We see more connections to the database since SOGo 2.2.4.

This error says, you lost a connection in mid transport of data and it
can not open a new one.
That is a really generic problem.
Perhaps your network is busy.

Thanks Ludovic for the info. But it was already unchecked. Also, deleting the
Collected acts as a ghost. Upon logging out and logging back in to the Sogo web
interface the Collected reappears. The only way to get it to work is to select
"When sending mail..", then choose, in our case, the Public group. Then it
disappears from the iPhone and won't reappear in the web interface. It seems
like unchecking the box doesn't matter. Like the gui isn't doing anything and
it is coded to always be on(checked).

But the bigger issue is this would have to be done to our 150 users
individually. And…none of the users have ever seen the web interface as we only
use Sogo as a CardDav server. Using only the Contact app in 10.9.3 and IOS 7
contacts.

So, can this Collected Address Book be turned off globally?

Thanks.

this did the trick, sogoadmin is now a sogo admin..

Setting ended up in ~sogo/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults
as expected.

I would appreciate any pointers on why / how to make it work if
configured in /etc/sogo/sogo.conf though..

Anyone have any ideas? Everything seems to be working fine, and like I
said, they only happen once per day (except twice today)...

We see more connections to the database since SOGo 2.2.4.

I'm curious, how many more? In other words, is it a lot (double or
more)? Or just a little (10% increase, etc)...

Also - I'm curious what you and/or others who are using [my][postgre]sql
or mariadb have set for

max_connections
max_user_connections

Are there any connection tuning (preferably sql related, but I imagine
the number of connections SOGo requires is similar or the same
regardless of what backend is used) recommendations for SOGo anywhere?
Searching the install doc for 'connection' didn't reveal anything.

This error says, you lost a connection in mid transport of data and it

Perhaps your network is busy.

I doubt any of the above. First, the times these happen are outside
normal business hours. If it had to do with a busy network, it would be
happening during business hours.

My network is fairly small - 60 or so users - but, they are all using
shared Calendars & Address Books (at least 3 of each, more in a few
cases), so maybe I do need to tune the mysql connections.

Perhaps you run out of port numbers.

What do you mean 'run out of port numbers'? This is connecting to
mariadb over TCP on port 3306 - one port.

Perhaps you have not enough file descriptors.

My SOGo server is on a different box than my SQL server - so, do you
mean file descriptors on the SOGo box or the SQL box? And wouldn't there
be other symptoms? And more importantly, again, this happens at odd
times - the first few times at about 3:00am or so, so when the load on
the server is at its lowest.

But I'll investigate this further.

Thanks again

[SOGo] "PROPFIND /SOGo/" and "OPTIONS /SOGo/" in the logs

2014-06-18 Thread Mat
Hi list!

I'm a new user of SOGo, I'm running it on a debian wheezy VPS using
inverse's debian package. Sogo listens on localhost:2 and i have
an nginx instance setup as a reverse proxy, a pretty standard
configuration I presume.

My users, about 25, use a mixture of Thunderbird (with lightning and
sogo connector) and the web interface, and they are pretty happy so
far.

I have an issue though, in my sogo logfile I very often see this kind
of things:

and it goes on and on, forever, to the point that the sogo process
reaches 90% of my cpu and I have to restart it. It happens so often
that I ended up with a crontab restarting the sogo server every 5
minutes.

Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? Is there some kind of
misconfiguration on my side? I can provide configuration files.

Any help appreciated.

I remember that when installing from source openchange commands had to be run
from source directory rather then from install one. E.g if your git checkout
was in ~/openchange then you’d run ~/openchange/setup/openchande_newuser
—create …. etc. instead from install directory (/usr/local)

BTW, install doc is not great, there are some redundant / incorrect steps in
it. I got to working setup combining various docs from sogo.nu, openchage.org
and iabsis.com and understanding what is done in each step. My plan was to
write a “proper” setup documentation, but did not get a chance yet. :(

Best Regards
Martin.

I'm working with Ludovic off-line on this one as requested...

> How wrong? What is the URL being generated? Show your SOGo Integrator
> customizations and your sogo.conf file.

I'm feeling rather silly now. it turns out that the problem all along
was a mixture of errors in my Dovecot and AutoMX (used to auto-configure
Thunderbird, Outlook, etc. with mail account details) configurations.
These were causing the original problem with the incorrect entries in
the shared dictionary.

I have reverted to using a simple username (sAMAccountName as it's
Active Directory) to identify my users uniquely in Dovecot. My mistake
was returning mail as the attribute instead of sAMAccountName as the
"user" variable in my auth-ldap.conf.ext file (pass_attrs entry). I've
also now switched the Dovecot auth_username_format parameter from %Lu to
%Ln. These two changes have made shared folders work in SOGo and
Thunderbird without the need for a domain name in the shared dictionary
file.

The inconsistency in the SOGo Integrator occurred when I was using
domain extensions. On a fresh Thunderbird profile it was generating
URLs with the correct user@domain in them for calendars but "forgetting"
the @domain part of the URL for contacts. Although confusing, it is
working as designed. The calendar URLs must be queried from the SOGo
database in some way, whereas the contact ones are constructed locally
using the IMAP username. We use AutoMX to look-up e-mail addresses in
our Active Directory and publish autoconfig/discovery information for
Thunderbird. This was still returning just the plain username and hence
the account username for the IMAP account in Thunderbird did not contain
the @domain part.

As we have reverted to using simple usernames, our AutoMX configuration
(returning sAMAccountName for the IMAP username) is now correct and the
SOGo Integrator and everything else is happy.

Sorry for the noise about this but hope it helps someone else in the
future? It's a complex business integrating all these products but is
great when it eventually works!

How about a more specific question for the SOGo devs.

How many connections does SOGo use for each user, and how are they counted?

For example, is it one connection per user? Per user per shared resource
