Urgent help managing subscriptions in the ap store!

Hi all! Can someone please tell me how to get to the subscriptions page in the 
ap store on the phone? I need to cancel a subscription right away before I'm 
charged 150 dollars! I accidentally hit the wrong one!!! help??? please??? I 
know there's a place in the ap storh but can't find it now! store!!!

changing the from field in the standard mail app

Hi all.  When composing a message in the standard mail app, is there a way to 
change the from address without having to go in to each mailbox to send the 
message?  I know there used to be a way you could cycle through your from 
addresses in order to send the message from the right account even if you were 
in a different one.

iTunes again -- viewing the contents of my library by album or artist

Hi All,

Sorry to have to revisit this topic, but I am sure someone will have
the answer, so please indulge me for a moment.

I'm using iTunes 12 and Jaws 15 and I want to view the contents of my
iTunes library organized by album. Could someone explain for me how to
accomplish this? No matter what I try, I can't seem to see any
category other than songs.

Also, if there is a good podcast for using iTunes 12 with Jaws I would
appreciate the link.

I'm sure there is a From button,  and for sure using it brings up a list, 
all be it somewhere lower down the screen just above or below the subject 
line, and you select with flicking up and down.

People should definitely report problems with the apps they've purchased 
and request a refund if it isn't accessible. Apple has the discretion to 
grant these refunds and has obviously done it in the past.


People have stated or implied that Apple's return policy allows you to 
get refunds for aps that don't turn out to be accessible. This is not 
stated anywhere in Apple's return policy or their terms and conditions 
for the iTunes store in the US or North America. In fact, the exact 
opposite is stated, i.e. all sales are final.


Getting a refund because Apple chooses to grant one is much different 
than Apple codifying this in their return policy or their terms and 
conditions. No one should assume these refunds are automatic, and no one 
should think that Apple is obligated to refund the purchase of an app 
that doesn't turn out to be accessible.


IMHO, we're doing iPhone users a disservice by spreading misinformation 
that Apple includes the refund of nonaccessible apps in their return 
policy or their T's and C's. I sure wouldn't want some blind person to 
take a chance on an app thinking they can always get a refund if it 
doesn't turn out to be accessible and then end up talking to the wrong 
person at Apple and not getting that purchase refunded.

I Googled but couldn't find Apple's return policy for Europe, but I did find a

to Apple's change in their return policy in Europe to include App Store 
purchases. It also states in this article that the return policy in North 
America has not changed, and that all sales are final except at the discretion 
of Apple.

BTW, the two hour window to return apps purchased from Google Play is not just 
in Europe but covers the US if not the rest of the world as well.

I had no problem with Voice Dream Reader or Writer after updating.
I rmembered that when Writer came out, you had to run Voice Dream Reader first 
in order for the voices to work in Writer.
So, I updated Writer first, but did not open it.
I then updated Reader, opened it, downloaded the two purchased voices I use the 
most and started reading a book. Amy, was my default voice before the update. I 
downloaded Amy and James after the update.

I then went and opened Writer, and Amy read just fine in Writer.

I have had no success with purchased voices in Writer despite deleting the app 
and installing it again and turning phone off and on again. My newly 
re-downloaded purchased voices work fine in Reader and now not at all in 
Writer. Winston says there is a bug and he will fix it! Harry

in the receipt email for an app and on that page it states clearly that the 
return or better said refund is 90 days.

Ibooks not showing up

Hello all,
Today, I purchased two iBooks, since they were the same price as the Kindle 
offerings, and I have lots of iTunes store credit.both books are supposedly 
downloaded onto my phone, which is where I made the purchase. Yet, when I go 
into "my books," I do not see them. In fact, the only thing I see out of the 
many many iBooks I have purchased, is one PDF file.in the "purchased" tab, I do 
see loads of books. Many of them are supposedly downloaded onto the phone. But 
in the my books category, nothing doing. And I don't see my collections either, 
and I have several. What am I missing here?

Hello all,
Today, I purchased two iBooks, since they were the same price as the Kindle 
offerings, and I have lots of iTunes store credit.both books are supposedly 
downloaded onto my phone, which is where I made the purchase. Yet, when I go 
into "my books," I do not see them. In fact, the only thing I see out of the 
many many iBooks I have purchased, is one PDF file.in the "purchased" tab, I do 
see loads of books. Many of them are supposedly downloaded onto the phone. But 
in the my books category, nothing doing. And I don't see my collections either, 
and I have several. What am I missing here?

Thank you, Keith. I feel rather stupid. You were correct. I did see the button 
that said PDFs, but it didn't say selected. Of course, it was, which became 
evident when I double tap it and saw the list. I guess I'm too used to the set 
up on the iPad, but I still feel pretty stupid. Oh well. It is Monday.

