is the possibility to easily import an extension from any repository
into XWiki Repository. You can find the full list of issues fixed for
this release at http://goo.gl/G9InJ .

2012-01-20 Thread Roman Muntyanu
Hi Dev team,
Great to see 3.4 approaching, looking forward to it :)

I have noticed that there will be a Delete Space option added and I wanted
to warn that the probability of facing this
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-7040 issue will increase.
Also, will there be a Rename Space option added at some point?

[xwiki-users] LDAP Logging Problem

2012-01-20 Thread niko dangl
Hi Guys,

hopefully im doing right sending a mail to this list with my problem.

Actually i got 2 Problems but if i can solve one the other will be gone :)

One is die LDAP connection and the other is the debugging/logging function.
Unfortunately i can't login with the AD users and i don't even know if
there is a connection to the server.
I wasted a day trying to get the debugging/logging enabled but it
seems im to stupid for it :)

enabled LDAP Debug Log with the log4j.properties file in
WEB-INF/classes without success.

log4j.logger.com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.ldap=trace
log4j.logger.com.xpn.xwiki.user.impl.LDAP=trace

but somehow i cant find a log or information about ldap.

do i have to configure something else or add some information to the xwiki.cfg?!
any help is appreciated.

Systeminformation:

CentOS 6.1 in a VM
XWiki 3.3
Tomcat 5.5
Java 1.6

thanks and regards,
Niko

Well if you look at
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Authentication#HEnableLDAPdebuglog
you will seen that you have the documentation for both pre and post
3.1. Amon other thing it redirect to
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Logging which
explain in details how logging is working and how to setup it.

[xwiki-users] Components : Bridge to old core and objects ?

2012-01-20 Thread jerem
Hello,

I'm trying to convert a groovy class (in a wiki page) to a proper xwiki
component in Java.

Problem is : my groovy code makes heavy use of the document model, for
example :
- setting documents creator/author, dates, with and without triggering
change events (modifying also internal xwikidocument)
- accessing multiple objects of same class created in a unique page
- ...

I could not find anything to do that in the DocumentAccessBridge ...

My question is, would it be better for me to wait for the xwiki model to be
properly externalized from the old core (so I could target this from my
component), or expect missing methods to be added to the bridge, ... or add
them by myself ?
Obviously, the last option seems both too heavy and too risky for me.
Obviously too, rewriting my (big) groovy class for using the bridge api
seems cumbersome : I'd prefer to wait for a dedicated component for
accessing the core model.

Best regards,
Jeremie

2012-01-20 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea
If you don't mind depending on the old core then you can access it
from a component as indicated on
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/WritingComponents#HAccessingLegacycode
. Once you have the XWikiContext object (from the ExecutionContext)
then you have access to all the old core APIs.

Hope this helps,
Marius

[xwiki-users] Just Map It! Wwiki extension

2012-01-20 Thread Jonathan Dray

Hi All,

We are very pleased to inform you that we packaged our map solution,
Just Map It!, as a XWiki extension.
This extension shows an interactive map of wiki pages and tags for any
XWiki space.

It is divided in 2 components :
  - a REST addon that exposes the wiki pages and tags of a given XWiki
space
  - a xar package that contains a velocity macro and the Just Map It!
flash client.

The map is generated on a dedicated Just Map It! server, which get the
necessary data by calling the REST service installed by the extension.

We worked with the Xwiki team on a snapshot of the xwiki.org extension
website (http://extensions.xwiki.org)

A demo is available at http://dev.social-computing.com:8280/xwiki/
An authentication is required :
  - login : demo
  - password : scdemo

This demo displays a map of all available xwiki extensions linked by the
tags that were assigned by extensions developers.
It gives a good overview of all existing extensions and the relations
between these extensions.

Additional navigation actions are proposed to the users on the map :
  - Center on one particular item
  - Show all the extensions that contain a specific tag
  - Display the wiki page of an extension or a tag

Another map is generated on a each tag's wiki page.
This map shows the tags that are close to the selected one.

We would very much appreciate your feedbacks and advice on how to make
the map available to all xwiki.org users on the extensions website.

For more information on Social Computing and on our map solution Just
Map It!, please visit our website : http://www.social-computing.com (in
french, shortly in english!)
You can also play with the Just Map It! feeds web application :

The XWR_COMMENT column is only 255 characters; however, xwiki is trying to
assign to this column the text:

Either the comments needs to be truncated, or the column should be defined
 as a CLOB.

It turns out that the annotation is saved -- when the page is reloaded,
the text is highlighted and the annotation text is available.

Re: [xwiki-users] State of the XWiki Community

Hi,

Today I have noticed that XWiki made it into a commercial solution
 * http://www.cloudbees.com/platform-ecosystem.cb
 *
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/cloudbees-adds-mongohq-papertrail-and-xwiki-to-integrated-partner-ecosystem-of-hosted-cloud-services-for-java-developers-2011-10-24
My congratulations! :)

One more observation that XWiki is primarily presented in European counties
on 2012.01.21 following request
http://www.google.com/trends/?q=XWikictab=0geo=alldate=allsort=0
produced
1. Algeria
2. France
3. Morocco
4. Czech Republic
5. Switzerland
6. Belgium
7. Romania
8. Singapore
9. Austria
10. India

I think it's essential to get other markets to increase the community (north
America comes first to mind, however taking into consideration number of
population - China, India and fast growing Latin America world that might
depend)
