Re: Blood Pressure Testing Device Opinions

thanks very much Simon glad you finally got it.  Janet

Hi Janet,

Yes I finally got it 10 days ago,

The app is fantastically accessible,

The actual device is very easy to use pretty much all the time,

Although if you move it stops measuring, or switchs off,

It’s probably 5 inchs in length and may be 2 inchs square at the end,

One end opens to have the triple a batteries in it,

Which there is a little bit of paper to stop the power connection when
it’s new,

To turn it on, you unroll it and put it on your arm,

Then  once the cuff is farsened closed it gives you a measure button
in the app which then starts the measuring of the blood pressure,

So the motor and sensors are in the  little box and it takes a matter
of a minute if that to do the measurement

And then the app displays the measurement which I have to flick to find.

Really really easy and I believe well worth the $250 nz dollars I paid
for it.

Only issue I had was the shipping time,

Seemingly shipping to Australia and NZ is having delays due to the virus

Hope that helps.

I believe it speaks the test results to you when you take the test.

OK so I’m not the only one that’s going crazy here or am I going crazy I have
no idea! Is this a bug that no one else is getting but only a select few and of
course I happen to be one of those select few! kind of annoying. Also one more
thing I’ve noticed is that I won’t even summon Siri and this is while wearing
the Bose frames tempo and sometimes it inadvertently comes on and then goes off
and then comes on and then goes off and then I get so annoyed that I end up
turning off my Bose frames entirely disconnect Bluetooth or rather turn off the
setting for Bluetooth and then turn it on again in order to have it not do what
it did so I don’t know if this is part of the bug or if it is a bug. And of
course I turn on the Bose frames tempo and it resolves itself for a while and
then it does the same thing again and then of course it does the same thing I
told you about earlier in the thread about not being able to open apps
hands-free like I used to because of that stupid HomePod thing that I don’t

2021-11-08 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hey great buy,

I have the pros and they are great,

I’ve had mine since about 2 years ago.

I believe the new audio features came with firmware updates,

Oh and the newer airpods pro as of October
Come with a wireless and magsafe abled charging case.

My case only does wireless charging.

Well guys I just want to tell you that I took the plunge and I found the
AirPods Pro at $189 believe it or not and they say there’s a new ones that have
the tracking feature as well so I don’t know but I do know I just purchased
them and I purchased a MagSafe charger which also can charge the iPhone 8 as
well wirelessly so that’s cool I’ve got that option for my phone to if I don’t
want to plug my phone in but it should be coming on Saturday, 13 November all
these devices the AirPods Pro and the MagSafe charger. So once I set up my
AirPods Pro I will let you guys know whether or not I have these same Siri
issues that I keep having with those as well as I am having with the Bose
frames tempo. It will rule something out I hope. Sorry for all the troubles

Well you’re not the only one that has issues with Siri at times. I’ve noticed
with the Bose frames tempos that it works only when I want to make phone calls
or send text messages but when it comes to opening apps it will tell me to
check to see if my device meaning the iPhone is on the same network as the Home
pod which I don’t on a HomePod I own the Bose frames and they only connect via
the Bose music app and Bluetooth settings via the iPhone and I have an iPhone 8
plus running iOS 15.1 because this has been happening for a few weeks now ever
since I upgraded to iOS 15.1 I went directly from iOS 14.8 which by the way it
worked then up until I upgraded to 15.1 which is weird because if I were to get
for example some AirPod pros or AirPods third-generation I don’t know which one
I want yet but if I were to get either of those I know that those would work
very well especially when it comes to opening apps I never had this issue
before with regards to the Bose frames tempo glasses with Siri like I said
until iOS 15.1. Very interesting indeed. Also the first time after
disconnecting the Bluetooth audio Sunglasses, when I have summoned Siri to
open an app it will tell me that it has connectivity issues and then when I do
it again after waiting for 10 seconds then it will comply and open whatever app
I want it to. Again very strange indeed.

Hi, Everyone,

The subject says it all! For the past couple of days, my Siri isn't working.
It did start to work this morning, and I thought I was okay. However, it's not
working again and I'm in a quandary as to what I should do to fix this. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am in the market to buy a new
phone, anyway, but in the meantime, I would like to use Siri until I do get a
new phone.

Thanks so much.

Esther

Hello Esther:

I love my AirPods so far. I’ve had them for a little over a week and I’m
finding them to be very useful and very comfortable. The one thing I will say
is that it’s hard to use them when you’re asleep lol! The earbuds fall out of
your ears. Maybe I need to create some kind of an ear sock or something. Other
than that I love them!

When Apple first announced the AirPods years ago, they were an exciting new
product, and aside from Beats, Apple's first foray into wireless headphones.
Fast forward to today, and the AirPods lineup has grown to include the ANC
capable earbuds, AirPods Pro, and
the luxurious over-the-ear headphones
AirPods Max. It's clear to see that
AirPods 3 is an impressive culmination of what Apple has learned in the
headphone market in just a few short years, and it's the best set of basic
AirPods they have ever made.

