Re: screen loccked announcement

2017-07-26 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
Hi Mike. You have to turn off sounds in Voiceover to get the screen locked
announcement back. To do this, go to settings, general, accessibility,
Voiceover, and in there find audio. Turn on mute sound effects and the screen
lock announcement will come back. HTH.

7 months seems like a very short time for it to lose its charging capacity.

Hi all. A little while ago someone mentioned an app that will slow down music
that’s on your phone. Could someone please refresh my memory. I’d like to try
it. I thought I’d saved the email, but can’t find it now. Thanks very much.

Re: Juicebox not Charging

2017-07-26 Thread Sherrie
Just for the record the Juice box on my 6S now only charges the phone maybe
20%. At least I have had it a year and 10 months. Thank goodness my phone
was one of the 6S models that qualified for the free battery replacement
from Apple so the extra charging capacity is not quite so important now.

Hi Mike. You have to turn off sounds in Voiceover to get the screen locked
announcement back. To do this, go to settings, general, accessibility,
Voiceover, and in there find audio. Turn on mute sound effects and the
screen lock announcement will come back. HTH.

Re: Juicebox not Charging

2017-07-26 Thread terrie arnold
X double tap to start well you know the connections in the Juicebox packs do
you wear out after a while they don't stay wonderful all the time and they can
crap out sorry to say but they do I think with my 05 I think I had to
powerpacks for that the connector just got loose inside the case in just
totally crapped out and so so I passed that case onto my son who is now using
it for his six I think it's an SE so it fits that phone but things don't always
last a wonderful time it they have change where the plug-in for the charge on
the phones are they used to be on the sides of the cases and then they've moved
him to the bottom of the cases but they can't crap out so just say so in less
you have a years warranty with your cell phone carrier as sprint did have it
where you bought accessories and us they were guaranteed for a year but, I
understand it this is only with Sprint made products now not other companies
stuff so you may just have to break down and buy yourself a new case or if you
are waiting to buy a new phone you may just have to limp along till the new
phone comes out because Ks is run 100 bucks Cindy really want to spend

I'll do without the Lock Screen message being spoken. LOL Thanks much for

Hi Mike. You have to turn off sounds in Voiceover to get the screen locked
announcement back. To do this, go to settings, general, accessibility,
Voiceover, and in there find audio. Turn on mute sound effects and the
screen lock announcement will come back. HTH.

Hi Nancy. They've taken the screen locked announcement and replaced it

you turn off sounds in Voiceover settings under sounds. HTH.

Question on Tweetings layout and Voiceover

2017-07-26 Thread Cristóbal
Hello list,

So was giving the Tweetings iOS app a spin again. And have a question on how
to get the layout of tweets to read on one line with Voiceover instead of
having the tweet, then reply option, like and so on on each subsequent line.

I recall there was somewhere in settings where one could choose a layout to
hide all this and simply rely on the rotor actions to accomplish the same.

For the life of me though, I can’t recall where it was and have been poking
around without any luck.

I’ve been using Twitterrific for a while now and while I’m perfectly fine
with it, I simply wanted to try Tweetings again.

Thanks,

First, scanned image PDF documents are generally not great text quality.
Also, there is so much clutter on a computer screen, it would be hard to get
just the document in focus.
You might try maximizing the window to see if that helps.
But, maybe printing it then using Seeing AI would be better.
The Short Text works fabulously on my Windows 10 screen at home and my Windows
7 screen at work.
But, I only use it for messages that are popping up.
Not for trying to read a document on the screen.

I've been playing around with my Seeing AI app the past couple of
days. Since I don't have many print documents around the house, I've
been trying the short text function. At least when I have tried
getting it to read the text on my computer screen I've had almost zero
luck. No matter how close or far I put the camera from the screen, I
get mostly gibberish and at best just the top of the window. Certainly
never the main text of, say, a newspaper article. I can't imagine how
people are using this to read fast food restaurant menus as many are
claiming.

Problem with adding ringtones to my iphone

2017-07-26 Thread Denise Colley
I am trying to add some ringtones to my iphone 7 and am having difficulty.
They are not ones I've created.

First it told me that there were two that could not be read on my phone, and
now it iss not letting me add any that I didn't purchase from Itunes.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to clear them all out and start over?

Denise

How iOS 11's Notification Center has changed - CNET

2017-07-26 Thread M. Taylor
CNET How To - Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:18 PM

How iOS 11's Notification Center has changed - CNET

After installing iOS 11 you're bound to notice a lot of small changes and
some bigger changes. There's the ability to record your screen, a
customizable control center, and then there's. Notification Center.
Actually, it's no longer called Notification Center. It's now called Cover
Sheet. It looks similar to the lock screen, but still works much in the same
way Notification Center did.

It looks simple enough, right? You still swipe down from the top of the
screen to view recent notifications, but now an additional swipe up is
required to view older notifications. Notice the "Earlier Today" section.

To go back to the previous screen, you can swipe up from the very bottom of
the screen. If you don't start at the bottom, you'll likely keep scrolling
through older alerts. Getting it right will take some patience and practice.

Interaction has changed, kind of

With Cover Sheet, you can still swipe in either direction across a
notification to do things like clear or open it. Only now, you can swipe all
the way to complete the action without having to press the button once it's
visible.

A long or hard press on an alert will also bring up more interaction
options, as it did prior to iOS 11.

Access Today and Camera
One benefit to the new Cover Sheet is it provides quick access to the Today
section and the Camera app. At any time you can swipe down, then swipe to
the right or left to access the respective feature. Just make sure you're
not touching an alert (I found using the edge of the screen to work quite
well).

Yes, I have to say I am not a fan of the cover sheet either.

One thing Android does do exceptionally well is notifications. "apple could
do with taking a leafe out of Google's book here, as in this regard apple
is way behind.

Cheers,
Brett.
