Re: How to install Openoffice.org on Debian???
Hello, Did you check your Linux distribution's repository? Just try Libreoffice for a search. Re: Problemi di Open Office 4.1.1
Google translate gives out the following: Good Evening, I installed two times every six months, the Open Office version 4.1.1. It is totally incompatible with dictionaries in various languages, including Italian base. Since all the words are highlighted as an error, I also tried to re-install extensions related to dictionaries, but the function of loading installation tells me not to find them, while they are physically right in that directory. The problem I had already reported six months ago and I have also sent an e-mail telling me that you had put in place the extension compatibility of dictionaries. So twice I restored the PC to the level of the previous back-up, as it is not sufficient to uninstall Open Office 4.1.1, due to many system files that are corrupt. I hope that in issuing the version 4.1.2, that look, you make sure even the compatibility of extensions dictionaries. Thanks anyway for your valuable work. Best regards I have nothing to offer though as a solution. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Re: New User - Open Office
Hello, A generic question: Did you download the software from http://www.openoffice.org, which directs to the Sourceforge website? If not so, you might acquire a modified version of Openoffice flavour. If everything is smooth, please use OO Writer to open a DOCX document. In my experiment, I have successfully opened a DOCX file with OO Writer. There is a chance that the DOCX file might be incorrectly configured, incorrectly renamed (it must be a DOC file, but if renamed to a DOCX file, it might not be opened properly), or damaged. Please review these options. Thanks Barbaros@Istanbul On 26-11-2014 21:33, sheshadri iyengar wrote: Can you please help a new user of Open Office. Re: Pop Up Error
Sir, What happens when you try allowing the software to reopen the windows for one time? If it succeeds, this pop-up window will probably not appear again. Loss of image resolution when converting into PDF
Hello, I have a question regarding the loss of image quality when converting to a PDF document. I have played with the Export to PDF... dialog box to succeed no compression, but the resulting PDF is still of very low quality. Would introducing a VERY high resolution image into the document solve the problem? Images with 600 dpi resolution are frequently requested by publishers when submitting scientific documents. Re: Your ad on my computer
Sir, Are you completely sure that you have downloaded openoffice software package DIRECTLY from http://openoffice.org, which directs to SOURCEFORGE website? It appears, to my knowledge, that you have used another website to download another flavour of openoffice suite, which most probably contains MALWARE and similar stuff that surely drives you mad. Please review your actions as to which website you did use to acquire OOO, and please try to download SOLELY from openoffice.org. Thank you for your interest. A question about OO Writer
Hello, I have a document in which I must use a different page number than usual. To do this, I enabled a footer, inserted a page number, and it was 1. I right clicked the highlighted area, clicked Fields..., and tried to play with the offset value below. I needed number 10 for the first page. I believe I managed to see 10 at the first page, but no luck for the others. Any help? Re: How to open
You have not written what operating system you are using, but it might be possible to search for the installed programs; just search for openoffice to see what are available. You might also need a restart for windows versions. On 06-09-2014 18:29, abk...@aol.com wrote: I have downloaded openoffice on my computer, but can't find it. Re: A question about OO Writer
Thank you for the clarification. I have done as you wrote in your e-mail, and everything seems perfect. I could not find the option to exclude the first generated (blank) page in the PDF output, so I used another program to delete the first page in the PDF, a python software that uses pypdf module. My problem has been solved, and allow me to thank you cordially again, and best wishes from Istanbul, Turkey. yes, offset is not the best deal here. better, place the caret somewhere in your first paragraph, open 'format - paragraph - text flow', tick 'insert page', choose 'before' from the drop-down list, tick 'with page style', choose the style you need and set the 'page number' field to 10. the bad side is that page 10 will be not the first but the second page of the document. the first page will be invisible when editing but may reappear on printing, previewing or exporting as pdf. to prevent this, uncheck 'print automatically inserted blank pages' under 'file - printer settings - options' or in 'print' or 'export as pdf' dialogue. another defect is that the 'page count' field will also be incremented by one. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Re: A question about OO Writer
Yes, I did see the option, and unchecked it, but had no idea why this blank page was still there. I had to use external software to delete this page. Worked out fine for me, though.
