This problem addressed in the 1.2 ( next ) JSF specification. In the meantime,
what happens if you set the following context parameter to 'client' in the

2006-01-23 Thread Kasper Hansen
Hi,
I have dataTable with link, so you can enter details of some data. This works
just fine...

But when i hit the back button of my browser and returns to site with the
dataTable and I then click on the link again to enter the details page --> I
have to click it twice, before any action happen!

How do I get it work on the first click?

Jenia popup inside TabbedPanel

2006-01-23 Thread Nikita Shah
Hi allI have a situation wherein I have tabbedPanel having jsp page included on each tab. On each jsp page I have 3 buttons for Add/Edit/Delete . On click on these buttons a popup should come for addint the fields. Now I have used jenia popupFrame for these, it requires the buttons to be inside the h:form element. But the problem is tabbedPanel already have a form tag that is inline(this I could see on viewing page source). So how can I have a form tag inside another form tag. Also I get _javascript_ error for this.Below is my parent jsp page having tabs.<%@ page contentType="text/html"%> <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%> <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%> <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk" prefix="t"%>

No, you've looked in the right places. If there is no documentation
there, then the author of the component hasn't written any. Naughty

In that case, you'll need to ask on the list, or read the source code.
When you figure it out, contributing that info back as a patch to add

So the value binding does "create", it just returns a different value
from the one in 1.0.9?

So what is the expression it is trying to evaluate, and how is the
target method implemented?

Have you tried turning up logging to DEBUG and checking the output for

what you can do is, using the nbuild's clazz
"org.apache.myfaces.custom.tree2.TreeNodeChecked" inside of your

in your jsp page you can use something similar to this:

Regarding usage of tree2 itself I recommend the sample files, which

Volker Weber schrieb:

Hi,

accordeonpanel uses prototype version 1.4.0_pre11 from its own resource,
inputSuggestAjax uses prototype version 1.4.0 from tomahawk prototype
recource.

I don't know exactly how addRecource works, but i guess they will get
included both, with potentially conflicts.

Add resource is basically a resource handler, which loads the needed
resources for given components MyFaces basically avoids that way
duplicate imports.

The resources themselves are loaded from the Tomahawk.jar by a class
referenced from AddResource (this class also is the reason for the
servlet filter in the tomahawk extensions, the filter triggers the
resource loader which serves the javascripts and other resources
directly from the jars).

I woud say you will get potential conflicts because proto messes around
with basic objects at load time and you might get duplicate definition
of classes.

Your best bet would be to reference the Proto lib from myfaces and avoid
your own import of the proto lib or to set a selective if before your
own import to avoid further conflicts.

Also have a look at the accordeon panel implementation in myfaces, it
might be exactly what you need anyway.

My firewall blocks svn over all ports. A good corporate firewall does
packet inspection and can block protocols. SVN uses webdav protocol
which might be blocked in your case. I had our admin open it up but
not everyone has that option.

We'll try to get the sandbox examples added when we get a chance.

Re: inputSuggestAjax and Rico Problem

2006-01-23 Thread Volker Weber
Hi,

accordeonpanel uses prototype version 1.4.0_pre11 from its own resource,
inputSuggestAjax uses prototype version 1.4.0 from tomahawk prototype
recource.

I don't know exactly how addRecource works, but i guess they will get
included both, with potentially conflicts.

Has anyone tested them on the same page?

Re: inputSuggestAjax and Rico Problem

2006-01-23 Thread Volker Weber
Hi Emmanuel,

the fix for MYFACES-871 updates prototype to 1.4.0.

So i guess a update will fix your problem. Unfortunately it seems that
currently no sandbox nightlys are available :-(.

You need to wait until they are back or build them yourself.

Anyway, i'm not sure if it is save to include the prototype library
twice, even if the same version.

  Volker

To my knowledge openrico uses Prototype as well... check your code for
double imports that would be my guess, you maybe have a version clash of

Both are based on prototype, maybe on different versions.
There already is an accordeonpanel which is based upon
openrico in the myfaces codebase, you can find it in the nightlies of
the sandbox.

inputSuggestAjax and Rico Problem

2006-01-23 Thread Emmanuel Jay
Hi all,

I have seen some post going around about problems with inputSuggestAjax and Prototype (MYFaces-871 issue...).

We have our own implementation of an accordeon panel which uses Rico
(with Prototype 1.4.0). This works fine until we try to use the
inputSuggestAjax. When doing that the accordeon panel doesn't work
anymore and the inputSuggestAjax displays an disabled inputText next to
it (and the suggestedItemsMethod isn't triggered). There seem to be
some conflicting JS

Have any of you encountered this problem...

As we do not seem to be able to get a nighlty build for sandbox, I am
not sure if the fix for MYFACES-871 would fix this problem

Thanks,
Emmanuel

RE: Problem with cookies

2006-01-23 Thread David G. Friedman

Hans,

Adding a cookie to the Response
object does not automatically add it to the Request object.  You have to
wait until your page finishes so the client can receive the cookie. Requests
AFTER that will have the cookie.  In your code, I see you setting a cookie in speichereCookies()  but
immediately checking for it in the Request object by invoking ladeCookie() at the end of that method.  The
problem is you just created the cookie in the HttpServletResponse and the client
didn't get it yet.  Remember the Request and Response objects are not tied
together.  Again, the NEXT client
submit should have your cookie set and readable in the Request
object.

