Thanks for your encouragement, Clay.

Just one more question to be on the safe side as my particular system
has some active users:
Does your approach leave database and configuration in place?
Or do I have to recreate everything?

Again, many thanks for sharing your experience.

Is it possible that your email address has trailing space character in
LDAP or SQL?

I think sogo webmail does not have any error handling in SMTP connection.
If server rejects email or connection for some reason, you will get "proxy
error". It does not block others from using interface. You might be able
to see what triggers it in some email server logs or in packet sniffer
(tcpdump, wireshark, hunt) logs.

I think index.php with "header('Location: https://yourdomainhere/SOGo/');"
is better. It does not display any page and sends browser to correct
location without delay. meta redirect has to display page content.

There are many ways to do that. Some might suggest mod_rewrite.

SOGo apache configuration does not include any directives for setting up
virtual host. Setup secured virtual host according to apache
documentation
and load sogo configuration in it. The only things related to SSL are
two
sogo x-webobjects-server- headers.

Ok, I tried creating a virtual host and it is working to a degree. When
I log in to an account, it does not go to a secure (https) connection.
But I can redo the address and it does. Then I find that some of the
links do not go to a secure pop-up. Like writing, replying or
forwarding, these do not. But the address book and preferences do. Also
when I log out, it goes to an insecure page.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Maybe you include SOGo configuration in global scope and not inside
virtual host. Maybe your x-webobjects-server-url and
x-webobjects-server-port headers are not correct.

NameVirtualHost x.x.x.x:443

// standard ssl host configuration. Make sure that it works

   // sogo configuration goes here.
// copy paste from sogo.conf or include sogo.conf
   ...

// sogo.conf directives should not be included here

If you have same sogo.example.org website on 80 port, create virtual host
which redirects to SSL host

---
NameVirtualHost x.x.x.x:80

   ServerName sogo.example.org
   RedirectPermanent / https://sogo.example.org/

---

If you want to run SOGo protected with SSL, make sure that it available
only in SSL protected form.

[SOGo] Freebusy question

2010-05-13 Thread Gavin Weight
Hi,

I'm using Outlook 2007 and configured funambol client for Outlook to sync
contacts, cal, tasks and under Tools > Options > Calendar Options > Freebusy
Options, I've used:

https:///SOGo/dav/%NAME%/freebusy.ifb

But when I configure a meeting request Outlook 2007 pops up a general
failure to read url and in the sogo.log

localhost - - [13/May/2010:15:22:49 GMT] "GET /SOGo/dav/joe/freebusy.ifb
HTTP/1.1" 401 0/0 0.002 - - 0

HTTP/1.1" 401 0/0 0.002 - - 0

Which says (401) unauthorized, so how does one pass through user credentials
via Outlook ?

Re: [SOGo] SOGo + JAMM

2010-05-13 Thread Wolfgang Sourdeau

Mark Madere wrote:

Hi,

I am part of small but hopefully growing number of SOGo + JAMM hosting
providers. I want to integrate the two as much as possible. My team is
currently designing ways to automate updates to .GNUstepDefaults when
changes occur to domains in JAMM. We have a few questions about what we
can do from the SOGo side working towards JAMM or other LDAP based mail
managers:

A: Is it possible to edit LDAP address book entries from SOGoUserSources?

No. Ultimately it will be possible to do so from an administrative
interface but this is not available right and is not likely to appear
before sometime. Well... Unless someone sponsorssuch a feature from us,
of course!

Also, the adding of a "domain" would require a restart from the SOGo
services, which is not handled fully right now. So that part would need
some work too.

B: Is it possible to add a new tab in the address book entries for JAMM
or other mail manager fields?

If you mean for specific fields in the contact cards, it's not trivial
as it will likely require changes in the code too. Can you explain a bit
further which kind of fields you with to add?

A possibility would be for you to extend the UIxContactEditor class in a
separate SOGo "product" bundle, which would contain the code required to
handle the fields you have put in a custom template.

C: Is it possible to build an extension for SOGo to do A and B?

Technically yes, as mentionned above.

I think there is no other way. On our side, we actually need to change

Hello Wolf.

I had a similar situation on a test box. There's probably a more elegant
way, but I resolved this by first removing SOGo and its dependencies
with "yum remove". Packages to remove are:

 sogo
 sope49-appserver
 sope49-cards
 sope49-core
 sope49-gdl1
 sope49-gdl1-contentstore
 sope49-gdl1-postgresql
 sope49-ldap
 sope49-mime
 sope49-xml

Then when I reinstalled sogo via yum, it pulled the packages from the
stable repo.

Hope this helps.
