 Hello!
We are about migrating our AD Domain, which is linked to SOGo via LDAP.
I'm wondering if is possible to migrate sogo profiles to new ldap source.
We mapped the username to Active Directory UPN, so now the user is user@domainA.
New user will be User@domainB.

I looked into the sogo database and figured out which step to take:
- rename c_uid field in sogo_user_profile table
- replace c_uid_field in sogo_acl table
- replace c_uid_field in sogo_quick_appointment table

Would it work? Or there's another supported way like backup/restore ?

Thanks,
Riccardo

Use the following (all in one line).
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences set defaults UserWithProblem
SOGoGoogleAuthenticatorEnabled '{"SOGoGoogleAuthenticatorEnabled":0}'

I am looking for users who may have experience running SOGo in a virtual
server, specifically for anyone who's had to roll back after an update.

After an update went wrong the other day we had rolled back 20 minutes.
As a result we started getting calls:

- users receiving emails with phantom recipients added that were never
on the original email.
- users receiving emails with extra attachments that they'd already
received earlier from completely different recipients.
- users sending emails to clients with the wrong attachment or an
attachment that was never attached.
- users sending emails to clients with additional and unrelated
recipients that were never added.

All users using Outlook Pro Plus 2019 on an EAS connection.

After a lot of hair pulling we noted via Webmail that the emails were
actually fine, and that the extra items were only happening in Outlook.
Once we re-added their Outlook profiles and let it re-download their
mail, everything showed with correct recipients and attachments.

I suspect that Outlook keeps a relational database of email items like
Subjects, recipients and attachments. Perhaps rolling back the server 20
minutes resulted in duplicate ID's on things so that newly arriving
emails would have related items matching one that came in during the 20
missing 20 minutes. Just theory of course, but seems to fit the evidence.

Can anyone relate, or anyone else provide any advice with regards to how
to properly roll back a bad update without risking these symptoms in the
future?

I think they will update the webpage, once the first stable release with
support for CentOS 8 and Ubuntu 20.04 is out.
Currently there are only nightlies.

I also assume, that this will be the next release 4.3.3.

But I just found out, that the FAQ section is really outdated.
Newest Debian mentioned is Debian 8 Jessie.
We are on Debian 10 Buster now and where on Debian 9 Stretch before.
So there is no harm in filing some bug reports ;-)

IMO only problem is user authentication - I'm using PAM with users in
passwd/shadow DB. If I don't count SQL, SOGo support LDAP, CAS and SAML
authentication - but not PAM.

Please, if I don't want to migrate those few my users to LDAP, is there
any other simple solution for this scenario?
Any {LDAP,SAML,CAS} --> PAM bridge?
Maybe also some PAM <-> SQL account synchonisation shoul be sufficient,
as all accounts are stable with minimal change frequency.
Has anyone solved this?

 Dear SOGo users,

I am actually writing a milter with Python that can be useful,
especially if you are using the Sieve filters.

The purpose of the milter is to search the sender email address inside
the SOGo address books, and to add a header consequently.

It is helpful in the Sieve filters, for insance to write an auto
responder for your professional contacts, one for personal contacts and
one for unknown contacts.

For instance, the header "X-AddressBook: SOGo:Personal Address Book" is
added.

I am actually using an optimised SQLite database, which is filled from
the last SOGo backup. I will add an automatic synchronisation later,
when the address book is modified.

I will publish the milter on GitHub soon.

Kind regards,
André

Hi.

Just tested a bit and can confirm this is an issue, and i think the problem is
that SOGo has no rules for charset windows-1256 like for others as seen here.

https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo/blob/60247e83e7da798bb7292521694812a6ea12ff0f/UI/MailPartViewers/UIxMailPartHTMLViewer.m#L82-L85

My suggesting is that you add this '{ @"windows-1256",
XML_CHAR_ENCODING_ERROR},'  to UIxMailPartHTMLViewer.m between line 82/85 and
compile SOGo to see if that helps, and report back.

Now this just a suggestion not tested so can't say if it will work. The reason
i think this is where the issue resides, is as you can see by the image, title
is fine but body is not, and the body part of the mail "look like" it parses
through that method.

That's just my suggestion, hope you figure out what the root cause is.

 Hi all,
Just got a SOGo server set up, and I'm running MySQL as the back-end database.
On my (Ubuntu) server, its possible via SSSD/PAM/Winbind for Active Directory
users to log in to the server directly with their AD credentials.
I'm looking for a way to replicate this in SOGo. I could not find a way to
connect to the linux accounts on the server, so I then went down the path of
using LDAP as an authenticator for AD. Unfortunately, testing this connector
(debugging turned on, using tail -f /var/log/sogo/sogo.log as I try sample user
accounts) has proven difficult. In addition, I need the ability to have SOGo
check multiple OUs within the BaseDN, and this does not seem to be possible
within the current configuration framework of SOGo. I did try using
OU=%d,DN=domain,DN=local does not seem to work (?).
This leads to the question: Is there a way to get SOGo to look at the Linux
credentials as an authenticator? Example query:- IF an existing Linux user
exists AND their password matches- THEN authenticate them and reference/create
their profile in MySQL.
In this way you could then use the PAM/SSSD/Winbind connector between the Linux
server and Active Directory as a connector.
Thoughts?
Thanks!--Paul--
