[SOGo] Outlook EAS with mailboxes > 3GB

2015-10-10 Thread Peter Beck
Hi there,

I've configured some Outlook 2013 users with EAS. This works great with
smaller mailboxes, no issues (or none of the users told me ;-)

But with mailboxes > 2.5/3GB users are complaining about these issues:

* the initial sync takes "forever" (seems never to complete)
* connection very often drops after a few mails (Outlook displaying
"disconnected" and sometimes does not reconnect automatically)
* some messages are downloaded each time and are multiple times listed
in Outlook
* some attachments are "scrumbled" and listed in plaintext instead as an
attachment

Most (if not all) of these users have lots of folders and messages
inside these folders (mails from 2004 until now...)

The server is hosting about 30 mailboxes (small business), about 10 of
them are connecting with Outlook, the rest is using Thunderbird. On
mobiles active sync works as expected.

I found some advice in bug 3236 [1] and some mailinglist posts [2] but
none of these settings helped. Also tried resyncing some folders or
completely removed and reconfigured accounts with manage-eas.

Tried increasing max_line_length in dovecot from 2MB to 4MB, the timeout
in the apache virtual host is set to 3600. The worker count is set to 30.

The same accounts connected with IMAP sync very fast, no "scrumbled"
attachments.

My question now is, how do I find the optimal settings for EAS are
(MaximumSyncWindowSize, MaximumSyncResponseSize,
WOWatchDogRequestTimeout, SOGoMaximumPingInterval, etc...) ?

I've tried lots of values and nothing seemed to fix these issues. Is
that a trial-and-error solution or are there any optimal settings I can
calculate somehow ?

The server is running Debian Jessie 8.2 with SOGo 2.3.2 / Dovecot
2.2.13. It's a virtual machine with currently 4GB RAM and two
processors, average load never gets higher than 0.5...

but sogo-common is still listed as 2.2.9 - is that intended ? (using the
inverse repo)

ii sogo:amd64 2.3.2-1
ii sogo-activesync 2.3.2-1
ii sogo-common 2.2.9+git20141017-1

Hopefully someone can give me advice how to solve these issues...

Best Regards
Peter

I think it depends how you connect Outlook to SOGo (Openchange, EAS, or
just IMAP). Don't know about Openchange, but with the other options I
think you'll have to add these things manually for each user.

see documentation page 15 "SOGoCalendarDefaultRoles" and
"SOGoContactsDefaultRoles" for default calendar/addressbook permissions
and page 22 "KindFieldName" and "MultiBookingsFieldName" for resources.

not as far as I know, at least without Openchange (don't know how
Openchange handles that).
You can set default permissions for addressbooks and calendars in SOGo,
but you have to add them manually in Outlook.

The official SOGo installation guide you can find under
http://www.sogo.nu/downloads/documentation.html and the SOGo Wiki-pages
http://wiki.sogo.nu/ResourceConfiguration ?

AW: [SOGo] Some Questions regarding Contact Fields

2015-10-10 Thread Sebastian Pfohl
Hello. I'm planning to migrate to Sogo,if this is the right tool for me. But
before i must evaluate some things. I have tried the online demo and habe found
that there ate some limitations for contacts.

Migrate from where? What kind of functionality are you expecting to match /
supersede?

For now, im on Outlook.com for my private Mail and PIM Usage. But since i fear
my Custom Domain is no longer supported in the future, i will move to a
different solution.

Is it correct that there are only 2 e-mail fields? It's it possible to sync
more than 2 fields with ActiveSync or with Outlook?

Make sure you test EAS with reasonable amount of data before you call it
working. I am talking GB’s and thousands of messages here.

Oh, storage is not my problem. All my Mailboxes are fare away from 1GB. Most of
them are smaller as 200MB including all Mails, Calendar and Contacts.

Is it possible to install Sogo on a Shared Webhost where I have only access via
FTP?

I think not.

Thats bad. But maybe i could found a solution.

Are there Skins or Themes available to mimic a more modern look like
Outlook.com ?

Zentyal has “nicer” theme and I believe that SOGov3 will have one.

After some search, i found a Demo of V3 and it looks a lot better than V2.
Intrestingly, there are more fields for E-Mail Adresses. Thats very good news
for me. Do you know, if i could connect with Outlook 2010 to one of the Demo
Sites like http://demo.sogo.nu/SOGo or any other?

Can I use a external IMAP and SMTP Server?

I *think* this should be possible. All three should use the same user
authentication source though. (which is doable but kind of tricky).

Thats not the Problem. I can manage all Credentials for Mail myself.

[SOGo] Sogo Outllok Sync - Multi-Domain

2015-10-10 Thread dp
Hello all,

I understand from the list in general and also from martin -

Multi-Domain/ Multi-Tenant works with LDAP and Mysql backends and in such
scenario Outlook Sync is not possible.
i.e The native outllook deployment of SOGO is limited to single domain.

so question is if I need multi-Domain Multi-Tenant support and I am willing to
use a plugin - what are the options in SOGO?

[SOGo] Password scheme for Web changed Passwords differ from settings

2015-10-10 Thread Bastian Bleker
I’ve switched on the SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled option to allow my users a
password change.
I’m using SSHA512 for my passwords but if I change the password via sogo it
seems to use another scheme (there is no ending = sign and the saved hash is a
little bit longer than SSHA512 hashes).
Non the less it seems to work anyway (tested web login and imap login from
thunderbird) so why do the hashes differ and can i configure Sogo to create
SSHA512 hashes via the web interface?

Kind regards,
Bastian Bleker--
