Ah, thanks. I was always searching for it where I define the signature
itself. (Under Preferences - Mail - IMAP Accounts)

In SOGo V2 Webinterface go to "Preferences" -> "Mail-Options" and change
option "When replying to a message" to "Start my reply above the quote".

In SOGo V3+4 Webinterface open Preferences (= cog wheel) then select
"Mail" on the left side. Set option "When replying to a message" to
"Start my reply above the quote".

In Thunderbird you have to set that on every account in its settings
under compose & address.

Do you have the same problem when saving your preferences with no signature
defined?

What version of SOGo are you using?

The signature is stored in the BDD.
You can try to set it with sogo-tool utility too.

Which error messages does sogo server give you in sogo.log?

Can you change any other preferences for this user?
Do other users work as expected?

You can set a signature for each user with sogo-tool on the command line.

But you can not prevent, that he/she changes that signature later.

Also there is only one signature in SOGo.
Be aware, that each user can choose, if he/she sends HTML emails or not.
With plain text signatures this isn't a problem, but HTML ones will be
ugly if the user sends plain text emails.

On the command line you can use sogo-tool for that.
Read the current setting with:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences get defaults $userid SOGoMailSignature

Unset it with:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences unset defaults $userid
SOGoMailSignature

Set it with:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences set defaults $userid
SOGoMailSignature '{"SOGoMailSignature":"My new totally hip signature"}'

You have to replace $userid with your user ID in SOGo.

Read the current setting with:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences get defaults $userid SOGoMailSignature

Unset it with:

[SOGo] Signature link missing. Proposed fix?

2011-05-30 Thread Jason Thibeault

Gentlemen,

I've noticed a number of my users appear to have the Signature link
missing under the IMAP Settings tab in SOGo. I'm still looking for
commonalities, but a large number of them have c_defaults set as NULL
presently on their user entry in sogo_user_profile.

I'm not 100% certain of this, but it seems that to save space, your IMAP
Settings tab is attempting to provide the link to edit the signature, as
a "preview" of the signature. Sometimes, as with past issues where the
signature contains nothing but a \n (which you fixed in 1.3.7a), this
results in the link being simply broken or missing entirely.

I propose that for usability's sake, the edit link be simply a link that
says "Edit", with a preview beside it if available. This way, when faced
with an issue where this tab cannot preview the signature for whatever
reason, the interface will not be broken. It's better to not have a
preview of the signature, than to not be able to edit the signature at all.

What do you think?

And thanks, as always, for this fantastic product!

[SOGo] Signature Placement

2011-03-24 Thread Dominique

Hi,

In the web interface, in the Mail Options, the signature placement
option does not affect replied mail in the same way it affects forwarded
mail.

In the case of replied mail, it actually works and does what is selected.
In the case of forwarded mail, the signature is systematically
positioned at the end of the message regardless of the option selected.

Any idea ?

Re: [SOGo] Signature link

Do you compose messages in HTML or plain text?
I changed to plain text whilst composing the signature - in other
words, fist
created a signature in html, didn't like it, changed to plain text
and edited

it. Changes were't saved and then link disappeared after a few attempts.

Can you show us the content of the column c_defaults in the table

sogo_user_profile for your user?
{"SOGoTimeFormat": "%I:%M %p", "SOGoMailSignature": "\n",

You ended up with a single line feed as your signature. That's why
you can't edit it.

Nonetheless, it's a bug. Could you fill a ticket (http://sogo.nu/bugs/)?

After one or two edits, changes were not permanently saved and then the
