I was reading about those tri focals. man, I don't see how ppl could get used to them, but my Aunt has the lineless ones and she says that now, she can see better than ever and the transitional part of the lens don't bother her at all, Chuck - Original Message - From: "Jack Lehman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2008 9:15 AM Subject: [VFB] Re: My email fonts > > Chuck > > When you talk to your eye checker, be sure to tell them that you want > your bifocals set for a computer distance, not a book reading distance. > They can accomodate you. [VFB] Re: My email fonts
J: Thanks a lot.. I tried that (went from 1260 by 768 to 800 by 600) but it made it to where I have to scroll up, down, left and right to read a page (website). But, if this keeps up, i may have to do that and just get used to the scrolling. Thanks again, Chuck - Original Message - From: J Balmer To: vfb-mail@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2008 7:52 AM Subject: [VFB] Re: My email fonts You don't have to change font size, you can change the resolution on your computer screen. If you right click on any open area of your desktop a small window will pop up with a number of options. Click on "properties" on the bottom of that window and a second window, Display Properties, will pop up. Click on the "settings" tab to the right of that window. There will be a slide bar for screen resolution. If you put the mouse curser over the slide & hold down the left mouse button, you can slide it to the left, which will lower the screen resolution & make everything bigger on the screen. If you move it far enough left, it will change the color quality, so there may be some trade offs depending on how much you need to change the resolution. [VFB] Re: My email fonts-may I suggest
Joyce: I'm going there just as soon as possible.. Thanks for the tip.. Only reason I haven't been before is that I went to one about three years ago. He said I needed bi-focals. And I had just been diagnosed with Macular degeneration from welding all those years. So, I got the lens that darken in the sun, the UV 400 lens etc. I walked out of there $400 lighter. And I still could not see right. So, I went back, and back, and back. Three times trying to get him to realize they had cut the lenses wrong or something. But, he wouldn't budge. He didn't wanna have to pay for new lenses and/or admit he'd made a mistake. So, I have those $400 glasses sitting on my dresser. Anyway, just as soon as I can, I'll be going to a DIFFERENT doc, Chuck - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: vfb-mail@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2008 5:55 AM Subject: [VFB] Re: My email fonts-may I suggest May I suggest that it is time to go to your opthalamologist or optomatrist? This type of vision may also be due to problems in the back of your eye or beginning cataract formation. And if it is cataracts, good news! With our new phaco equipment, you can have a cataract removed and regain almost perfect vision with the new lenses. Chuck When you talk to your eye checker, be sure to tell them that you want your bifocals set for a computer distance, not a book reading distance. They can accomodate you. Or you can go to trifocals and get all three in one. Jack Austin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Oh, I got 50 pair of reading glasses.I buy them by the dozen at the > Dollar Tree store LOL.