After using the AirPods 3 all week, I have completely fallen in love with them.
They have been a delight to use, from how easy they pair with all my Apple
devices to just how much improved the sound quality is over the
AirPods 2. However, the same issues
the AirPods have always had are still present on the AirPods 3, and that's
mainly by design. Add in the precarious price point, and you have a product
that is simultaneously very compelling to some people and an absolute
non-starter to others.

AirPods 3: Price and availability

The AirPods 3 comes in a wireless charging case compatible with MagSafe and has
a new design that looks a lot more like the AirPods Pro than the old AirPods 2,
except for the silicone ear tips. While they don't have ANC, they do have
decent 6-hour battery life in the buds, work with Spatial Audio and Dolby
Atmos, and the new skin-detect sensor.

The AirPods (3rd generation) are available now from wherever you usually buy
your Apple devices. They cost $179 and, unfortunately for some, only come in
white.

AirPods 3: All the good things

In my best efforts to not bury the lede, I'll start with this — the AirPods 3
sound quite a bit better than the AirPods 2, and honestly, pretty close to the
quality of AirPods Pro. Of course, you don't have silicone ear tips to get the
excellent sound isolation that the AirPods Pro can give you, but if you put ear
tips on the AirPods 3, the sound would likely be very similar without the ANC.

The bass performance on the AirPods 3 is probably where you'll notice the most
difference right out of the gate. It's much more present than in the previous
models and makes listening to heavy rock, EDM, and other bass-heavy genres much
more enjoyable. The mids and the highs always come through clear and crisp, so
I have not noticed any clipping, and since Apple threw in its Adaptive EQ
technology into the AirPods 3, the sound should always be pretty consistent.

Spatial Audio is cool, but not always the best.

That brings me to the other significant audio enhancement, the AirPods (3rd
generation), Spatial Audio. This is a feature you need to experience for
yourself to really hear the difference it can make. In most instances, to my
ears, it sounds incredible. It's like having surround sound in your ears, and
it makes music — and especially movies — sound much more dynamic and full. Of
course, it can

Hey Folks,

Sorry coming in to this late,

I know that some countries get pretty cold in winter,

But if it’s that cold you have to wear gloves

Isn’t it then getting to cold for your phone to be out in the wintery air?

I just cut the tips off my polypro gloves but then the coldest we get is may be
0 C in which case kiwis stay in doors rather than going out and getting cold.

Well sensible ones do anyway.

Or just cut the tips of your gloves fingers out so you can touch the screen
with the tip or pad of the finger and answer the phone.

You would only have to do it with one digit

What do I do, if a call comes, and I have gloves on.

I get it, the simple answer – remove gloves. But, I was in the grocery store,
had to dig phone out, then get off gloves? Well, I am just wondering if it can
be done, answer the phone with gloves on?

Hello Esther:
I love my AirPods so far. I’ve had them for a little over a week and I’m
finding them to be very useful and very comfortable. The one thing I will say
is that it’s hard to use them when you’re asleep lol! The earbuds fall out of
your ears. Maybe I need to create some kind of an ear sock or something. Other
than that I love them!

market in just a few short years, and it's the best set of basic AirPods
 they have ever made.

After using the AirPods 3 all week, I have completely fallen in love with
them. They have been a delight to use, from how easy they pair with all my
Apple devices to just how much improved the sound quality is over the
AirPods 2. However, the same issues the AirPods have always had are still
present on the AirPods 3, and that's mainly by design. Add in the
precarious price point, and you have a product that is simultaneously very
compelling to some people and an absolute non-starter to others.

 AirPods 3: Price and availability

 Source: Luke Filipowicz / iMore
The AirPods 3 comes in a wireless charging case compatible with MagSafe
and has a new design that looks a lot more like the AirPods Pro than the
old AirPods 2, except for the silicone ear tips. While they don't have
ANC, they do have decent 6-hour battery life in the buds, work with
Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, and the new skin-detect sensor.

The AirPods (3rd generation) are available now from wherever you usually
buy your Apple devices. They cost $179 and, unfortunately for some, only
 come in white.

AirPods 3: All the good things

 Source: Luke Filipowicz / iMore
In my best efforts to not bury the lede, I'll start with this — the
AirPods 3 sound quite a bit better than the AirPods 2, and honestly,
pretty close to the quality of AirPods Pro. Of course, you don't have
silicone ear tips to get the excellent sound isolation that the AirPods
Pro can give you, but if you put ear tips on the AirPods 3, the sound
would likely be very similar without the ANC.

The bass performance on the AirPods 3 is probably where you'll notice the
most difference right out of the gate. It's much more present than in the
previous models and makes listening to heavy rock, EDM, and other
bass-heavy genres much more enjoyable. The mids and the highs always come
through clear and crisp, so I have not noticed any clipping, and since
Apple threw in its Adaptive EQ technology into the AirPods 3, the sound
 should always be pretty consistent.

