Hello Linda,

VoiceOver modifier keys are a good thing to set up. Go to
settings>accessibility>VoiceOver>typing. It defaults to control+option. I
also have caps lock selected as well. That way, I can use whatever VoiceOver
modifier is convenient for me, depending on the task at hand.

Transferring photos from an old iPhone 6

2020-11-09 Thread deidre muccio
Hello all,
I think this ought to be a very easy question for some of you to answer.
Somehow it’s not registering how to do this effectively in my own mind.
I have an old iPhone 6 that with a badly shattered screen that I no longer use.
The best of my photos dating as far back as 2015 are on that phone. What would
you say is the easiest way to transfer those photos to an iPhone 6s or to my
newer SE 2020? I’m sure that phone has not been updated to a version of iOS
that’s even 13. So it’s probably 12 point something or other. I hope that
ladder fact doesn’t make it impossible for me to access those photos or rather
transfer them to one of my other phones.
Thanks for any solutions you can provide. I have a feeling this might be an
easy one.
Deirdre

AW: App to track movies you have seen

2020-11-09 Thread Alexandra
Thanks everyone!

To keep track of the books I have read, I use an app called bookbuddy. It's
perfectly accessible with VoiceOver and worth its price.

Betreff: RE: App to track movies you have seen

I keep track of the books I've read in a file as well, but I suppose for books
someone could check out the Good Reads app. I haven't taken a look at it myself
though. I have sent in some feedback to the BARD team so that you could use
BARD Express or the web page to keep track of the books you've read and not
just the books you've downloaded, but although they've been receptive to my
suggestions, I'm not sure they're getting enough feedback to make it worth
their while.

For movies, I've got nothing except for the same idea of using a file or spread
sheet. It's not as important to me to keep track of the movies I've watched
since the big reason I keep track of the books I've read is to keep track of
where I am in a series of books.

RE: Transferring photos from an old iPhone 6

2020-11-09 Thread Richard Turner
If you don't have enough iCloud space to have them uploaded to iCloud and
synced over that way, you can try using Windows Explorer.
Plug the phone in to the computer.
Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the Apple iPhone.
There are several subfolders you have to open to get to the image/photo files.
They in fact may be in several folders themselves.
I find on iOS 14, which may be different than your old phone on 11 or 12, is
the main folder is Apple iPhone,
Select and hit enter on that, and I find Internal Storage, select and hit enter
on that.
Then there is a DCMI folder, do the same.
Now, you should have a folder or folders of your photo files.
Select all with Control A and then copy with control C.
Go to your hard drive and put them somewhere you can find them and paste.
On the new phone, reverse the process.
Open those folders on the new phone with Windows Explorer, and once in the DCMI
folder, you should be able to paste the ones from your computer.

Subject: Transferring photos from an old iPhone 6

Hello all,
I think this ought to be a very easy question for some of you to answer.
I have a feeling this might be an
easy one.
Deirdre

RE: Transferring ringtones from windows7 computer to iPhone

2020-11-09 Thread Richard Turner
Since iTunes 11 or 12, you have to use iTunes to copy Ringtones from the
computer to the iPhone.
So, you may want to talk with either or both Apple Accessibility or Microsoft
Accessibility.
Apple: 877-204-3930
Microsoft: 800-936-5900

Re: How to Return Amazon Items the Right Way: Fast, Easy and Usually Free, cNet

Hi, do you receive any notification that the package has been picked up? I like
the sound of this option, but I think I'd be a little nervous leaving a package
outside for an undetermined amount of time.

Thanks for the great info.

Re: At&t tv mobile app

2020-11-09 Thread regina alvarado
When you turn direct touch from the rotor can you then run the app? I only have
used this in mBraille so not sure how this works in other apps. Sorry. It
should be on to get the app to work. ATt needs to update their app. Perhaps
they have but Apple is lagging in approval. That is what is happening in
mBraille.

I will take a stab at this. When I use mBraille I hear direct touch area. I go
to my rotor and look for direct touch area. I flick up to on and all is well. I
am guessing this is what you are seeing. Hope that helps.

Since iTunes 11 or 12, you have to use iTunes to copy Ringtones from the
computer to the iPhone.
So, you may want to talk with either or both Apple Accessibility or Microsoft
Accessibility.

