Facebook Live

2020-07-05 Thread Vivian Conger
Are there any guides on how to use FB Live? My church is doing this with
our services and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do what needs
to be done to view the live feed.

Is there a separate FB Live app?

I am using iPhone 7 with IOS 13.5.1 and Windows 10 on my PC.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Yeah, I actually have done that. I think you are right on target that a call to
Apple Accessibility is in order.

Go into settings, then double tap on your name. Now go to iCloud. Double tap on
that. Now swipe right and make sure that contacts is on. Hope this helps. Also,
do you have contacts in your phone app?

RE: Lyft app search destination screen not displaying list of destinations VoiceOver

2020-07-05 Thread Debby
Hi Shai,

I have the same version of the Lyft App you do on a SE 2020 phone. I am not
having the same problem. I am on iOS 13.5.1. A lot of times I only put in the
address number and maybe just a few letters of the street name, and then
without tapping the search button I look at the choices. They are quite
readable.

I have no real good ideas for you except to reboot the phone or reinstall the
Lyft app.

Good Luck!

Debby

Subject: Lyft app search destination screen not displaying list of destinations
VoiceOver

Hello,
I am using Lyft app version 6.38.3 on an Iphone8+ with VoiceOver. When I double
tap on the where to button and type in a destination name and double tap on the
search button, the destination list does not seem to be accessible with
VoiceOver. When I flick to the right it seems like there are destinations with
the names on screen, but these are not announced and double tapping does not
produce any result. I also tried to type in an address with the same behavior.
Is anybody else experiencing a similar issue? Any workarounds?
Thank you in advance for any responses.

Re: audible books on mp3 players

2020-07-05 Thread Barbara Stahl
Hi!!
I used to have an iphone 5s with only 16 gigs of memory too.
I would just download the books I wanted to listen to and then delete them back
off of the device. They just remain in the cloud until you download them again.
However, it is possible to download the books on to an mp 3 player. However,
you have to have one that can read protected files, maybe an ipod or victor
streme or something along those lines. Otherwise, you are going to have to
convert the files in to a non-protected format. I think you need special
software to do this. Anyway, in order to download the files, you need to
download the audible software and then you just go to your library on the
audible website and download the items. Then you open the audible software and
copy the books from there and copy them to your player.
If you need help, you can always call audible, they are always very helpful and
can walk you through the process.
Oh one more thing, you could also use a kindle fire tablet, it has an audible
app preinstalled on it and its accessible, and very affordable. You could
download store and listen to audible books there with ease.

There’s a program called Inaudible which is a file conversion program. Not
sure how legal it is, but as long as it’s for your own use and not being

RE: The Truth About Apple Watch

2020-07-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
It is very accessible, it may not tell you how many kilometers or miles you
biked on a stationary bike, but it still gives you your heart rate, calories
burned and so on. For things like outdoor walks, runs, swimming and so on it's
fantastic and I look forward to Apple adding more sleep functionality in the
next update. I surely hope they are not going to say you have to buy the latest
sixth generation Apple Watch this fall for this to work, my wife and I also
have last year's fifth gen and I wouldn't at this stage recommend to go lower
than that, in fact, I would probably recommend to wait now until we know what
is coming this fall, it's only a bit more than 2 months when Apple usually
announces their new devices and even if this is pushed off a bit this year just
as WWDC was pushed back by 2 or 3 weeks, it's still worthwhile waiting. It's
also great for notifications or to answer a call if I'm at home around the
house and maybe my iPhone is charging as well as for quick information about
the weather, sunrise and sunset, SIRI questions, dealing with home automation
devices if you have any etc.

Yes I have had pretty good results from using the watchs activity and workout
apps,

I used the workout app to follow my progress during outside walks I did / do

And once I get my bike out of storage I'll be able to use it to track my

Hi, can anyone speak to how well the Apple Watch helped to improve their
health? I'm interested in buying one but only if I can feel confident about the
accessibility of their health apps. I know not to expect perfection. From what
I've been able to gather, it is better about tracking things like walking,
running, and swimming, not so much resistance type activity. I'm okay with
that. I guess I just want to hear from people on either side of the question
who can speak to how well the Apple Watch played a role in their health
regiment, or not.
And, does the series have anything to do with health tracking? Thanks guys for
any information.--Joe

RE: Declining incoming calls.

