Re: Help for users@openoffice.apache.org
Me too. My second one came in on 24 May. I notice the others were dated 25 May. \ This is the second message I received. *"Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the users@openoffice.apache.org mailing list. I'm working for my owner, who can be reached at users-ow...@openoffice.apache.org . Messages to you from the users mailing list seem to have been bouncing. I've attached a copy of the first bounce message I received. If this message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe bounces, I will remove your address from the users mailing list, without further notice. I've kept a list of which messages from the users mailing list have bounced from your address. Copies of these messages may be in the archive. To retrieve a set of messages 123-145 (a maximum of 100 per request), send a short message to:> To receive a subject and author list for the last 100 or so messages, send a short message to: > Here are the message numbers:75727617764477237735 --- Enclosed is a copy of the bounce message I received. The first was about 4 weeks earlier. Unfortunately, I did not save the first such message, just deleted it after I determined that my E mail addy was working fine and that nothing appeared to have bounced. Very odd. Hi Andrea, Actually I mistakenly sent the same message to " users-retu...@openoffice.apache.org", realized my error and re-sent the message to "users@openoffice.apache.org" It may not be an important issue for the group, but I'd still like to know why I am getting the message from "users-return". I rarely post to the group but enjoy reading and learning about issues. According to "users-return" I am not receiving all the messages, is that correct? Is every message that is posted to the support group being monitored for receipt by every member? btw, I've checked my spam folders and have not found any users@openoffice.apache.org emails inadvertently sent there. Why would some messages not be received when others are? "Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the users@openoffice.apache.org mailing list. Johnny Rosenberg Correct, typing "=a1:a5" is NOT the same as "=SUM(a1:a5)". If this doesn't help, then the next question is whether other formulas display the formula or the value? If they also display the formula, then go to this menu path: Tools > Options > Calc > View Then under "Display", see if "Formulas" is selected (checked) or not. If it is selected, than that's your problem -- just un-check the check box. If it is not selected, then I'm at a loss as to what's going on, but probably someone else on this list can offer a good suggestion. --- List Conduct Guidelines: http://openoffice.apache.org/list-conduct.html To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org

You should transfer all old formats to a newer format. The native format of OpenOffice is a good format for long term use; should you wish to share files for editing with users using other software, you can then save out to MS Office 97/200/XP format if necessary. If you only wish to share files on a read-only basis, send them .pdf files. -- Rory O'Farrell --- List Conduct Guidelines: http://openoffice.apache.org/list-conduct.html To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Re: WPS files
"Gil & Caryl": Can anyone suggest a way to open wps files Install MS Works? Use LibreOffice? and tell me what format to use when saving them so that Open Office can then open the files. RTF is the safest bet. --- List Conduct Guidelines: http://openoffice.apache.org/list-conduct.html To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Re: reading the help files in open office
I have the stable version so I think you should as well. I'm new to OpenOffice so won't beta test at this time. This has become my main Office suite so don't wish that to be ruined.