Hi Mary. My numerous iBOOKS books are all present and accounted for in
the my books tab. I can open and read them without difficulty. The
purchased category has buttons to select between showing all purchased
books or just those not presently on your iPHONE. In the my books tab,
you can switch between list and grid views. Both styles seem to work
fine for me. I wonder if you're signed in to your account properly.
There don't seem to be any settings I can change which let me
replicate your problem. Pre-ordered books don't show up until they're
released but I've found no difficulty in distinguishing between
regular purchases and pre-orderred books. The good news is that you
shouldn't have to purchase anything over again. Provided you're able
to log into your apple id, the worst case would be having to
re-download all your books. As a fellow book-lover, you hae my
sympathies and best wishes for a speedy solution.

Issue with newly purchased voice on voice dream reader

Hello all,
I recently did update voice dream reader, because it was necessary to update 
that before updating boy stream writer. I subsequently decided to purchase the 
new Ashley voice using my iPhone. All went well, and the voice works as 
expected.
Now, I have updated voice dream reader on my iPad, and installed a couple of my 
favorite voices. However, the Ashley voice did not show up as having been 
purchased. And, when I look under and voices, I see Ashley, and it asks me to 
purchase it again. I have never had this problem in the past. Voices purchased 
on one device were always transferable to another device by simply downloading 
them under the manage my voices tap. Has anyone purchased a voice since 
updating voice dream reader? And have you been able to get that voice on more 
than one device?

The bugs are still there.  Updating is strictly up to you.
If it weren't for new features like family-sharing, I wouldn't have 
upgraded.  But, I see more Voiceover lockups and crashes with 8.1.1 and it 
hasn't really been corrected even up to 8.1.3 now.

That is kind of a tough question. I did get to hear the sample. I did not get 
the error that people have talked about. I suppose that some people might think 
Ashley sounds rather flat. If you are for example, a fan of the ivona is Sally 
voice, you probably won't like Ashley. She is sort of like a female James, as 
far as intonation goes. But I still think James is better.I would use her for 
reading nonfiction if I didn't want to use James. I don't think I would like 
her for novels with emotional scenes in them. But, to each their own of course.

I just also purchased Ashley on my personal iPhone.
I then went to  my work iPhone and logged in with my home Apple ID and I was 
able to download Ashley without any problem.
Are you sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices?

I would generally agree with what Mary said. I used to like Laura from Acapella 
for an American female voice, but the Quality of Ashley's voice is way better.
My wife also likes Julie, but she is a little too chipper sounding to me.
I do not like Sally at all.
At this point, even though I have purchased several other voices, the only ones 
I plan on using now are Amy from Ivona, and James or Ashley from NeoSpeech.

Where do you find the Ashley voice? I've just gone through all voices on my 
Voice Dream Reader, listing I'd guess 20 to 30 voices, and I didn't find 
Ashley. And, I went through the whole list 3 times! I know I'll feel stupid 
when I find out, but, dang, it just doesn't seem to be there.

I purchased an external battery pack for my 5s. The advertisement indicated
it works with all Iphones. They did not send a lightening cable. Can I use
my lightening cable without worrying about damaging my phone?

Yes you can. Do not worry about damaging either the phone or the battery 
pack. They expect you to use cables of your own, hence them only 
supplying you the micro USB cable to charge the pack.

None of them that I have looked into buying come with a lightning cable. You

I have only one Apple ID. So I don't believe I could be signed in as anybody 
else but me. Smile. I will try again on the iPad. And I'm not sure what I will 
do if Ashley remains unavailable. Maybe I will just call the Apple people and 
see what they say.

I still like Kendra from I Vona. I know we had a big discussion about that a 
few months ago. So I always say to each his or her own. But at this point for 
me, it would be Kendra or Ashley on the female side and James on the male side. 
And if Apple ever lets us have Alex, I would also use him.

Hi Keith,
You have updated your voice dream, right? Ashley only appears after you update. 
Then you have to reinstall any purchased voices. And if you go to add new 
voices, Ashley should be there. Interestingly, she was in a different place in 
the voice order on my iPhone as opposed to my iPad mini. So, I'm not sure what 
to say about where to find her. But she was definitely there in US English 
voices.

I can't wait until the next VoiceDream Reader update. Hopefully they'll add 
Sharon from Acapela to the list of voices. I like her. She kinda sounds like 
Vocalizer Ava but better and with sorta a lisp. It's not noticeable all the 
time but it's there. Maybe when Assistiveware releases her for Mac Winston 
will release her for VDR.

