RE: Looking for some new ring tones

2017-04-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
First of all, no matter what app you use to make a ringtone or what website you
download them from, you will always and I emphasize "always" need iTunes to
sync them to your phone.
OK, I guess I should exclude the iTunes Store here because if you buy ringtones
from iTunes they go directly to your phone, but anything else needs to be
transferred/synced via iTunes unless you don’t mind spending $40 or whatever it
is to buy the Waltr2 application, it will also let you transfer stuff to your
iPhone. It is, however, really not so difficult to do this with iTunes.

Sieghard

Hey Bill,
Thanks I bought and downloaded the Ring Maker Pro App.
I made a ring tone that I want to save on my IPhone 5S. I couldn’t quite find
that option in the Ring Maker Pro app. So I found an option to share it through
email and emailed it to myself.
But once I received it in my inbox, I must of messed around for quite a bit,
but couldn’t find a way to save it to my IPhone.

I really suck with my ITunes on my Laptop running W7 and J16.0. so how can I go
about an easy way in saving it on either my laptop’s ITunes, or by emailing it
to myself and saving it on my IPhone?

I personally like to use the app “Ringtone Maker Pro” because it will let me
use audio files installed in my music library as well as record custom messages
to serve as ring and text tones.

As a totally blind user, I find it completely accessible!

CAVEAT: When you search for the app in the App Store you’ll be looking for
“Ringtone Maker Pro” but the app will be entitled “Rmaker Pro” once installed
on your iOS device.

Evan, just in case you need it:

Go to Settings / General / Accessibility / Voice Over, then swipe down to rotor
and double tap.
On the rotor screen, just swipe down to volume and double tap it to select it
and add it to your rotor.

  Hello Evan,

I can only speak to the volume controls.

You would just use your device volume controls to either turn up the device
volume, or turn down the voice over volume.
Your device volume can be found in your control panel, and the voice over
volume can be found on the rotor. So you can actually do both, turn up the
sound of the music and turn down the volume of voice over.

  Hope this helps.

there.
Since I already had an account, I got all my stations when I logged in.
Unfortunately, I guess I’m spoiled by the version of Pandora I get when I
use Hope on my laptop, so I’m not sure I’m going to keep this app.
Firstly, it plays ads every two or three songs, which I don’t get with Hope.
Secondly, it doesn’t sound as good.
Thirdly, if I do keep it, I’d like to find the volume control if it has one
because it seems that the music is a good deal softer than my VoiceOver volume
and I’d like to even them up a bit if I can. The Hope version does have a
volume control. But I can’t find any volume control on this app. There’s a
Setting button, but when I double tap it, I can’t see that it does anything. If
it doesn’t have a volume control, then I may well just delete it, given it’s
other drawbacks over the Hope version, i.e. inferior sound and ads.
Thanks for any advice.

It is $3.99. They have made a point to make everything accessible. Good luck in

Yes, and I think Square means the video is within a square video frame instead
of Portrait or Landscape (which depends upon how you hold your phone during the
video process). I understand that YouTube videos are within a Square video
format, but you may want to confirm this with someone more familiar with

I'm not sure I know what you mean. In the picker where you flick up or down you
see photo and video, Square, slow Mo, Pano. Pano is for taking panoramic
pictures, slow Mo is for if you want to take them in slow motion,, I can't say
much more than that. After record video is the photo and video viewer, which
can get a little confusing, so I recommend that when you play your videos, you
go to the Photos app, which is where you can play them. After photo and video
viewer, it says 720P. I think that's how many pixels are being used in
recording your video. I think there is a way to change this, but it didn't
change when I double tapped the 720P; I don't know what the other number is
supposed to be, but I think if you just deal with the record video button, you
will record a normal video, not a high definition one. A high definition video
would take up more space on your device.

RE: What Do The Other Options Mean Besides 'Take Picture' and 'Record Video' In Camera App?

2017-04-14 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Yes, and I think Square means the video is within a square video frame instead
of Portrait or Landscape (which depends upon how you hold your phone during the
video process). I understand that YouTube videos are within a Square video
format, but you may want to confirm this with someone more familiar with
uploading videos to YouTube, or at least someone sighted.

Video' In Camera App?

My question is what do the other options mean in this combobox besides take

Re: downloading zedge ringtones

2017-04-14 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hi,

I didn't see an option for just emailing it to myself. Just a share option,
info, and possibly 1 other thing. But now I can't remember what that was. But I
know it was not the option to email it to myself. I found that under share, and
that's when it emailed me a link.

I am thinking of getting rid of the App anyway, because I can't seem to find
any music clips, when I search.

