To cancel your subscription you'll need to pay up the
remainder of the subscription at $199.98 + tax (USD).

:D HAHAH

You are not subscribed to the mailing list so you cant
be asking about that and this is a 100% FREE product
that anyone can download so if you paid for it - you got
taken. Just uninstall and move on.

Can you name (some of) them? Offlist is fine too, if you prefer.

I think the main issue is whether ezmlm supports the feature or not. If
it does (i.e., your "change" above is a configuration change), I don't
see big issues. If the "change" you mention is, instead, a code change
requiring to run a custom version of ezmlm, I think Infra won't allow us
to do it due to the obvious maintenance burden that comes with
custom-built software.

Hi Tera,

I'm not sure that you are subscribed to this list, so I'm including you
explicitly.

Your issue might be a corrupted version of OO, or a template that comes from a
commercial company not affiliated with OO, or a (cloud storage?) system also
not affiliated with OO.

Identifying the URL from where you downloaded OO and the URL from where you
downloaded the template will help us help you.

Please let us know if you need any more to resolve this.

Whether you realise it or not, you "accessed" Apache via an untrusted

hi.
Is OpenOffice really free for any user?
OpenOffice is free for use by everybody. You may take this copy of
OpenOffice and install it on as many computers as you like, and use it
for any purpose you like (including commercial, government, public
administration and educational use). For further details see the
license text delivered together with OpenOffice or
http://www.openoffice.org/license.html
Why is OpenOffice free for any user?
You can use this copy of OpenOffice today free of charge because
individual contributors and corporate sponsors have designed,
developed, tested, translated, documented, supported, marketed, and
helped in many other ways to make OpenOffice what it is today - the
world's leading open-source office software.
If you appreciate their efforts, and would like to ensure Apache
OpenOffice continues into the future, please consider contributing to
the project - see http://openoffice.apache.org/get-involved.html for
details on contributing time and
http://www.apache.org/foundation/contributing.html for details on
donations. Everyone has a contribution to make.
hope that help, God bless you all.

OpenOffice is a free download, with no subscription. Because OO is opensource
many sites manipulate search engines so that they come high on the hit list,
and compile OO with unwanted add-ons or charge for it with spurious offers of
support.

It is possible your stepfather downloaded from such a rogue site, which is
nothing to do with the OpenOffice project.

I suggest you remove the existing print of OpenOffice, run indepth Malware and
antivirus scans, then follow my suggestions below.

OpenOffice should be downloaded _only_ from
http://www.openoffice.org/download

This site will redirect you to a SourceForge site and your download will start
in about five seconds with no need to click on anything else (Do NOT click on
anything else).

One can verify that the downloaded file is as it left the code factory by the
methods described in
http://www.openoffice.org/download/checksums.html

When you install, you will be asked to enter your name and initials. This is
only for internal use on your computer to identify you from other users on the
same computer (such as other family members). This information is not (repeat:
NOT) transmitted outside of your computer.

We recommend downloading only from the above site.

Are we considering the slight chance that this might be a case of a
customer running RollAp service on some kind of tablet and it's that this
service which is billed?.

I don't know if RollApp changed the "about box" in any way, so customer
"sees" the "Open office" running on his/her "tablet", and assumes it was
"installed there" when in fact the app is running on the cloud, and what is
installed on the tablet is just the launcher.

Just thinking aloud.

Contact the organization(s) that is/are billing you, using their
designated contact point. (My recommendation would be to also use FedEx
Next AM delivery.)

Your financial institution is able to provide the name of the
organization, and their street address, for each charge made on your
account. Your financial institution might charge a fee for providing
that information to you.

Regardless, since Apache Open Office is distributed gratis, it wouldn't
be charging you for a license.

And remember, Moderators are generally happy to help users unsubscribe
if they run into actual technical difficulties. One way they can
indicate they are running into problems would be to send a note that

2) Here is the command I sent

I have had it happen, but it is an unusual case not likely seen by a

who owned the email domain, emails subscribed with a specific email

no longer possible to use that name for outgoing email. Odd case.

Many people who are members of ACM or IEEE or other professional
associations register using a Remailer Address serviced by the
organization. The use of a Remailer Address enables provision of at
least the following services by the organization:

 * Virus scanning of mail sent to the member's Remailer Address
 * Quarantining of S--- sent to the member's Remailer Address --
Note that I did not use the S-Word since using it might cause
Verizon refuse to send the message considering it to be S.
 * Forwarding of non-infected non-S--- messages to the member's ISP
   provided addresses.
 * Ease of changing of ISPs by simply registering a new ISP supplied
e-mail address with the Remailer Service so that mail sent to the
Remailer address is forwarded to the member's new current ISP
provided address. Correspondents need not be informed of the change
   of ISP.

These people *cannot* send from their Remailer Addresses. They can
and usually do include their preferred Remailer Address in the
Reply-To field of their message headers. Their e-mail messages are
sent from their ISP provided addresses.

So, I think that a significant proportion of those who send to the
list asking to be removed have tried sending to the address in the
footer of the messages and were not removed from the list since they
are subscribed with a Remailer Address. That address from which they
are send is different from the address which is subscribed

I recommend that some mechanism be established for such subscribers to
take action to be removed from OpenOffice Apache lists. The
instructions they need should be provided in the footer with the other
three instructions.

I can't imagine that *no* developers and maintainers of OpenOffice
know of Remailer Addresses. How could this problem have festered so
long? Does the project cadre really not know about Remailer
Addresses? If you can maintain Apache projects you must be able to
understand this dilemma now that I have explained it somewhat clearly,
I think.

Note that I am subscribed via an IEEE Remailer address.

I'd no doubt have the same problem which these other poor souls have
if I'd try to unsubscribe.

Hi Tubular,

Well, I just inspected headers and see that I had fooled myself. My
original subscription request was:

Subject: Subscribe to OpenOffice Users Mailing List

My reply to the confirm subscribe to ooo-us...@incubator.apache.org was:

The resulting WELCOME message said in part:

  Welcome to ooo-us...@incubator.apache.org!
Please save this message so that you know the address you are

So, my attempt to con the list server to use my IEEE Remailer address

It looks like people are not allowed to subscribe via their preferred

You must have actually been seeing people writing from ISP supplied

FYI, I get many messages from this list that do not have the unsubscribe
footer. Don't know what's up with that, and since I don't want to unsubscribe,
I don't care.

Thought you might find the info handy for troubleshooting.
