You are right Jenny. Can you put one finger on the status bar and get focused
there. Then, you flake up with three fingers and you get the control center.
This is on the older iPhones.

If your country code is 001 then add it as +1
Or +61 for Australia
Or +64 for new Zealand,
Then the phone number you need to add.

Yes, but Simon spelled the website address incorrectly it is AppleID.apple.com
Also, what Donna said about ;loosing access to apps purchased with the old
Apple Id is not correct, if you go through the process of changing your Apple
Id through this website to a new email adderess you will still have access to
all your old apps.

Yes you can change your apple id,

You don't do it on your phone or within your phones settings,

It's a case of going to the web page:
Applied.apple.com,

You can in there change your id to what you want,

Hello everyone,

I was wondering, is it possible to change my Apple ID?

I looked in the settings and saw where all my acount settings were. Such as, my
ID, email addresses, payment information, and other things. I tried to see if I
could edit the ID. But if I could, then I just couldn't figure it out.

What do you all think? Is this possible?

And if so, what might I need to be aware of, if I do this?

Thank you,

RE: locking screen orientation in to portrait mode

2020-12-28 Thread Richard Turner
Touching the status bar and flicking up with three fingers works on all iphones.

Richard, in the U.S.

"You know," said Arthur, "it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon
airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep
space, that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was
young."
"Why, what did she tell you?"
"I don't know, I didn't listen."

You are right Jenny. Can you put one finger on the status bar and get focused
there. Then, you flake up with three fingers and you get the control center.
This is on the older iPhones.

Strangely enough you only go into settings/wallet/apple pay to add money to
Apple pay. when you wish to send someone money you do it via text message.

uncheck the box that hides other apps.

then swipe over to Apple pay and double tap

all the way near the end you wil find the picker item to set the amount

  choose request or pay

now go back to the front and send

to say send money to a number. Does some one know how to do this with vo? Many
thanks. From Mich.

2020-12-28 Thread Richard Turner
Just make sure you start with the country code. The phone number field will
take care of the format. You needn't worry about dashes, just enter the entire
number with the country code.

Try placing focus on the status bar and flicking up with three fingers. I think
that is the control center. It may be a three finger flick down. It is one of

locking screen orientation in to portrait mode

Hi all,
I can't seem to locate the lock orientation button in the control centre.
running ios 14.3 on iphone 7.
the control centre seems tricky to open with vo running. The swipe up,
from home screens, merely brings up edit, and not the control centre.
accessing the control centre from the settings applette, I can not see
the button.

Some guideance if you would be so kindplease.

Re: Sieghard- Changing my Apple ID

2020-12-28 Thread 'Maria Reyes' via VIPhone
Hi,Go into settings and double tap on your name. then flick to name emails and
phonenumbers and addresses and double tap. now flick past your email and phone
number and hit edit. now flick to add email or phone number and double tap.
when the popup comes up hit email. now it will ask you to enter your email
address. once you enter it, you will have to enter a passcode which will be
sent to that email. after you enter it you want to focus on your old email
address and flick down to delete and double tap. it will tell you that you have
to enter a new email address. hit ok and you will be at the enter email screen.
you may have to enter another pascode before your Apple ID is changed.

2020-12-28 Thread Laury, Shawnese (LEO)
Hello I use the AT TV mobile app on my iPhone and iPad. I record shows and
watch them later. Now with the direct touch area I am having problems fast
forwarding and rewinding recordings. It is difficult to navigate even after I
turn off direct touch. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: French Braille on IOS?

2020-12-28 Thread Brandon A. Olivares
Salut,

Merci beaucoup. I appreciate your offer.

However I actually just found an app that I think will really help me. It’s
called Braille Translator (on the Mac, not iPhone). You can type something in
French (or several other languages) and it’ll translate it into braille. It
supports French unified grade 2.

So I’m typing in words and phrases that I know and seeing how it translates
into braille. I’m shocked how many contractions there are.

Re: Sieghard- Changing my Apple ID

2020-12-28 Thread Donna Casteen
Sieghard,

I didn’t say that apps purchased with the old Apple ID would be inaccessible.
All apps purchased with the old Apple ID will definitely continue to work as
they currently do. What I said was, the login info to the old Apple ID will be
necessary to update apps purchased with the old Apple ID. If there is another
way to update apps purchased with Apple ID Aa, while now using the new Apple ID
Bb, please do share the steps to do this? This would make my life sooo much
easier, not having to remember 2 Apple ID’s & their passwords. I have 3 apps
that were purchased 5 years ago, using a family Apple ID account. These apps
are updated regularly. The only way I know there is an update to the apps, is
by periodically logging into the old family Apple ID or checking the app
developers Facebook page.

Re: French Braille on IOS?

2020-12-28 Thread l . d . ethier23
Hello Brandon,
Maybe I can help you because I'm a french braille user. Sadly, I never heard
about specific apps to lurn french braille as english.
In french we have contraction for small word (le, la, de,...), for word
(jamais, parfois...) and finally sillabic conjonction (fr, ch, an,...).
What would you appreciate that I send you?

Re: French Braille on IOS?