Re: The At Sign in Braille Screen Input

2017-04-14 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi,

The iPhone as such doesn't have a particular braille input. It depends which
braille code you are using. The default English braille code on the iPhone is
UEB. In UEB, the and sign is dot 4 followed by dots 1-2-3-4-6. This happens to
be the same as the Grade 2 one. In computer braille, it's just 1-2-3-4-6.

HTH,
Anna

Re: Question regarding backing up and restoring when purchasing a new phone

2017-04-14 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Beth,

Voice dream Reader has the option to save all your books in iCloud. I would
suggest doing that before you back up your phone. That way, the books will
download from iCloud into your new phone.

Since you're streaming your podcasts, I don't think you have to do anything
special to ensure that you will be able to listen to them after you start using
your new phone.

Best,
Anna

Re: Does the Pandora App Have a Volume Control?

2017-04-14 Thread Chris Chaffin
Evan, just in case you need it:

Go to Settings / General / Accessibility / Voice Over, then swipe down to rotor
and double tap.
On the rotor screen, just swipe down to volume and double tap it to select it
and add it to your rotor.

On android, open up the "navigation drawer" and under there he will find
settings. Double tap that and in my case, since I'm already logged in, I see a
"sign out". I suspect you should see a sign in or sign up. Good luck.

It seems to remember where you left off. I have one book knowing that I have
read quite a bit of. I have another book that I started and haven't gotten back
to you after two sessions. But it did remember the place in that book. What I
need to do is to go back to my first book while not through with my second book
and see if it remembers both of them.

Question regarding backing up and restoring when purchasing a new phone

2017-04-14 Thread Beth G
Hi,

I want to purchase a new phone and make sure that when I transfer everything
over to the new one, everything transfers over. I use downcast to listen to
podcasts, but I have them all marked for streaming. I also have a lot of books
that I have downloaded to voice dream. Will all of these transfer over if I
back up with iTunes and or iCloud? I use both methods to back up.

Thanks,

Beth

I think you have to make sure you have the pro app, not the regular app. I
could be wrong, since I have the pro app I don't know how to check. But all you
do, as Les said, is get the app and sign in and you should be good to go.

had with the folks at tune in, who are much more responsive than they had been

really see a substantial list of genres or browse by genres or release dates
etc. You can of course search for a title or author. And there are some genres,
but unless I'm missing something, there's no way to see really extensive list.
Since their book collection is 60,000 in number, it would seem that they need
to do some more organizing and making things available rather than you having
to know a specific title or author.

Re: Regarding Apple tv, and cable provider

2017-04-14 Thread Fred Olver
Terry, if you have Spectrum, what you can do is to download the apps which
are channels on the spectrum menu. For example, if you want A and Spectrum
offers it as a part of your subscription you can download it to your Apple
TV. Go in to the app store and do a search for TV and you should be able to
find all of the TV related apps which are there.

Subject: Regarding Apple tv, and cable provider

Hello everyone,

If this message already went through, I do apologize. I don't see it in
my sent folder, and I seem to be having some email issues.

Anyway, I was wondering, how do I go about advocating to get my cable
provider a part of Apple tv's choices? Or Apple, in general?

Is this even possible?

If so, who would I even go about contacting? And do you all think it's
worth it?

I see that right now very few options are available, and I don't really
understand why.

I have Spectrum, which used to be Charter. But a while back they took
over 2 other companies. But I am sure many of you are aware of this.

Anyway, I would like to have my cable provider as an option, because I
would like to use certain Apps on my Apple tv, provided they will be
accessible.

For instance, Investigation, Discovery, go.

If anyone has any thoughts, or ideas, please feel free to share them
with me.

Thank you,

Terri

You have to add them to the library and then tell it to sync that folder.

Any folder you choose. You should have the tone, not a link.

RE: A Quick Question for All You iOS Old Time Radio Fans, Regarding the LibriVox App

2017-04-14 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Wayne,

Librivox is both a paid and a free version app that I use to easily access
thousands of old time radio dramas and free audio books. I strongly recommend
the paid version as I find the ad-supported version quite maddening as the ads
pop-up in different places throughout the app.

Subject: A Quick Question for All You iOS Old Time Radio Fans, Regarding the
LibriVox App

Hello All,

Is the iOS LibriVox and/or LibriVox Pro app still VoiceOver accessible?

For those who are not familiar with the tool, LibriVox and LibriVox Pro is a
quick and easy way to access told time radio episodes, as well as a countless
amount of other media, from www.archive.org.

All replies greatly appreciated,

Mark