Well, I finally decided to just buy Ashley again on my iPad, on the theory that 
it wouldn't let me do it. And sure enough, after I signed in with my Apple ID I 
was informed that I had already purchased this voice, and what I like to 
download it for free on this device. Yes. I did. And everything is now in 
order. I have no clue why it did not show up in my purchased voices. 
I was unaware that there were any voices available for the Mac other than those 
which Apple offers. There are things like Tom, for instance. Are there others? 
Are they for sale?I would love to have Tatiana for the Mac, and I would also 
love to have James for the Mac. But so far as I'm aware there aren't any 
Neospeech or I won't voices on the Mac. And I didn't think there were any from 
a cappella either.

It's true. Neospeech and Ivona aren't available for Mac, but Acapela and the 
Nuance Vocalizer Expressive voices like Ava, Samantha and of course Tom are. 
I'm using Acapela Sharon for NVDA right now and contrary to the other 
Acapela voices, she's the most human sounding of them. Anyway, this is kinda 
getting off topic so if you want to ontinue this conversation, you can email

I am continually getting an error message that my voice mail password is 
incorrect.  Twice I have asked for a new password and then changed it to one I 
prefer and I still get these error messages.

Has anyone else dealt with this and if so were you able to solve it?  I thought 
I'd ask here before calling Apple support.

You have updated your voice dream, right? Ashley only appears after you update. 
Then you have to reinstall any purchased voices. And if you go to add new 
voices, Ashley should be there. Interestingly, she was in a different place in 
the voice order on my iPhone as opposed to my iPad mini. So, I'm not sure what 
to say about where to find her. But she was definitely there in US English 
voices.

So you changed the subject line just to correct the capitalization of 
iTunes? It took me a while to figure out that was the only change you 
made. I guess my hearing isn't as sensitive as yours, since I didn't 
notice it myself. I'm not sure we need to be this picky about the 
spelling of our subject lines. I mean this wouldn't affect anyone's 
ability to search for this information in the archives.

Voice Dream Writer 1.10 Fixes "Close File" and "Show/hide Word Finder" Problems

Hi there. I am using the latest version of both and am able to use it just 
fine. The iTunes Store does work, but it is not using the newly enhanced browse 
mode which is included as part of window eyes version nine.

Not only that, but if Charles wanted to get that technical, he should have also 
changed window eyes to Window-Eyes. I think the Charles is assuming that 
everyone uses the mix capitalization feature that many screen readers use as a 
default. What this means is that when it is a lowercase I followed by an 
uppercase letter, it will separate the word in the way it pronounces it by an 
extra syllable. Hence iTunes and itunes. However, all of this to say that if 
anyone search is the archives, they will not miss finding messages whether 
certain things are capitalized or hyphenated or not. So let's move onto more 
relevant and meaningful discussions.

Enunciation is sometimes important to make your meaning clear.  Also iTunes 
is correct, while itunes or other typos give the impression of not knowing 
what you're talking about, even though it may not be the case.  I would be 
embarrassed if I were to write to Apple about Itunes, and I'll bet that I 
wouldn't be able to get employment with the impression I give.

Hello Dave. Maybe I thought that passing along apps which might be useful to 
some and which have definitely gotten a voiceover improvement might be of 
interest to some on the list. Yes of course I realize that people can use the 
shortcuts that they have to set up which are a feature built into the Apple 
settings and has been a feature for a few years.however, this is a way for 
people to create shortcuts that are actual buttons on the keyboard. For example 
you can create a shortcut that has your entire mailing address, contact 
information, and phone number, and that might not be as easily done using the 
keyboard shortcuts of iPhone. Lastly, the most important reason I posted this 
information to the list is simply to share that there is another app for 
something. It doesn't matter if it is redundant or if some feel that it is a 
waste or not useful. If that was truly the case and no other apps were welcome 
on the list, then everybody would be using only the stock apps provided by the 
iPhone. This is why there are multiple calendar apps, weather apps, etc.

Charles, no one is going to be looking for a job with Apple based on their 
writing skills on this list. So personally I think you are making a bigger deal 
over something that is very trivial. I know very many people who are very 
intelligent and who have professional jobs, who write for a living even, and 
yet their email style of writing is atrocious by grammar standards. I seriously 
doubt that you would be turned down for a job with Apple if you wrote iTunes 
with a small T. Seriously man, let's talk about more important things on the 
list.

I can confirm that this works. As soon as you start hearing the descending town 
which indicates a wrong answer, do the two finger swipe up at gesture. The 
question will be read as well as all the answers. The wrong one that you chose 
will say selected, however the correct one will also say selected.

Hello guys again,

I’ve been playing with my talking atlas app between shoveling snow off my 
sidewalk and deck. It is 32 degrees here in Northern Vermont for the first time 
in over a month.

 

There is a very accessible trivia game that proves my ignorance. I can’t wait 
until the grandchildren come over for dinner this evening and I can see if I 
know more than a fifth grader.

