Problem with BARD app on New iPhone 5S

2015-09-01 Thread Judy Holloway
Hi. Yesterday I updated from my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 5s. Now I am unable to
log in with the BARD app. My log-in information is correct. I fill it in and
hit the "done" button, but nothing happens. Also, nothing happens when I hit
the "agree" button to agree to the terms and conditions. This app worked
fine on my 5S iPhone two days ago. Any advice on what to do next?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmm, I'm confused then. You said that you can only listen to regular
season games, which isn't true, because you can indeed listen to playoff
games as well.

I definitely used to listen to pre-season games with Audio Pass. I've
choosen not to pay for Game Pass, so I'm not sure if you can listen to
pre-season games with Game Pass or not, but from what I've read, you
should be able to, it's only a problem with the service right now which
is keeping people from getting the audio feeds of the pre-season games.

I've accomplished something today, which is always good.

I hope the NFL at least does what the MLB does on the Apple TV regarding radio feeds, and maybe even more.

2015-09-01 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi.

I hope the NFL will at least give us the radio feeds of the teams live on
the Apple TV. MLB does this. You don't get any video, but you can hear the
game you want with MLB on the Apple TV. The radio feeds aren't archived, so
you have to use the video feeds with MLB. I think the reason for this is
the MLB doesn't clean up the feeds, and the audio feed comes on sometimes as
much as 30 minutes early, and much of this time there's no audio. Hopefully
the NFL will give us radio feeds on the Apple TV, and even better, I hope
archived games can be heard.

Just some thoughts.

Actually, when I was on Apple TV yesterday, it did show listings for the full
games for preseason. Of course, you had to purchase game past but it does
appear that one can watch the preseason games at least I don't archive basis.
Now I'm not sure about why broadcast but you could certainly watch archived

I'm just curious. Why do you want to convert your MP3 files to another format?
I would advise against doing this, as it will lead to a severe degradation and
quality. Are you aware that the iPhone can play MP3 files?

me to go to remote in the tab bar in iTunes, I've searched and searched and
can't find it anywhere. Any help would be very gratefully received.
Cheers
Alex

Links in emails that will not activate when double tapped revisited

2015-09-01 Thread Mary Otten
A few days ago, I started a thread about this topic of links in an email the
will not activate the web browser when you double tap them. At that time, I
reported that the only thing that would fix the problem was a restart of my
phone. I had this problem two days in a row. Then, yesterday, I went through an
entire day of rather heavy use without experiencing the problem. Today,
however, the problem reasserted itself this afternoon. I think I have tried all
the things that people suggested, including explore by touch to the link,
making sure I go past the Lincoln coming back to it, having the rotor set to
links and finding it that way. I experienced this problem in an email from
Facebook and in an email from Amazon. And once again, restarting the phone
fixed the problem. I really don't think it is anything I am doing or not doing
with respect to the links or voiceover. I have no idea what the problem is or
why I should be having it but there you go. I hope nobody else has it. Maybe
something in my phone is going wacky. Maybe it is really time for an upgrade.
Smile.

AppleWatch doesn't always speak time with single tap

2015-09-01 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Hi,

My AppleWatch Sport doesn't always speak the time when I tap the screen.

There are times when I'm sure I'm not tapping the screen quite right. That's
not what I'm talking about.

There are times I tap the screen and it speaks the time, and flicks read other
complications.

Then, there are times when I tap the watch, hear a sound that the clockface has
been activated, but no time is spoken. Flicks right or left read the
appropriate information from the complications and flicks back will read the
time, as desired.

I'm curious about the 3rd experience listed above.

Why is this happening and can I fix it? i.e., so the watch always announces the
time with a tap of the watch?

