I'm not sure this is a valid point. Sure it may take 2 minutes to download FireAnt vs. loading a webpage But that one time 2minute download can save you hours of *waiting* on videos to download/buffer/queue/whatever The web is more intuative to the masses perhaps, but that will change in the near future. People are going to move to wanting content delivered via subscriptions instead of them having to go to the web to see if there is something new or not (why waste my time when there might not even be anything out there). Check out what Windows Vista is gonna do w/ RSS and it's common feeds list. It's pretty cool - users will just need to click subscribe on the webpage and all the other RSS aware apps like FireAnt will just know about them. The user wont have to copy/paste/setup etc... There will always be a place for web based services, but in the no-so-distant future the masses are gonna want content delivery to the desktop, and thats what things like FireAnt allow. -- http://www.DavidMeade.com SPONSORED LINKS Individual Fireant Typepad Explains YAHOO! Clint, Everyone's an expert. I almost said that about myself in the the last post. I still think that have a good point, but really what the hell do I know. LOL Can't wait to see what you guys have coming out. Markus made a really good point that I did not think of: i often can't count on being connected there are lots of reasons (on airplanes, at secure navy bases, poor connections, remote areas) those are the times i can best watch video streaming does not help at those times i know many people like that maybe things will change over time but it will be years the only time I can remember this being a problem was when I was on my bike tour...http://soloride.org (sorry I had too) Hey I will be patient. Just think you guys might lose a foothold. --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Clint Sharp [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Everyone's an expert. We have some cool stuff coming up, have some patience. Also to convince my friends to watch video it would be easier to tellthem to go to this link "www.example.c" then to tell them to downloadfireant. Just seems like people want instant gratification I know what you mean. A friend of mine says she can't see my videos. I know that it's something simple she's overlooking. I thought of telling her to download FireAnt but then I went and looked at the set up and realized that if she couldn't press "play" and see one of my videos, getting FireAnt set up would be a total impossibility for her. I didn't know about the Google reader. I'll be watching that with interest. -Bev YAHOO! GROUPS LINKS Visit your group "videoblogging" on the web.