2020-07-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Just to set the record straight, double tapping the power/side button only
works if the iPhone is locked, if it is unlocked and a call comes in you have
to tap the Decline button.

Furthermore, dou blwe pressing the power/side button sends the call directly to
voice mail, if you do this after the phone rings once the caller gets voice
mail right away, they won't get first another 3 or 4 rings until voice mail
kicks in.

If you want to simply silence the the ringing and let voice mail pick up after
the normal amount of rings press either of the volume buttons or the power
button once. Many people know that if they get voice mail after 1 or 2 rings
that their call was deliberately sent to voice mail so if you want to simply
pretend you aren't near your phone or just aren't able to pick it up, silence
the ringing and then after the caller hears a few more rings they are sent to
voice mail. Below is an article from Apple support which explains all the
options for call management and it also gives a description of where the
various buttons are on the screen (this was the first search result when I
Googled "How to decline a call on iPhone"):

Manage Incoming Calls on iPhone - Apple
Support

Sieghard

Lyft app search destination screen not displaying list of destinations VoiceOver

2020-07-05 Thread Shai
Hello,
I am using Lyft app version 6.38.3 on an Iphone8+ with VoiceOver. When
I double tap on the where to button and type in a destination name and
double tap on the search button, the destination list does not seem to
be accessible with VoiceOver. When I flick to the right it seems like
there are destinations with the names on screen, but these are not
announced and double tapping does not produce any result. I also
tried to type in an address with the same behavior.
Is anybody else experiencing a similar issue? Any workarounds?
Thank you in advance for any responses.

Re: Can’t see all my inboxes on the iPhone

2020-07-05 Thread Richard Turner
This might be easily solved by calling Apple Accessibility and have them do a
screen share so they can see what you have.
It will be difficult to trouble shoot this via email.
Have you tried using the edit button at the top of your mailboxes and see if
somehow you moved it down or removed it and need to ad it back?

Subject: Can’t see all my inboxes on the iPhone

Hi,

I’m not sure what I did, but suddenly I can’t see one of my inboxes in the mail
app. Let me explain.

You know how at the top of the mail app you have ‘all inboxes’ and the number
of messages in all your inboxes for all your accounts? The under that you have
“inbox A” and the number of messages, “inbox B” and the number of messages and
“inbox C” and the number of messages. Well, in my case, inbox B has disappeared
from the list. The account is still on the iPhone and can be accessed when all
the folders are expanded. But I don’t know why that one inbox is no longer
appearing at the top.

Can anyone help? I really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Kim

Yes I have had pretty good results from using the watchs activity and workout
apps,

I used the workout app to follow my progress during outside walks I did / do
on a daily basis.

And once I get my bike out of storage I'll be able to use it to track my
cycling workouts as well.

Subject: The Truth About Apple Watch

Hi, can anyone speak to how well the Apple Watch helped to improve their
health? I'm interested in buying one but only if I can feel confident about the
accessibility of their health apps. I know not to expect perfection. From what
I've been able to gather, it is better about tracking things like walking,
running, and swimming, not so much resistance type activity. I'm okay with
that. I guess I just want to hear from people on either side of the question
who can speak to how well the Apple Watch played a role in their health
regiment, or not.
And, does the series have anything to do with health tracking? Thanks guys for
any information.--Joe

With an iPhone, I find Remind me Later, for the closest thing to declining an

RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions

2020-07-05 Thread Simon A Fogarty
On ear, I'm not sure, I haven't used my on ear headphones from bose for ages,

But they do have a great sound or at least I feel they have a great sounds,

Really it's up to the individual when it comes to speaker or headset sounds.

Everyone has different thoughts on what they and how they like to hear audio.

I would highly suggest going to one of your local audio supply stores and
checking out what they have and what sounds good to you.

Well you actually get up to 24 hours of charging out of them due to the
charging case,

If you can do better with features such as hey siri, Verbal controls for media
etc then we'd probably like to know.

I wouldn't pay $140 for a set of wireless earbuds if I only got about
5 hours of playtime from a single charge. This is just my opinion.

You do a two-finger double tap to answer and end the call. Declining a call is
totally different.