Thanks in advance, Keith

Hi,
Go to the “More” button, down at the very most bottom right, and
double tap it. Then, flick right until you find where it says
“Most Recent,” and double tap that.
After doing this, the most recent posts will be at the top, and
the more you scroll down, the older they will get. That’s the
only way I know to do sort of what you’re asking.
hope this helps,

Re: bragging on KNFB reader

2015-09-01 Thread Wayne Merritt
Another KNFB Reader brag: I used it about 2 months ago in order to
recognize an image based PDF file of my apartment lease. It read 80
percent of the document correctly. The parts that it messed up were
where someone had physically written in text or numbers. Other than
that, the rest of the lease was good. I've never before hoped to get
an image based PDF file, but I was extremely pleased that the KNFB
Reader did such a great job. I did learn from reading the lease that
the complex will make electronic leases available upon request. I
mention this because I can refer to that section next year when I ask
for an electronic copy of my lease.

The NFL app is pretty darn accessible, actually. I’ll agree though that the NBA

now, but I'm not sure if the Internet only package will stream any sports.

VoiceOver doesn’t read it. I was able to read it, and I got it activated, but

Re: iTunes iPhone and JAWS

2015-09-01 Thread hebertisaac99
Hello Jim,

I haven't used iTunes for windows in a while so I can't answer all
three questions but I can answer the second one.
First if you are trying to sync music to your phone then first connect your
iPhone to your computer.
Next once iTunes opens tab to the iPhone button and then press space.
Next tab to the treeview and then use the up or down arrow keys to find music.
Then tab to the sync music check box and then press space to ccheck the box.
Next after that when you tab again there will be two radio buttons. The first
radio button is called sync entire music library
this allows you to sync your entire music library. If this is what you want
to do then press space to check the box. Then there is a second radio button
called sync selective playlists. This allows you if you have already created a
playlist to sync just that playlist to your phone.
Now if you are going to choose the sync entire music library radio button then
after pressing space to check the radio button then from that point tab until
you get to the apply button and then press space to confirm. Now if you choose
the second option sync selective playlists then you will tabto a table where
then you will see your list of playlists that you have created. Once there use
the up or down arrow keys to find the playllists you want to sync and then
press space.
Then tab to the apply button and then press space to confirm.

Re: A real problem now in Twitter

2015-09-01 Thread Kathy Brandt
Update: if you hold your finger steady on the follow button with the finger of
one hand, turn voiceover off, tap once, then turn voiceover back on, you have a
chance of getting the profile. Doing this the right way is key, because
unfortunately this is an exact science, not an ideal situation. I get
inconsistent results, but was able to view profiles.

Hi Feliciano,

I thought I had been through all of the settings, and I did not see anything
about not downloading images for off-line use. I wonder where that is located.
I also didn't see anything about how long to keep articles, one day, never
delete, etc. So clearly, there are things in settings that I'm not seeing on my
iPhone. I wonder why. Any hints?

RE: remote app

2015-09-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Sorry if you thought my questions were rude, they were certainly not meant to
be. But what you said about a remote app, iTunes and Jaws just doesn't ring a
bell with me so I was asking how the remote app I know from Apple relates to
Jaws and what you are trying to accomplish.
If others understand your message I'm sure you'll get the answers you are
looking for. If not maybe somebody else will ask you in a "less rude" way to
explain further.

Take care,
Sieghard

What remote app are you talking about? Apple has an remote app for the iPhone,
but what does it have to do with Jaws? If you could give a bit more information
as to exactly which app this is and what exactly you are trying to accomplish

Can anyone please tell me how I set up the remote app with jaws? The app tells
me to go to remote in the tab bar in iTunes, I've searched and searched and
can't find it anywhere. Any help would be very gratefully received.
Cheers

Re: Newsify

2015-09-01 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Hi, once you open the article that you want to read, what I tend to do is
activate the share button and open with Safari. There is also a view original
button on the upper section of the screen if you prefer that. I have my
articles to remain there for one day after I read them, I know there is a never
option as well. Not sure how that works. As far as images go, inside settings
there is sync settings there you can toggle off download images for off-line
use. I have contacted the developer in regards to their being a text mode only
because it would help lower my cellular data usage. Unfortunately, there is no
way to disable images completely.

