TKX! Gary.. i've sent and recieved flies and hooks both..to and from overseas many times before, to a LOT of different people...(just very rarely cash).and i've never had any problems with it...main thing i was thinkin' bout (other than some customes guy rippin' off the $), is not doin' anything to slow down the process, thereby makin' myself late on delivery...best to just get the flies in the mail asap.then that's not a problem. i was once in the annual Christmas sawp that Iain holds every year.(was my second time) and when i put the value of the flies on the paperwork.the amount they wanted from him, in order to deliver...was so high he wouldn't pay itand who could blame him.needless to say, he sent them back and i hadda do my best to get them out individually to the others in the swap...what a pain in the ass that was.most never did get their fly...lol. THAT'S why i asked about usin' the word Gift. Enough to teach you to stay OUT of swaps with 30+ people in them, while also usin' expensive hooks..LMAO he mumbels to himself..i gotta stop usin' expensive hooks in swaps all the timelol NNNAAAH. Go to this site. http://www.kodakgallery.com/misakoishimura and click on an 'album' titled Swallows Nest Fly Tyers Room and see pics of our tyin' room at home in Arkansas. You'll see a framed POEM on the rear-end wall.way down at the back of the room.(only other copy i've ever seen is hangin' in THE Anglers club in lower Manhattan, VERY old, prestigeous and private club), and it probably won't be readable, BUT. It's a LONG poem where each time the name of an old classic wet fly is needed, to be used, in the poem, the fly is there instead of the name of the fly. So as you read the poem.whenever you get to those places.if you don't know the name of the flynuff said? And of course, the Grizzly King is one of the flies in the poem. It's really cool. None taken, both of these (the way i tie them) are tied in the traditional wing fashion. Is that the purpose of this swap or is it to tie a classic old traditional winged pattern that everyone knows? That's eleven (11) 10 flys due from each swap. It's a Ying Yang thing. I say go for it but me no host. Anyway, do you want a known Classic wet or a Classic style wet ? I have some great Macaw blue feathers I would like to use but do not see a specific pattern calling for Macaw wings. Anyone have a Classic pattern that calls for the feather. I do have other feathers but these are so colorful. Sorry to be a pain in the arse. Jim May your GOD be your fishing partner. The pics in that album are bout 6 months old.the NEST has gone to the next level since they were taken. Your always welcome. mark.
