Re: Search of audible library turns up nothing

2015-07-28 Thread Mary Otten
Yes, I remove the app from the app switcher. Then I signed out of the app and
back into the app. All searches yield the same zero result even though as I
said, when I scroll through the screen my library seems to be there in all it's
long, long, long glory.

I have a very extensive Audible library. I just tried searching for an author,
several ofwhose books I know I have, and I got zero results. This was searching
in the cloud in my library. I am using the latest audible app on an iPad mini
two. I signed out and signed back in and did the same search with the same
result. I can see row after row of books in my library in the cloud. But
scrolling through that mess to find this author is not going to be a very
pleasant experience. Is there a workaround that will enable me to once again be
able to search my library?

Adding a playlist to my iPhone using iTunes for Windows

2015-07-28 Thread Wayne Merritt
All,
I have created a playlist from within iTunes 12.1 on my Windows 7
computer using JAWS 16. iTunes totally confounds me; I can't for the
life of me find any way to get the playlist to my phone. Can anyone
offer simple steps on how to do this? I have connected the phone to
the computer twice and synced several times within iTunes but no
change yet. I really would like to get this list of songs on my phone
to play while getting ready for work. Using an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.4,
for whatever that's worth.

Thanks,
Wayne Merritt

Search of audible library turns up nothing

2015-07-28 Thread Mary Otten
I have a very extensive Audible library. I just tried searching for an author,
several ofwhose books I know I have, and I got zero results. This was searching
in the cloud in my library. I am using the latest audible app on an iPad mini
two. I signed out and signed back in and did the same search with the same
result. I can see row after row of books in my library in the cloud. But
scrolling through that mess to find this author is not going to be a very
pleasant experience. Is there a workaround that will enable me to once again be
able to search my library?

RE: Aftershokz and Blindsquare

2015-07-28 Thread Thom Spittle
The only drawback to the headset is for those that are picky about their music.
Aftershokz will sound alright, but not fantastic.

Also, when using the Aftershokz in loud places, it is a bit hard to hear them
since your ears are open to bring in all of the noise.

Hi folks,
Ok so i got inspired to finally get an Aftershokz headset because i’ve heard
that that is the best headset for use with Blindsquare. Don’t get me wrong, i
love my Plantronics Voyager Legend dearly but there are aspects with this
headset that doesn’t seem to make it work well with the audio menu of
Blindsquare so my question is: If i were to get an Aftershokz headset what
model works best with Blindsquare? I would love to be able to use the bluetooth
one but i must be sure before i barge away and buy it that it really does work
with the audio menu of Blindsquare.
Any help much appreciated.

RE: Question about file sharing in iTunes 12.2.1

2015-07-28 Thread Chris Smart

You're not the only person to have noticed this. Perhaps they're too
focused on iOS and OS X is slipping.

virtual one.

Too many tabs, and I most definitely preferred the previous app listing
as compared to what we now have.  Seems to me that Apple wants to
make life difficult with iTunes anyway.  They seem to keep taking
accessible features away.

It’s not only the file sharing that isn’t possible any more. I used
to be able to tab into my list of available apps and install or uninstall
anywhere from one to many at the same time by simply going down the list
and checking the ones I wanted or didn’t want. Now that list view only
shows app sizes and while I can tab around and find apps as well as
install or remove buttons, it’s really clunky and certainly not
efficient as before. Oh well, let’s hope that in time Apple and the
screenreader companies get this fixed again.

Well, this is where the accessibility breaks down. The list of apps under
file sharing does not read. So, if you arrow down the list, you hear
nothing. However, If you are on an app that does not read, and you tab a
number of times, You will get to the file and the date of the file that
relates to that silent app you are on in the list. There is then an add
button and a save as button. Of course, if you are not on the right app,
you have to back tab to the silent list again, arrow up or down, and tab
to the file name all over again. Yikes! I do hope they fix this one.

time I am ready to describe it, they will release a new version of iTunes

It is pretty accessible.

I used to be pretty expert at their older app. I have played around with
Version 3.2 and it is decently accessible.

I don't recall if you have to label the bottom buttons any longer as you did in
version 2. You can find the regular channels as well as the on-demand shows.

I think you can also use MySXM to customize your listening experience on the
various channels, although I haven't changed any of my preferences since I
updated to the latest version. So, take this last comment as not compoletely
confirmed.

Re: Not getting notivications on my watch

2015-07-28 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Amy,

It sounds like you've already done this, but go into the Watch app on your
phone, choose Notifications, and make sure the apps you want to notify you on
the watch are on. Also go to Sounds and Haptics on your watch,
and make sure the volume and haptic strength are set high. I also like to turn
on Prominent Haptic to make the feedback more noticeable. I suggest doing this
on the watch because the slider for adjusting haptic strength seems to work
better in the watch app than on the phone. Also, if you're using your iPhone,
notifications always go to the phone rather than the watch, so be sure the
screen on your iPhone is locked when you test out the feature. I hope this is
of some help.

Best,
Anna

Did you make sure you allow KNFB access to the camera? It should have asked,
but make sure by going to Settings and Privacy, then check which apps are
allowed to access the camera.

Carol,

Before you delete and redownload the app, make sure you check that you didn’t
accidently put it in batch mode in which case you would take a picture, but the
app wouldn’t recognize the image right away because it’s waiting for you to
take a bunch of images and then do all the processing later.

Let's try this again.
The aftershokz bluez 2 work very well with blind square.
The left earpiece works just like the remote button on the wired Apple

Hi folks,
Ok so i got inspired to finally get an Aftershokz headset because i’ve heard
that that is the best headset for use with Blindsquare.

Hi folks,
Ok so i got inspired to finally get an Aftershokz headset because i’ve heard
that that is the best headset for use with Blindsquare.

RE: KNFB READER

2015-07-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Carol,

Before you delete and redownload the app, make sure you check that you didn’t
accidently put it in batch mode in which case you would take a picture, but the
app wouldn’t recognize the image right away because it’s waiting for you to
take a bunch of images and then do all the processing later.

Hi All, Can you recommend an app which cross-fades from one track into the next, and which works with the new Music app? I'm still using Muxica. I'm afraid it may not work under IOS 8.4, so is anyone else still using it successfully, and either way, does anyone know of other good apps that will do this in 8.4? Not getting notivications on my watch

2015-07-28 Thread Amy Ruel
Hello all,

I have just purchased an Apple Watch and have it set up correctly, I think!

I have the apps I want the phone to access set up in notifications,
messaging and mail. My watch works, is connected to my phone, is not muted.
However, I don't get sound or haptic feedback when messages come in or mail
is received. I have tried sending myself email to test this to no avail. My
battery is currently at 92%, so I don't think that this is the issue. My
watch is paired and volume is at 100%.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Amy
