Hey guys I have my newest High definition video blog relesed. http://vilekylefasanella.blogspot.com/ does anyone know if I am the first High definition video blogger or not? Kyle, When you say you are a High Def videoblogger, do you mean that you are broadcasting movies that are 1080i or 720p (ie: either 1920x1080 pixels or 720x480 pixels)?? I'm fascinated with the way this term, high-definition is getting used (well, or mis-used)... I keep hearing a radio station in Philadelphia brag about how they are broadcasting in High-Definition radio and I see these Kodak disposable HD still-cameras in the drug stores, and I have no idea what either one of those things is supposed to mean. (Well, other than misleading the public by using a term most people don't understand technically and sounding really cool as a marketing ploy. I get that -- but are those companies really that willing to lie?) Technically, if you've shrunk your video down to anything less than 720x480 progressive scan or 1920x1080 interlaced, then it's not HD. If it is that big, then what happens to people with screens that are smaller than that? (I can't watch your videos, cause I don't have QT7, and my 2003 computer isn't fast enough anyway). I only saw one or two images and heard the music and soundtrack. Kyle, Yeah just to add, I'm on a Powerbook G4 and DSL. I had difficulty watching the video. The first run through it kept freezing up or chopping up in Play. So I figured I'ld watch it again after it has loaded, but this time it chopped up and froze in different places, the same with the third time I attempted to view. The audio plays fine. Some of the shots/(frozen stills) look nice and crisp but overall most of the footage is pixelated freeze jump. Started playing well, but then got pretty choppy - seemed like quicktime got a bit confused about the progressive download. Very nice looking, though! I'd like to do one of these myself one day... Also, my window size in safari was -slightly- smaller than the quicktime, so i couldnt back it up or anything (which I wanted to quite a few times to let the video catch up) Looking at it again, it seems as if some of the shots are progressive or something? btw, I'm on a powerbook g4 (newest) 1.5 gigs ram, and tiger with the latest quicktime. SoWe were talking about this in one of the videoconferences I got to be part of last week, interestingly enough...I was asking what HD would do to the content - my first thought is that it feels like a mixture of a movie and a vlog - in a good way, but I do have a certain love of the little videos. But hey, when I was your age, I had to film my drunken friends in the shower in hi8, so what the fuck do I know? I really cant wait to see your next one. Observations: First - that footage was beautiful. Second - 1618kbits/sec is pretty impressive for 960 X 540 video, 30fps, Stereo audio Third - I have a 1 year old powerbook and it played fairly well though it ranged between 20 and 30 fps. Fourth - My processor was at maximum the entire time the video was playing.
