[videoblogging] Vile Kyle made Noodle Scar Daily go HD
After watching Vile Kyles HD video last week it inspired us to start Noodlecasting (or is it Scarcasting?) in HD. We are testing it out this week for video blogging week. here is the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/NoodlescarDailyHD or you can just click on HD on the website. Does anyone want to see it in 1080p? I'm not sure what benefit there is other than it is so cool to see stuff in HD. -Lan www.NoodleScar.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: [videoblogging] Hyperlinks in Video
I've added all the tools mentioned so far to the Wiki's Resources page: http://videoblogging.pbwiki.com/Resources/ Whoever knows anything about Andreas's tool that Trine mentioned, could you post here and I will add it to the wiki (unless you want to do it yourself). And if anyone has any knowledge about tools or tutorials for making Flash and WMV videos clickable, please speak up. Elbows, should we put something in the wiki about WPF/E or is it too early? I would like to learn about and actively promote use of these hypervideolike tools, so that we can all start linking together and out into the internets more easily from deep within our videos themselves. Who knows, we might even improve on some of them, and come up with some cool tricks. Nick, These are just for Quicktime. The concern the text track (and sprite track) that Quicktime offers in addition to the video and sound tracks. Everything clever is lost when that file is then converted to flash. But there should be a separate way of getting interactivity out of flv files. Not sure how, but I would imagine it's possible. I wish I could help you more, but I have a feeling you will have to slave over it a little to get it working - and try a few different apps... that's the way these things always seem to be for me the first time :) Then when you start to understand how it works, you can get yourself a better workflow. Re: [videoblogging] Re: Hyperlinks in Video
FLVs cannot be active, and therefore cannot hyperlink to a site. To make an FLV clickable you'll have to look at creating, or building upon, a Flash video player and then playing the FLV within that player. [videoblogging] Re: Hyperlinks in Video
Probably too early to worry about WPF/E yet. Assuming some people actually install the plugin once its released in a non-beta version, WPF/E should make it quite easy to add hyperlinks etc to wmv files. Well to put it more accurately, wpf/e is to wmv what a flash player is to a flv file. WPF/E wont actually change your wmv file at all, it can just wrap round it in the browser instead of using the windows media browser plugin. So thats pretty much the same as how a swf file is used to play a flv video. The link magic will happen in the WPF/E or swf, rather than the wmv or flv video. Where it will be easier than flash is that wpf/e files are xml so its easy to manually create/edit them or generate them via a server script, as they are just text. It should therefore be rather easy for thousands of different wpf/e video players to appear and be shared and changed by people, although the actual functionality available isnt as rich as flash, it should serve the purposes being discussed on this thread quite well, for people using wmv format videos. The only big issue is whether this stuff catches on, it is another thing users have to download, and its also only really useful in the browser, so its not going to be a good link solution for users who watch your videos in an offline aggregator. Darn, now that Ive managed to get my hands on a nokia N95 (yippee), Im having to look at all these format issues again, because its so ideal downloading stuff straight to the phone via wifi, but only a few formats will work well that way. At this stage I guess I shoudlnt hold out much hope that theres any hyperlink-in-video solution that will work on that mobile platform? I've been using the MeFeedia Videobloggingweek2007 page. I couldn't understand why there seemed to be no comments. I lefty a rave for Mark Day told a friend I thought I had a strange sense of humor because the things I found funny didn't seem too popular. My comment on MeFeedia didn't show up on YouTube. I'm glad to see 27 or more comments were posted on YouTube. I use the MeFeedia page so I don't miss videos posted at sites other than YouTube. I think poeple should check out the MeFeedia aggregation and leave some cpomments there on videos they haven't seen elsewhere. It is nice to have everything collected in one spot. We also should encourage people whose posts we might otherwise miss. I had fun covering the Chocolate Jesus non-veiling in NYC for day two. I've been keeping one day ahead, having posted four videos in three days since I'll be attending PodCamp's opening party and event this coming Friday Saturday. [videoblogging] Cyber Seder 2007
Hi, folks. I have been off the list for almost a year but have returned to invite you to the Cyber Seder 2007. Last year's Cyber Seder was so popular I decided to bring it back for a second go-around. For those not familiar with a Seder, it is a retelling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt. It is a yearly Passover occurrence and quite an interesting experience. This time of year is a time to return to our beginnings and remember the lands from whence we came and the struggles of our fathers and mothers to bring us to where we are today. In that spirit, come celebrate Pesach with us and revel in the retelling of our stories - the common thread that unites all the children of Abraham. This from a goy. The Cyber Seder will commence at 7 p.m. EST this evening (3 April) and is viewable from my videoblog (http://carlweaver.blogspot.com) as well as from my Stickam page (http://www.stickam.com/profile/carlweaver). [videoblogging] Dreamhost vs blip.tv?
New to vlogging and setting up my vlog now. Not certain whether I should go with an inexpensive high disk-space / bandwidth server (dreamhost) or a host such as blip.tv. This will be on my own domain. I¹ve read over blip¹s licensing terms, so I¹m aware of that. I plan to eventually post numerous videos (more than 100) as I already have lots of content. I¹m tending toward dreamhost, which seems to give me more control and I could use their QT streaming capabilities. Would this be a good choice ? Any other guidance regarding this is much appreciated! Thanks. * DF [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Re: [videoblogging] Dreamhost vs blip.tv?
I use dreamhost as my web host and blip as my video host. I've been pretty happy with the arrangement thus far. I don't feel like I'm giving up any control using blip. I have more options than if I tried to implement many of their features on my own. -- Kary Rogers http://goodcommitment.tv On Apr 4, 2007, at 12:17 AM, Daniel Foster wrote: New to vlogging and setting up my vlog now. Re: [videoblogging] Dreamhost vs blip.tv?
Yes. Making QT my main format caused no end of headaches from people telling me they had trouble with QT, so I decided to go with Flash. Dreamhost also offers their own Flash transcoder, but I felt that Blip.tv offered more in the way of social support, such as serving as the mouthpiece of vloggers when video got scraped against people's CC licenses, that I went with them for my new show. Blip has its ups and downs, but I've been pleased overall. I now host Greentime on Blip and have it crosspost to a Wordpress blog I keep on Dreamhost. It is a pretty good arrangement, and I don't know that I'd go back to doing everything completely off Dreamhost. -- Rhett. http://www.weatherlight.com/freetime http://www.weatherlight.com/greentime Daniel Foster wrote: New to vlogging and setting up my vlog now.