2020-12-28 Thread Traci Duncan
Hi, I've been doing some Googling. One resource you may want to search is
AppleVis. I found one thread talking about learning French braille.

Here's another link that talks about iOs braille learning apps. Not sure if it
deals with other languages.
https://www.teachingvisuallyimpaired.com/braille-apps.html

Here is another resource of several braille codes, however I'm not seeing
French contractions.
https://www.pharmabraille.com/braille-codes/france-braille-code/

NFB has a lot of resources on this following link. Note, some of it may be
outdated.
https://www.nfb.org/images/nfb/publications/fr/fr28/fr2/fr280207.htm

:) This was a fun little research project. For my own personal interest, I may
cary on looking. I'm learning German and Italian, it hadn't occurred to me that
there may be braille contractions in those languages.

My last suggestion, is to look on Bard's braille downloads. Maybe there is
something there.

Good luck,
Traci

French Braille on IOS?

2020-12-28 Thread Brandon A. Olivares
Hi,

So I’m learning French, and so as such I’m trying to learn French braille as
well.

I found a reference for the accented characters, but I notice that there are
also contractions. Like when I type L by itself, it translates it to “le” (the
French word for “the”). I noticed quite a few others as well.

However I can’t seem to find a reference for this. Can anyone point me to an
extensive reference on French braille contractions that work on IOS?

Thanks,
Brandon

Yes, but Simon spelled the website address incorrectly it is AppleID.apple.com
Also, what Donna said about ;loosing access to apps purchased with the old
Apple Id is not correct, if you go through the process of changing your Apple

2020-12-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
And I am not sure if this works in all countries. As far as I know person to
person transfer of money via Apple Pay Is not available here in Canada so I
doubt you can send money via Apple Pay to a personal/private person.
Fortunately we do have email money transfer which is offered by any major bank
and with many personal bank accounts except for maybe the most basic ones a
certain number of email money transfers are free.

Hiding apps in messages [was "RE: how to use apple pay to send so one money? using vo?"]

2020-12-28 Thread chalt...@outlook.com
If you’re in the edit field of the text messages app then a single flick left
will take you to the apps button. It’s a toggle, so you’ll hear apps visible or
apps hidden. Just double tap to toggle the visibility of the apps.

I have a pair of the Beats X headphones, I wondered if these Flex headphones
were an update for the X. I have always thought they were overpriced for what
I got, and the battery life has always been miserable. Even when new, they
would barely last five hours, now they won't even make four. I think the sound
of the x headphones is fair, but I miss the treble of the airpods. But for the
price and if the battery life is somewhat near the 12 hours they claim, I might
go for them, maybe, I am not sure. Thanks for your answer.

These are the replacement for the original Beats X which came out at the same

They do have some passive noise cancellation as they have differing sizes of
rubber ear tips. Also they are the first of the Apple head sets to charge with
USB C. I think they have the original W1 chip in them, so they do have a
little lag compared to Air Pods.

I use mine when I'm in situations where if I dropped a pod, I'd be in trouble
.. So they are my cleaning pods .. walking in the rain pods and such ..

Sound is decent .. but not anywhere near the Air Pods, but not bad for $49 ..

RE: Changing my Apple ID

2020-12-28 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Terri,

Yes you can change your apple id,

You don't do it on your phone or within your phones settings,

It's a case of going to the web page:
Applied.apple.com,

You can in there change your id to what you want,

Subject: Changing my Apple ID

Hello everyone,

I was wondering, is it possible to change my Apple ID?

I looked in the settings and saw where all my acount settings were. Such as, my
ID, email addresses, payment information, and other things. I tried to see if I
could edit the ID. But if I could, then I just couldn't figure it out.

What do you all think? Is this possible?

And if so, what might I need to be aware of, if I do this?

Thank you,

Terri

RE: Mostly For Shane - Issue, privacy questions and suggestion for SuperSense

2020-12-28 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi shane,

Thanks for looking into this situation,

Privacy of ones personal data is a big problem in the world now so it is grea
that you and your company have taken this on as an issue.

We do appreciate it and it will make me think again about the purchase of this
product.

Mind you the price is high here in nz,

As for your staff being on holiday this week,
Why the heck are they not slaving away, is there something on this week in your
country?

We kiwis are working hard every day currently,
At least I was today on my tanning!

Hi all,
Thank you so much for your feedback.
We had this policy in place when we first launched Supersense to continue
insuring the fidelity of the AI systems in the app, but in light of your
feedback we will be moving forward to reconsider the way we handle data.
Our team is off this week for the holidays, but I'll be in touch afterword.

 Hi Shane,

Fair enough. :) thanks very much for your response and for checking
into that. I really appreciate it.

When LookTel was considering using google Analytics to help enhance
customer experience, we ended up deciding against it because even
though the provided data was supposed to be anonymized, it still
gave us the customer's city, so we opted not to use analytics of any kind.

Since the blind and visually impaired population is so small,
relatively, even having the city of a customer is often-times
 enough to identify that person.

So this is part of the reason for my questions.

Thanks so much Shane, and will look forward to what you find out.

 cheers and happy holidays!

 Cara
