[videoblogging] Vlogging Tornados in Iowa City
We captured two different funnel clouds that touched down in downtown Iowa City Thursday night. We literally missed being hit by two blocks. A lot of damage to our downtown. Many historic buildings destroyed. Cars flipped. Trees uprooted. Only minor injuries reported at this point. I was really proud of the Public Access Television station staying open and airing footage and reports throughout the night. We had teams of producers out shooting the aftermath and returning with footage and we were the only local television station covering these events. http://www.aaronvaldez.blogspot.com Yahoo! [videoblogging] Re: Video management system
For the time being I just save everything to an external hard drive folder name Vlog. I save a DV-quality Quicktime File, the compressed .mp4, and the JPG still as the same name so they all appear together when I open the folder. I also compile the blogs in one timeline in Final Cut Pro until I have thirty minutes worth. I'll put them on MiniDV with a little intro and outro like Aaron's Video Blog and the dates. I'll make a lo-fi DVD with iDVD and submit it to the local Public Access Channel for air. I find this works best for me, but I usually use what I import right away and then get it off. I can understand the confusion if you are doing videos where you are pulling images from an ever-growing library. In that case I'd probably splurge on another external hard drive as my usable video archive and batch capture and label like crazy as you say your doing. You could create themed folders on this external hard drive like Conversations Driving Shots Flowers etc. Definitely keep raw footage separate from completed work on your tapes. Separate raw footage and completed video tapes on the shelf. You sound like your way ahead of the game already. I can't even bring myself to Batch Capture. Aaron Valdez http://aaronvaldez.blogspot.com --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Zadi [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hey all, I'm curious as to what you all use to manage your video files. Mine are getting pretty out of control, and besides the regular batch importing in FCP and exporting and logging all of my tapes into a file system...I'm wondering what everyone here is doing to organize themselves. I'm also tagging my files so I can find them in Spotlight - but it's so time consuming. It would be great if FCP integrated some tagging elements within their app. And some of the other apps I've found aren't well integrated with FCP - which means an extra step anyway. What are some of the ways you guys do it. I'm curious. Thx. :) Zadi http://smashface.com/vlog Yahoo! In the Summer will be turning into a video social network with video blogs live broadcasting from your own channel. At that time we will also unvail EVE our autosensing streaming patented technology, so we will reach all video enabled devices including video Ipods then video cell phone shortly after. Early next year you'll see the first TV Set Top Box (we have the patent on that too) Video emails, live video chat live broadcasts in front of your TV (no computer). The camera is also detachable so you can webcast from your back yard if you like. This is a MLM (which has a bad conotation normally) but in this case they have the technology, the patents the people to take this to the world. I can't escape the noise. Viral Videos are now on VH1 and Bravo, but what's stranger are these how advertising has developed a technique that I was unprepared for. I'll be getting out the duct tape and plastic tarps tonight. Someday a Jay Dedman hologram will sell you a car. [videoblogging] Re: SXSW - Who is bringing a camera?
Forget the cameras unless you have some kind of fanny-cam (trademark all rights reserved). you'll be too busy double-fisting lone star beer and shootin people in the face to operate video equipment! Get to Sam's BBQ (wi-fi services currently unavailble though they have a zenith tv from the late 70's that mysteriously only receives Jerry Springer). mmm mmm guud. [videoblogging] Web Cam Recommendations?
I'm thinking about getting a webcam for Xmas and was wondering if you had any recommendations. I have a G4 Power Mac but I'd like to avoid iSight (even I get tired of buying Mac stuff after a while) and get something under $100. Any Mac users not using iSight? I need good audio/video quality, ability to handle low light, and zoom (the option to add cartoon hats and glasses to my image is not high up on my list). Thanks and Go! [videoblogging] Re: Web Cam Recommendations?
I should have explained my current set up... I have a rather large camera that I precariously balance atop my tower on a series of magazines, pieces of cardboard, and half eaten peanut butter sandwiches. :) And I'm trying to avoid redneck jokes from friends so no tripods on the computer desk either. The shows, taken from NBC, the USA Network and the SciFi Channel, include current and older programming, the companies said. Among the offerings are Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Surface, as well as older programs such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dragnet and Knight Rider. Most of the programs cost $1.99, the same as hit programs Lost and Desperate Housewives, which Walt Disney Co.'s ABC several weeks ago said it would offer at the iTunes music store. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. NBC and Apple officials were not immediately available for comment. The deal signals growing desire among television networks to distribute their programming beyond the traditional TV screen. The iTunes music store, which Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs said has sold more than 3 million videos since the iTunes catalog launched two months ago, is one that has aroused particular interest. ESPN, also owned by Disney, is looking into distributing some of its TV programming on the iTunes service, ESPN and ABC Sports President George Bodenheimer said on Monday. News Corp.'s Fox Filmed Entertainment also is open to a deal with iTunes, co-Chairman James Gianopulos said last week at the Reuters Media and Advertising Summit. === Yahoo!