  I do not think it could work well on an IPhone because one of the most 
interesting features is moving your finger over the world map and having the 
oceans and countries named. Many of the countries are small and my fingers are 
large.

 

I found it is best using the app with voice over turned off.  Two finger swipes 
up and down gets you to the menus and a two finger swipe to the right or left 
moves you through the choices. A double tap selects the item.

 

I had problems getting back to the main menu so I pressed the home button, 
opened the app switcher and closed talking atlas completely. then when I opened 
the app again I could get to the settings and store menu. Unless you want maps 
of India, there are no other choices.

 Of the few countries I checked out, there is an extensive history list of 
important dates. Other information can be found out for free on apps like World 
facts.  But this app plays the national anthem of every country and describes 
the flag completely.

 

There is another great option: choose a country like Japan, put your finger on 
the map and it will tell you to go, north, go east, go east, go south, until, 
Congratulations, you found Japan.  A really fun way to find out where countries 
are located. An for this American, if it doesn’t have a MacDonalds or a 
Wal-Mart, I probably don’t know where it is on the map.

Just to start. talking Atlas doesn’t play nice with it’s own speech and voice 
over. I had to have my wife rescue me.  Also, don’t turn the speech rate up in 
the settings menu at first. 0.1 is normal speech and 1.0 is about three hundred 
percent.  

However, once vo was turned off, the world atlas is speaking every country as 
my finger moves over it.  that gives me more access to information than I have 
had for 30 years when I could actually see an atlas.  The app is already worth 
30 dollars to me.

Yes, and even a full-size  iPad makes for a pretty tiny map considering that a 
good world map on paper is about 48 by 30 inches, that makes for a diagonal of 
just over 56 inches (almost 5 feet) which is a big difference to the 9.7 inches 
of an iPad!

This might be difficult because in order to display maps with realistic size 
and detail, you need a certain amount of screen real estate, so to speak.

Hello guys again,

I’ve been playing with my talking atlas app between shoveling snow off my 
sidewalk and deck. It is 32 degrees here in Northern Vermont for the first time 
in over a month.

 

There is a very accessible trivia game that proves my ignorance. I can’t wait 
until the grandchildren come over for dinner this evening and I can see if I 
know more than a fifth grader.

  I do not think it could work well on an IPhone because one of the most 
interesting features is moving your finger over the world map and having the 
oceans and countries named. Many of the countries are small and my fingers are 
large.

 

I found it is best using the app with voice over turned off.  Two finger swipes 
up and down gets you to the menus and a two finger swipe to the right or left 
moves you through the choices. A double tap selects the item.

 

I had problems getting back to the main menu so I pressed the home button, 
opened the app switcher and closed talking atlas completely. then when I opened 
the app again I could get to the settings and store menu. Unless you want maps 
of India, there are no other choices.

Of the few countries I checked out, there is an extensive history list of 
important dates. Other information can be found out for free on apps like World 
facts.  But this app plays the national anthem of every country and describes 
the flag completely.

 

There is another great option: choose a country like Japan, put your finger on 
the map and it will tell you to go, north, go east, go east, go south, until, 
Congratulations, you found Japan.  A really fun way to find out where countries 
are located. An for this American, if it doesn’t have a MacDonalds or a 
Wal-Mart, I probably don’t know where it is on the map.

question about voice dream writer

Hi all,

I have voice dream writer on my phone. I also read  the description about this 
app before I decided to download it on to my phone. 

Since this is a writer app  what I want to know is   how do you start writing 
in this app and how to open a document so I can start writing in it? I don't 
want to sound stupid hear  but if one doesn't know then we ask right. So that's 
what I'm doing.I know   that you can proof read a document, spell check a 
word and   do so much more in it. I don't want to be judged or cridicised hear 
by anyone because I don't know something. This app will definitely improve my 
writing and spelling and help correct any mistakes I do make. Any help would be 
appreciated.

How subjective synthetic voices are to people is evident in how much many like

Alternatively, you could use the column browser which displays a list of all 
your albums. To activate the column browser, you must select "Songs" in that 
list Robert mentions, then go to the View menu, find Column Browser and enable 
it. This is still my preferred way to display my music library since I can 
choose to display only certain Genres, Artists or Albums.

When you open the app, at the top left corner is the File manager button. To 
the right of that is an add document button.
Double tap on that and you will have a create new document or open from 
external location button.
Double tap on create new document and you will have a text field that will be 
the name of the document, flick right to the OK button and then you will be in 
your document text area.

upgrading to a 6 plus

My question is this ahead of the upgrade I am wanting contacts and the like to

cloud.  I have enabled this on the phone or at least I think I have.  Does it 
do that automatically
or is there another step I need to take to make it happen? Also, when I get the
