version of RC that I had, that had
almost 4years!! (I know too much)

Did this happened to anyone?

Here an image for general information for everyone.

Don't know the intention of having the emails to these accounts.

why not integrade drobbox into dovecot attachment handling ?, i dont know if
thats already possible, but imho makes more sense if it could be controlled

Yes they’re.

I’ve just redirected them to the syslog ($config['log_driver'] = 'syslog';) to
not have the logs/errors file being big (I’ll forget to clean it), so this way
it’s handled by logrotate without any major change.

In the future I’ll want to have logs in the DB like I had with DBLOG plugin,
need to arrange some time to dig into it,

[RCU] Logs in DB

2017-09-17 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I've updated my RC instalation, and all fine thanks to Thomas&Alec I've
managed to make it centralized across several servers with just one RC
installation.

I had in the previous installations a plugin (that I don't remember the
name), that saved me the:

. Logins (I think)

. The send emails (I'm sure of this one)

In the present moment, what is making this job?

For some reason I'm not seeing it.

Thanks in advanced,

Jorge Bastos

As you can see in the fix for your feature request ticket [1] that is
already in git master, there's no need to save a file for that. The
information is stored in session and the handy function
`rcube_utils::parse_host()` will do the magic of replacing the %X vars for
you.

Best,
Thomas

Thomas,

I'm thinking in a possible workarround until this feature appears.

Can you tell me the place where I could write a file on the server with the
value of %h, and I'll read it in password plugin's config.inc.php
About the PHP code I can do it, I just need to know the best/correct place in
Roundcube to save it.

I'm thinking of saving it with the name "tmpfile" + username + remote_ip + ticks

To make sure there's no colition, but that part I'll handle,

Hi Thomas,

I've filled an issue/feature request in the tracker and Allec as you already
said password plugin should support %h, at least.
I've saw the multi-domain but I'd preffer to have it processing the info
automatic, don't know about the others but my users are not so cleaver!!

I think I'll wait for the %h to be implemented for the password plugin, to
finish my centralized installation!!
Thank you Thomas! :)

[RCU] Dynamic host with password plugin

2017-09-12 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I’m making my multi-server instalation ready, but I’m facing just one small
issue, that is with password plugin.

So, in config.inc.php of it I have:

config['password_db_dsn'] = 'mysql://webmail:bdkddz@192.168.69.222/postfix';

but, as I’m using in roundcube’s config.inc.php “dynamic” host:

$config['default_host'] = 'mail.%s';

Can I have in the password plugin config.inc.php the same variable?

(I can use same user/password/db on both servers for password change)

Hi steve,

Oh, that’s a pretty good idea, so I’ll just set the next auto increment to the
after the last value.

If Alec or Thomas could confirm this would be nice!

In principle sounds like it would work. I don't know the Roundcube data table
structure well enough to know if these are the only changes you would require
there, but in answer to your question about auto_increment you can use:

ALTER TABLE tbl AUTO_INCREMENT = 5;

To reset the auto_increment figure in table B at the end so any new records
start numbering beyond the merged data.

Also see:
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/example-auto-increment.html

Hope this helps.

Steve

Thing is, i have:

And i have users that have contacts on both sides, and the user ID's will
collide.
What I'm thinking to do it:

On install B
update users set user_id=user_id+1;
update contacts set user_id=user_id+1;

and then join this two tables to install A

the database schema is pretty simple, but I'd like an advice/confirmation on
this if possible, 'cause I don't know what will happen when the user_id will
reach the numbers that I incremented, will they collide or it'll check if
the number exists? (I know it's an autoincrement field)

I can always use a very very high value like user_id+1, but don't
like the solution,

Thanks in advanced :)

[RCU] Injected Filters

2017-05-23 Thread Jorge Bastos
Howdy,

I'd had some complaints from a few clients, where they weren't receiving
emails, after a few search I saw that the client had a filter with redirect
for: mailservers...@gmail.com

This happened one, twice, 3 and 4 and 5 times.

I can see that this is global, and it's being injected via Roundcube, using
a week password of the users for sure.

My question is, is this known?

That is not entirelly correct,
Debian may has it disabled on php.ini, but it has a cron script that is

2015-02-02 Thread Jorge Bastos
Hi,

I have a question for managesieve plugin, that is, how could I set a
vacation reply, based an hour interval?

It's possible to do this between date interval, but I have the need in hours
also, to setup a reply in non-work hours.

Is this possible?

Is there a way to change this option for all existing users, like some text

I could just delete the settings for all users, but that's a bit complicated

For this matter, I disabled sorting setting:

$config['message_sort_col'] = 'None';

But don't see any performance impact.

Also enabled cache like this:

$config['imap_cache'] = 'db'; // false
$config['messages_cache'] = 'db'; // false
$config['imap_cache_ttl'] = '30d'; //10d
$config['messages_cache_ttl'] = '30d'; // 10d
$config['messages_cache_threshold'] = 1024;

This account has 12GB, and many many emails, about 60.000 in inbox, and not
counting the ones in the folders.
Is there something else I can do?

Accounts with low quota or emails are fast showing emails/login' in.

[RCU] Question about large emails account

Hi,

I have several users that have 20, 30, or some 40GB of emails, and loading
of emails does not always work and fails, only after some tries.

Question is, should I activate cache to make this work?

If yes, how much size cache will be on the webmail side, only for headers
right?