Hi Simon,

I think we are not talking about the same problem here. Beside the general
problem of h:dataTable and the spec, I think there's a simple bug in the
implementation of t:dataTable. Perhaps my description of approach 4 was
ambiguous. So let me explain again in detail:

In my opinion perserveDataModel should guarantee the following constraint:
   "dataModel(previous rendering phase) == dataModel(postback)"

(see also [1])

What t:dataTable really does at the moment, is:
1) In rendering phase getAllItems() is called the first time.
2) If preserveDataModel is enabled, t:dataTable calls getAllItems()
!!!one more time!!! to save the data model.

...some minutes later the user submits the form

3) In the postback t:dataTable restores the data model from the
serialized data (step 2) instead of calling getAllItems().
So the current validation phase uses probably the same data as in the
previous rendering phase.

Problem:
But if the dataModel changes between step 1 and 2, the previous
rendering phase still uses the old version, while t:dataTable stores and
restores already the changed one. So preserveDataModel only reduces the
risk. The problem is shifted between step 1 and 2.

I think step 1 and 2 should call getAllItems() only once per request,
and they should use exactly the same data model for rendering and for
storing.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

thx,
Mathias

dataTable -> how to RESET paging after modification of dataTable value

2006-01-23 Thread martin . kuhn

Hi,

I have a dataTable and dataScroller
bound to the dataTable.

I present a list of data  with
the dataTable.

When I use the dataScroller to move
to the second page and I read a new datalist  which has e.g. only
1 row the dataTable diplays no data.

It seems that the actual page is still
the second page.

I tried to notify dataTable  programmatically
(dataTable.setFirst(0) and dataTable.setValue(...);) in an action
listener with no results

Could anybody give me a hint how to
reset the page?

BTW: shouldn't be a check  wheter
the dataTable data / dataScroller

TIA

path) & that then replaces the "old content" & then the XML (J)DOM
object has been changed etc.

How to detect this change is something I have been thinking about.

You could set up the backing bean to be in the session scope so that
the TreeModelBase doesn't have to be created each time. You just have
to update the model then if there is a change to it.

Dear All,

I have some code which if you like I'll post here which basically
renders out any XML file via an underlying JDOM DOM object using tree2.

The problem is that every time I click on a tree element (i.e. a node)
it would appear that the entire visible tree is repocessed & thus if I
have a reasonably large XML document it has to go through lots of jdom
elements etc again & again & again.

Is the tree cached in some way such that only the children of the newly
expanded node need be processed rather than every visible node & their
children?

e.g. if I have a document which has say 10 children hung off the root,
every time I click on an element I see the same 10 root elements being
re-processed & then their children etc.

HiI try to save and load cookies from my Myfaces projekt. I see that I save the cookies in the response but if I load the cookies again I can just find the myfaces cookies but not my ones. Here is the code which I use:
load code:    public void ladeCookie() {    Cookie[] cookies;    FacesContext faces = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();

    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) faces    .getExternalContext().getRequest();    cookies = request.getCookies();    for (int i = 0; i < cookies.length; i++) {
    if (cookies[i].getName().equals(SessionUser.DATENBANK)) {    this.setDatenBank(cookies[i].getValue());    }    }    }

save code:    public void speichereCookies() {    Cookie c = new Cookie(SessionUser.DATENBANK, this.getDatenBank());    c.setMaxAge(-1);    FacesContext faces = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance

();    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) faces    .getExternalContext().getResponse();    response.addCookie(c);    this.ladeCookie();    }

Hope this is enough to find the problem. Thanks in advance.-- mfg Hans Sowamailto:

Re: tree2 set position

2006-01-23 Thread Nicklas Karlsson
Is there anyway to set the position such that when the page isrefreshed, the position is set to the position of the node I have just
clicked on?I am also interested in this. Tree2 doesn't seem to react to AutoScrolling. My tree is so large that running it in clientmode is not feasible. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Click twice on same menu causes stack overflow

2006-01-23 Thread Lefevre, Daniel

Hello,

I uses jscookmenu
for using a dynamic menu in my web application.
Everything works
fine, but, when I use twice the same menu successively, the server got an
endless exception and finally I got a StackOverFlowError. In fact I select a
menu item, let the page display and then select the same menu item again. It
does not occur when I click on another menu item.

This was not the
case with the 1.1 release, but I got it with the nightly build 20051130 and also
with the last one (20060122).

on the screen, I
receive the following stack trace:

Value binding problem in custom controls

2006-01-23 Thread Arshad Ali
If i update my faces lib from 1.0.9 to 1.1.1, then value binding does not create:FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();Application app = context.getApplication();ValueBinding vb = app.createValueBinding
( attributeValue );component.setValueBinding( attributeName, vb );System.out.println( "vb: " + vb.getValue(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance()) );vb.getValue(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance()) returns null with faces
1.1.1 but works fine with 1.0.9