I don't think this is for real, the message, title of the person and the fact

Newsify

2015-09-01 Thread Mary Otten
For those of you who use this RSS reader, I wonder if there is a way, when you
double tap on an article you want to read, to go directly to the full article,
rather than seeing the summary, then double tapping on the link which takes you
to the full article. And it would be especially nice if that article would be
stripped of ads, images and other unwanted things.
My other question concerns marking articles as red, so they will be deleted.
Thus far, the only way I have found to do this efficiently is through the
"additional actions" button, one of which is to mark all as red. But I wonder I
thought there was a setting that you could simply have it marked as red as you
scrolled through the article titles list, rather like what happens in the email
messages list. I turn this on in settings, but it does not seem to have the
desired effect. Is there a way to automatically have those things marked as
read that you scroll through? Or must you simply delete all? I certainly don't
want to manually mark each item as red. That seems very wasteful.
Time-consuming.

That’s funny, cuz i was fooled by that very button, lol.

As far as the code goes, it reads some funny URL image-type thing, and each
letter of the code is after that. So it’ll say the weird image thing before
each letter. That’s really the best I can explain it.

Oh yeah, one other good bit of advice. If you’ve signed into the app, don’t be
fooled by the Sign In option in settings. If you select it you have to enter a
new code.

Can anyone please tell me how I set up the remote app with jaws? The app
tells me to go to remote in the tab bar in iTunes, I've searched and
searched and can't find it anywhere. Any help would be very gratefully
received.
Cheers

RE: messaging, international exchanges

2015-09-01 Thread deidre muccio
Sieghard

To follow-up the $5 worth of charges on my bill were for texting a regular
mobile phone whose user lives in New Zealand. I get charged 25 cents per call.
I recall the person at the other end saying that she got charged ten cents a
call. Meanwhile she has learned to use her iphone so that is good. Now texting
between our 2 phones is free.

My guess is that your accidental call to your friend in New Zealand was not a
Facetime call but went as a regular phone call. Once again, Facetime or
Facetime Audio calls go via data and use either your 3G or LTE data allowance
or use WiFi if you are connected to a WiFi. If you or the other person has no
WiFi connection or have cellular data turned off the call simply fails, but
there is no way a carrier would bill you for the call. You may get billed for
going over your monthly cellular data allowance if you use a lot of data, but
just like when you make a Skype call to another Skype user, the call itself is
free.

MMS stands for “multimedia messaging service” and they are messages which can
contain media like pictures, video and so on. iMessages are basically advanced
MMS messages between iOS users as they can contain all sorts of media and have
no character limit. Also, iMessages are free whereas your carrier may charge
for MMS messages. Here is the basic description from Wikipedia.

Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a standard way to send messages that
include multimedia content to and from mobile phones. It extends the core SMS
(Short Message Service) capability that allowed exchange of text messages only
up to 160 characters in length.

The most popular use is to send photographs from camera-equipped handsets. It
is also used on a commercial basis by media companies as a method of delivering
news and entertainment content and by retail brands as a tool for delivering
scannable coupon codes, product images, videos and other information. Unlike
text only SMS, commercial MMS can deliver a variety of media including up to
forty seconds of video, one image, multiple images via slideshow or audio plus
unlimited characters.

in the latest versions and a few versions back, once you click "more"

Hope that helps.

Hi,
Go to the “More” button, down at the very most bottom right, and
double tap it. Then, flick right until you find where it says
“Most Recent,” and double tap that.
After doing this, the most recent posts will be at the top, and
the more you scroll down, the older they will get. That’s the
only way I know to do sort of what you’re asking.
hope this helps,
Jeffrey

I am a designer at Intel and have recently worked on a project on wearables
for blind and low-vision people to navigate spaces with non-visual
feedback. I have created a short survey that would really help with our
next research directions. If you have 5-10 minutes, you can help out by

Accessible iOS scanner apps for radio feeds

Hi all, can anyone recommend a Voiceover friendly app that brings in live
scanner feeds, preferably not just the usual police, fire etc. Looking in the
