Re: list recorder and recording
Hello Steve and others, I had a equivalent problem with my iphone4 and I have posted it here some days ago but I didn't know how to describe. IN my situation, after stopping the recording , e.g. a length of about 8 seconds is shown but when I press the play button, I hear nothing and when I look again , the time is reduced to 0 seconds. so, it seems the audio is not saved or deleted. Is this what you mean? Kind regards, William Windels Op 7-aug.-2012, om 00:16 heeft Steve Robertson ve3jx...@yahoo.com het volgende geschreven: To add to this, I have noticed that some times when making a recording, nothing is recorded with the I Phone 4, but I don't seem to have this problem with the I Phone 4 S. I wonder if anyone knows of some setting I could change in List Recorder or in the I Phone 4 to make the latest version of List Recorder record consistently? Thanks for any suggestions. Steve Original message: Hello, I am trying to record for a item in a list but the audio won't save. What I have: 1 item with just a title in a list. I press the record button for that item and I talk for about 8 seconds. Then I do a double tab to stop recording. When I press then the stop button, it seems there is no audio saved. When I press the record again , I can add before or after the audio new sound. It seems I can't reproduce it exactly but is it right that: audio is saved when I have interrupt the recording with stop or pause? so, can I leave a list when a record is pauzed and the sound is saved? Sorry for this unclear message but I hope someone can give me hints why audio shouldn't be saved in list recorder. have a nice day William Windels -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Hi, I don't know of a toll-free tech support number for Bookshare. If you don't mind the long-distance call, try 650-644-3433 Their main tech support rep is an old buddy of mine from way back. I agree with this. IPad display
Good afternoon. I am enjoying the opportunity to have hands on an IPad. Moving from the IPhone to the Pad, I'm noticing differences between what appears on the screen of th IPhone, and the IPad. The ipad appears to have more than just the item yu are working with, for example, using settings, General, Accessibility, Voice-over, looks to be in the middle of the screen area, and the rest of the settings appletes look to be off to the left. I'd like the display to emulate the IPhone's display, just for consistency and familiarity more than anything else. I appreciate the gain in real estate when reading web sites and pages, that' nice. And the keyboard area is bigger too, that's a good thing. Ocationally as I navigate the display, I hear an anouncement about thumbnails, Don't know what this is. So although I'm not asking a direct question here, i would appreciate others experience between the IPhone and IPad. If this has been covered before, and I've missed it, which wouldn't surprise me, because this is a high traffic list, please drop me a note off list. patonpl...@gmail.com. I'm thinking of changing to the pad, and selling the phone, because I hate the phone part of the IPhone and would mainly use either the tablet or IPhone without a sim from home or office routers. In my experience the books convert better from the rtf file. No extra pages, spaces, etc. I find it a quick step and feel it is worth the extra time. That being said, I haven't done a conversion since I got Read 2 Go, so I could be wrong. However, you can try to convert directly from the XML file. Let us know how it works. BTW I think it should be noted that none of the Daisy navigation features will be retained after the book is made into the e pub format. You will be able to navigate using the iBooks tools. Open the X M L file. It will ask for your bookshare password. Now that the book is opened in your internet browser, select all, and then copy to the clipboard. Open your word processor such as MS Word, and paste the clipboard and save it as a R T F file. Remember where you saved it. Now open Stanza find the R T F file you just made and convert it to an E Pub file. (I use caliber on a PC, so I cannot give you details on how to use Stanza, but many at V I Phone can.) RE: tweetlist question
Hi Rebecca, Maybe there's a better way to accomplish this, but I generally use the go to username option under the more tab in the app. Once you're in there, you can type their twitter user name in the search box and it'll take you to their timeline. From there, you can follow. You can also do it if you're inside a tweet of theirs, but the important point is to somehow be in their profile or timeline. Hope that helps! Re: IPad display
They use the larger screen and resolution to put more on the screen like they do with any other computer. in Settings, it is true that the pick list runs down the left side and the active section is in the panel towards the right. Run your finger down the left to something else and double tap it and the content of the right panel changes to that immediately. Mail works similarly. Someo lder apps will remain in portrait small mode if it was developed for the iPhone and not updated for the iPad. Some do different versions for the pad to make use of the bigger screen as described. You Tube App Will No Longer Be on IOS6
Hello List, I just finished reviewing the tech news on the BBC app and You Tube is not included in the new IOS6 release slated in the fall. The reason Apple gave was that the license to produce the app had expired (Ha-Ha). However, Apple stated that Google was going to develop an app for the phone. It appears that the consumer (us) will be inconvenience as Apple stated we can go and access You Tube from our browser to view videos and upload through the phone or a tablet. The article didn't state when Google would produce an app for the iPhone. Apple is so adamant in disposing and breaking ties with Google, such as what we will see with the new maps in IOS 6. It also stated that there is no indication that Apple will replace the video sharing app with one of their own. The author of this article is thinking that Apple will completely drop Google as the default search engine in the future. Apple believes that all of us will have Siri at our disposal to ask to access videos. Also, there may be more advertisement seen on the You Tube clips in the future. Now that I have explain what is in the article, I would like to know for those that have been privilege to work with IOS6 if not being able to access the You Tube app has made the experience of viewing You Tube clips more difficult and more of a hassle? I am only asking an opinion and not asking for anyone to breach the beta testing contact. Any feedback would be appreciated, as many of us may not want to upgrade to IOS6 if they are using an iPhone4 or lower. Thanks in advance. RE: iPhone battery question
If it can, it's never happened to me. I sometimes use my Iphone while charging, and have never had any problems. switching from pay as you go to subscription on line 2?
hello all, does anyone know how one can switch from the pay as you go, to the subscription plan on the line 2 service? according to one of the e-mails I got from them, one can do this, but there doesn't seem to be any info, either in the line 2 app, or in the e-mail that mentioned it, about how to actually do this. Re: iPhone battery question
Hi, I keep my iPhone plugged in most of the time. Apple said if it gets too warm to unplug it, but I have not had that happen.
