silly me, I figured that out when I got home and took the 8mb simm out
and replaced it with a 16mb simm I had in an old LCIII (chipped to a +)

Pickle (capitalized) this time) thanks for the help and quick reply.

Got me pegged there right enough. But, I am not going to spend nearly
$200 for a upgrade of debatable performance. Just thought if somehow,
the price had dramatically dropped, it might be worth it, but not, IMHO
worth spend over $100.

One thing, when you (pickle) said:
>You can buy a 6500 or 5500 mobo for about $50 or so these days. you
aren;t implying they will easily fit into a CC, are you?

Thanks for all the comments listariuans(?).

Where can I find a diagram for the LC 575 Mobo?
I went to MacGuru's but they said, "
At the present time, there are no plans to develop layouts for
the Classic LC series."
I just got one that I am going to put into my CC and would like to
identify a couple items on it first.

The board is oriented with the SCSI port facing me, white PDS slot on my
right but to the left of a brown Com? slot into which I find a ethernet
card. There is a card inserted to the left of the PRam battery. It says,
"Presenter 575 for the Mac LC 575. Is this to allow a external monitor?
The cable attached to it is 14 pins, about 1 to 1.25 inches long.

Also, the first two ( they look the same) simms to left of battery are
Ram simms I suppose and the longer one on left edge is VRam? No L2 Cache
I am assuming?
Thanks,
Doug

Yep, allows for video mirroring on an external display IIRC.

The two are VRAM; the one longer one is RAM.

No L2; if you find an 040 L2 card that fits a 575 Stuart is interested :)

MicroMac sells a 128K L2 card that plugs between
the (LC)040 and its socket. A lot on the expensive
side though. :(

Whoa! I must be misunderstanding. Will a 6500 or 5500 mobo plug directly
into the CC and work? How about a 5200? Or, are there modification that
must be made first? How extensive and can you point me to a how to site?

Getting more insanely excited about my CC.
Got to go, news just come on about the NY trade Center!

Thanks pickle, I found that site after I emailed. Looks like, no, it is
not easy, but requires some involved rewiring of the "quick plug"
(whatever the tech name for it is).
I'd really like a CC with a 5500's power (which is also G3 upgradable)
but I think that is past my ability level.
Thanks for the help and great CC site of yours,
Doug

The wiring harness, yes.

Ask around on the forum; you might find someone willing to make the
necessary mods for you if you provide the harness and parts.