Kindle Store: Buy & Download to your iOS Device

You can shop from the Kindle Store using the Safari browser and deliver Kindle
titles to the Kindle reading app on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
Your device must be connected to a wireless or data network in order to
download Kindle content to your Kindle reading app.

>From the Safari browser, visit the Kindle Store website:

1. Sign in to the Kindle Store with the same Amazon account you used when you
registered the Kindle reading app. Browse for Kindle titles you want to read,
and then tap to view the product detail page.

2. To send the Kindle title to your device, from the Send wirelessly to
drop-down menu, select your device. If you don't see your device, make sure you
signed in with the Amazon account registered to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod
touch.

3. Tip: Tap Try a Sample to download the beginning of a book for free.

4. After you purchase content, your titles are delivered to the Kindle app on
your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Check your cloud tab.

Hi,

Can someone please remind me how to buy Kindle books? I don’t see a way to do
it from the Kindle app and the Amazon app says I can’t do it from there.
I’ve done it before but it’s been a long time and I don’t remember how I did it.

I’m glad I found it! All I did was copy the name from the UK link that was
placed in the email, then I went to the US Amazon store and paste it in the
name, and there it was!

The one I use is:

It works well with Voiceover and is quite sturdy.

2020-11-09 Thread Michael Irons
Hello, this is Mike. I have Serious Ex M on my iPhone is also on an Amazon echo
device. I have found that you can only stream Serious on one device at a time.
What a strange series on the echo and I found the message for the echo would
come on and say that that device cannot keep streaming the channel because
another device was accessing the account.

Re: Transferring photos from an old iPhone 6

2020-11-09 Thread deidre muccio
Richard,
With Bluetooth turned on, the 105 photos in the eight videos transferred very
quickly through airdrop. That’s what this young smith college student advised
me to do. Apparently it worked. Now if I back up my SE 2020 through iTunes and
I Tele transfer the photos will I be able to access them on my hard drive?
It seems like it would write? Is my logic brain not working today?

RE: Transferring photos from an old iPhone 6

2020-11-09 Thread Richard Turner
Hi,
I'm not sure if iTunes shows your photos on the hard drive or not.
It used to.
I think it might not any longer.
I forgot about Airdrop, leave it to the young people, grin.

Richard,
With Bluetooth turned on, the 105 photos in the eight videos transferred very
quickly through airdrop. That’s what this young smith college student advised
me to do. Apparently it worked. Now if I back up my SE 2020 through iTunes and
I Tele transfer the photos will I be able to access them on my hard drive?
It seems like it would write? Is my logic brain not working today?

Instacart question

2020-11-09 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi, I am using Instacart for the first time today. I found selecting my items
and adding them to my cart and checking out relatively easy. I received an
email from them that says they received my order. However, now I need to be
able to check the status of my order and respond when they send me messages if
they do. Is there somewhere in the app that I can do that? Or do I need to do
that on my computer?
Thanks for your help,
Deja

RE: Instacart question

2020-11-09 Thread James Homuth
You can do that in the app. Tap on your order, and you should see an option to
chat once it starts being shopped. Alternatively, if you have Instacart set up
to text you, the chat messages from your shopper will also be texted to you.
Reply to those texts and they'll get it.

After Upgrading to 14.2, No Contacts

2020-11-09 Thread Arnold Schmidt
After upgrading from 13.7 to 14.2, my favorites are there, but my contacts are
not. I think I remember reading messages about this, but I can't find it in the
archives. I backed up my phone to icloud just before upgrading, so they are in
icloud somewhere. What do I do. Thanks for any information.

Okay, I figured it out. In case it happens to somebody else, you have to go
into the groups section, into icloud, and tap show contacts. This is stupid,
why should it do such a thing! I definitely was in panic mode when I sent that

2020-11-09 Thread Kathy Brandt
It might yet work: do an iCloud back up before you update, then go to iCloud
settings, turn off contacts, perhaps restart your device, turn contacts back
on, and see what happens. That’s what I have to do sometimes when I change a
contact on one device and somehow it doesn’t transfer over to the other.

RE: How do I create a new mailbox within the native mail app I don’t remember

2020-11-09 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi,

So go in to the mail app, find the list of your mail boxes and go to the second
mention of the mail box name,

Expand the mail box you want or have that you want to add the folder to
Click on the edit button at the top of the screen,
Then scrole down to the bottom of the list of mail box / folders,
Or just go to the bottom of the screen and the new mail box button is there.

Hope that helps.
