2020-11-13 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi Simon,
Okay, no problem. I have done that a couple of times. I have an appointment at
an Apple Store fairly close to where I live on Wednesday, When I explained the
issue I was having, the rep with whom I spoke suggested that my problem could
be with the front facing camera and that it might need to be replaced. So, I
will test with a technician and we will go from there. Have a good weekend.
Best,

Les

I meant that you can delete your current face id settings and re do face ID
without having to wipe the phone and start setup from the beginning

Easier than going through the entire setup again.

Hi Carolyn,
Thanks. Well, I thought I had this all figured out, but I'm still getting
inconsistent performance with face I.D. I think my only option is to completely
erase the phone And start over, or swap out my phone. If I erase the phone and
re-set it up and that does not resolve the issue, I'll have to do this a second
time. I've spent considerable time on this issue, and I'm leaning toward
replacing the phone. I can be holding my phone in the exact same position and
it will work, then stop working with the message, try again. If anyone has
other suggestions, I'm open to them. With Covid concerns, I may not be able to
swap via curbside, but we'll see about that one.
Best,

Hi Wayne,
I appreciate your response, as well as the many recommendations from others on
this list. I think I finally figured it out! I was holding the phone the same
way as I do when navigating the screen. My wife encouraged me to hold the phone
vertically. I can best describe it as the phone being absolutely straight in my
hand. Holding it in this manner and away from my face now results in Face I.D
working every time. Now, I've had false positives before, but I really think
I've cracked it! Again, I really appreciate everybody's suggestions. Simon, you
mentioned an attention setting which I will look at. As of now, the difference
is night and day!
Best Regards,

Les

Mine works about 90% of the time. I hold my phone like I'm on a Facetime or

approving app downloads or purchases. I usually will rotate my face around

Re: Following in native Twitter app

2020-11-13 Thread Joy Cyr
When I follow an account I tap on the profile, and find the follow button
between the profile picture and the account's blurb. I'm doing this on the
phone so I just start at the top and swipe right a few times until the follow
button comes up. If there is a way to follow without first going to the
profile I'm not familiar with it (which definitely does Not mean there isn't
one). I am very fussy about the accounts I choose to follow so I usually
prefer to go to their profile first any way. If you are using the Phone app
than you can also follow when you are on a tweet.

Hope that may help.
Joy

Searching in the Instacart App

2020-11-13 Thread Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
Hi All,

I don't know what I am missing, but I can't find where to search in the
Instacart app to add something to my cart. I do not see a Search tab at the
bottom like I believe there used to be.

The one time I did find a search button, it took me to a page listing all of
their sales.

Thanks for any help.

RE: Question About Adding SiriusXM to IOS Devices

2020-11-13 Thread kitty hevener
Hi, I have sirius xm and am able to use it from the I phone, computer and echo
device all at the same time. I actually installed it on my computer first,
then got the ap for Iphone. I had a much more difficult time trying to use it
on the echo dot. As I recall, I had to choose "more" from the settings options
in the alexa ap. Sadly, I don't recall what I did from there. But, I think
there is some type of parental control or something like that which must be
disabled to the the ap working right. I hope this gets u started, anyway.

Hello, this is Mike. I have Serious Ex M on my iPhone is also on an Amazon echo
device. I have found that you can only stream Serious on one device at a time.
What a strange series on the echo and I found the message for the echo would
come on and say that that device cannot keep streaming the channel because
another device was accessing the account.

Following in native Twitter app

2020-11-13 Thread William Outman
Hello.
I was doing some updating of my account this week and added some follows on
Twitter. I selected some topics and got some recommendations. I could see the
account name, labeled profile picture, and follow button, which made it easy to
start those follows.
The issue came when I searched for accounts on my own. I could find the account
and profile picture but no follow button. Found the followers and following
lists and thought it might be hidden under follows, but no go. Tried the
connect button thinking maybe following was just under a different name in a
search, but again no go.
Where do I find the follow button when I search for an account myself?

Hi Candy,

Cloudbeats is an excellent app but I don't believe it allows you to speed up or
slow down the audio playback as the original poster requested. If it does allow
this speed adjustment, I can't figure out where it is.

The same developer has an app called Cloudbeats Audiobooks which sells for
$6.99 and supports multiple cloud services and allows speed adjustment from .5
to 3 times normal.

I have plenty of music files in Dropbox. I use the app called CloudBeats. It
costs a few dollars, maybe five dollars, but, I like it very much. I don’t know
if it is music you are wanting to play, but, if it is, it works well for that.
You can create play lists, and you can download music to play off line. There
are many other features that I haven’t bothered to learn. Let me know if I
can be of any more help.

Export the audio file to Voice Dream Reader. If it's a book with multiple MP3
files for one book, then you might want to zip the folder that has those MP3
files in it before sending it to Voice Dream Reader so that it comes out as one
book instead of multiple books, but you don't have to.

Steve, how can you like koss headphones? I had a couple pairs of koss
headphones and they were complete junk. I had them in a protective case and
was very careful how I used them. What happened to both pairs, was the
headband which went over my head cracked without warning. I never dropped
these headphones and was very careful with them. I treat all my headphones
with care and I have cases for as many pairs as I can.

my Fire TV. How do I do this, and if I use the headphone, does that
shut the speakers off? In other words, can I have them both simultaneously?
Once again, if this is off-topic, Kevin, write me off-list.

Hi.

I purchased this speaker originally for my PC, but it still exhibits
the same annoying behavior on other devices. What it does is
gradually increase its volume to what you have the knob set at,
rather than being at that volume. This happens every time there is no
sound playing through, then starts playing a sound. If, like me,
you’re a Voiceover user, this presents a problem. I current have this
speaker paired to my Fire TV in the living room, so usually there’s
sound of some sort coming through it.

Just to let folks know. As the saying goes, “You get what you pay
for,” and in this case it’s true.

Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard.

2020-11-13 Thread Les Kriegler
Simon, I am aware of that. If I were to turn off Face I.D, then I would opt for
the SE. In other words, I wish to use Face I.D.

Hi Carolyn,
Best,

Les

Good going, Les. I think I was doing more like you said until someone on one of
the lists said they held their phone about 12-14 inches out from their face.

Hi Wayne,
I appreciate your response, as well as the many recommendations from others on

I hold my phone like I'm on a Facetime or
other video call. I do have issues with turning my head the right way when
approving app downloads or purchases. I usually will rotate my face around
until I hear the ding to approve the purchase/download. Perhaps an SE phone
would work better for you. It sounds like you're still in the first 30 day
period.
