Hi Nicolas,

yes, the PDF Perk includes the current manuscript as PDF, alle updates and
the final version of the PDF. I just not sure if I'm allowed to fulfill the
Perks right now. I'min the process of checking that with Indiegogo. The
worst case is that you get your first PDF when the campaign is over.

Finally Long wait is over! I have funded for Printed Book. I am desperately
waiting for more material to master tapestry 5. I know you are still working
on final version but it would be great if you can provide what you have in
pdf format. Not sure what are rules set by indiegogo.com.

Thank you!

I guessed it was the same: they'll only collect after the campaign is over
and the goal has been reached, since refunding probably introduces fees.

But it seems I guessed wrong. I only just signed up with Indiegogo and
after reading a bit more on the website it seems they do things differently
since they mention something about a refund to users if the goal hasn't
been reached, which might mean they do charge the credit card immediately.
The campaigners can also choose to keep the money if the goal hasn't been
reached, which is also different from Kickstarter.

This minimal goal of $500 on purpose. If I had chosen a goal which is too
high, there might be a risk that the project doesn't reach its goal. In
this case I would be forced to pay more fees.

However, the campaign will all the funds over the goal anyway. So,
contribute if you want to help.

I will second this opinion. The book is great! I'm working through
all the examples and it is by far the fastest way (I've found) to get
up to speed on T5. Alexander did an excellent job of keeping things
simple enough to work through, while hi-lighting the different ways of
accomplishing the same thing.

RE: Tapestry 5 book

2008-01-28 Thread Andy Huhn
I guess I'll be the first to mention...my copy of the book arrived last
week! (Thursday) I've already read a good chunk of it, and skimmed
what I didn't read. Excellent!

Even though I've been plowing my way through learning Tapestry for the
past few months, I found the book to be an excellent, rigorous treatment
of a lot of the details that I haven't been able to find put together
all in one place so far. It's definitely written to be simple enough
for someone who doesn't know Tapestry at all to get started, but even
though I'm familiar with all of the basics, I still found it wonderfully
enlightening to read through it. It's helping me pull together some of
the basics that I haven't been able to get a handle on yet.

Alexander...excellent job!

A simple search through the mailing lists archive would have revealed
the publisher site and then:

I don't think it will, since we don't even have form support under
zones yet. If there is anything, it would be the autocomplete
component.

That's even nicer.
I must admit that is an addictive habit to let spring manage boring
stuff and have it directly exposed inside T5 pages. Neat.

Rember you promised AJAX for JavaOne :)

BTW Spring integration is great, it let you take advantage of all the
main Spring features in a very natural way.

Sure in my copious free time :-)

I have every expectation of writing a book, but I need to get the code
to settle down first, and the Ajax features and Spring/Hibernate
integrations also need to be nailed down. Right now, I'm busy with
clients (alas, using T4) and various speaking engagements (NFJS,
JavaOne) so T5 progress has slowed back down for a bit.

Do you plan to launch a new book of tapestry (Tapestry in Action, 2nd