Spatial Audio is cool, but not always the best.

That brings me to the other significant audio enhancement, the AirPods
(3rd generation), Spatial Audio. This is a feature you need to experience
for yourself to really hear the difference it can make. In most instances,
to my ears, it sounds incredible. It's like having surround sound in your
ears, and it makes music — and especially movies — sound much more dynamic
and full. Of course, it can depend on what you're listening to, a few
tracks I have heard with Spatial Audio have sounded a bit odd, seems to
happen more with rock than other genres in my experience, but overall I'm
happy to have a pair of headphones that can finally take advantage of it.

 Source: Luke Filipowicz / iMore
What's maybe even a more pleasant surprise is just how comfortable the
AirPods 3 are in your ears. The design of the AirPods 3 are much more akin
to the AirPods Pro, as they sport smaller stems and a more tapered earbud
end that sits a little further in your ear than the AirPods 2 did. They
are nice and light but fit pretty fit snuggly in your ears. I couldn't
find a way to dislodge them from my ears without purposely trying to; even
while going for a jog around the neighborhood, they stayed perfectly in
place. Of course, they aren't as secure in your ear as silicone tips would
be, but if the AirPods 3 fit in your ear nicely, I think you

My Siri Isn't Working

2021-11-08 Thread Esther Levegnale
Hi, Everyone,

The subject says it all! For the past couple of days, my Siri isn't working.
It did start to work this morning, and I thought I was okay. However, it's not
working again and I'm in a quandary as to what I should do to fix this. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am in the market to buy a new
phone, anyway, but in the meantime, I would like to use Siri until I do get a
new phone.

Thanks so much.

RE: How can I answer the phone with gloves on?

2021-11-08 Thread Simon A Fogarty

RE: Blood Pressure Testing Device Opinions

2021-11-08 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Janet,

Yes I finally got it 10 days ago,

The app is fantastically accessible,
The actual device is very easy to use pretty much all the time,
Although if you move it stops measuring, or switchs off,

It’s probably 5 inchs in length and may be 2 inchs square at the end,

One end opens to have the triple a batteries in it,
Which there is a little bit of paper to stop the power connection when it’s new,

To turn it on, you unroll it and put it on your arm,
Then once the cuff is farsened closed it gives you a measure button in the app
which then starts the measuring of the blood pressure,

So the motor and sensors are in the little box and it takes a matter of a
minute if that to do the measurement

And then the app displays the measurement which I have to flick to find.

Really really easy and I believe well worth the $250 nz dollars I paid for it.

Only issue I had was the shipping time,

Seemingly shipping to Australia and NZ is having delays due to the virus

Hope that helps.

Richard, you are incorrect, Siri will answer phone calls, see my first message
it has all the details.
Also, you don't have to look for tactical or military gloves, many outdoor
brands like North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Outdoor Research, Black Diamond etc.
make thin fleece gloves as well as thicker ski gloves which are touch screen
compatible.

No.

However, if one turned on Voice Control, which has nothing whatever to do with
Siri, there may be a way, but then you are dealing with learning how to control
Voice Control.
Gloves would be much easier.

Right, Sieghard. I tried it, had to do Hay Siri, but it worked! Glad I can
stick with the gloves I have.

2021-11-08 Thread Richard Turner
This is me, eating my words. (Quite tasty.)

I had missed that little feature announcement I guess in the flurry of iOS
updates this year from 14 to 15.1.

Very good to know. Yes, this would alleviate the need for special gloves so
long as using Hey Siri is an option at that moment.

Yes, other gloves work. I have some gloves that work and I didn't think they
would.

But, I'd rather use Hey siri than try to dig my phone out while wearing gloves
anyway.

Thanks again Sieghard for the enlightenment.

Take care,

And as I said, even without a headset of any sort connected or if you don't
have Airpods you can say "Hey Siri Answer" which worked for me without a
headset and with wired Apple Earpods connected.

Thanks Sieghard,
I will try again with my Airpods Max, but it didn't work when I tried it early
after getting them. That could have been just before 14.5.
I will let folks know if that indeed works.

It sounds like it will.

RE: How can I answer the phone with gloves on?

2021-11-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
And as I said, even without a headset of any sort connected or if you don't
have Airpods you can say "Hey Siri Answer" which worked for me without a
headset and with wired Apple Earpods connected.

Thanks Sieghard,
I will try again with my Airpods Max, but it didn't work when I tried it early
after getting them. That could have been just before 14.5.
I will let folks know if that indeed works.

It sounds like it will.

RE: How can I answer the phone with gloves on?

2021-11-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
There are a couple of options:

1. You can get gloves which are touch screen compatible which means they have
fibers embedded in the material which are conductive and work with touch screens
2. You could wear a headset and unless you are wearing super thick gloves this
should allow you to use the remote control on the headset to answer a call
3. Since iOS version 14.5 and if you have a set of Airpods you can simply say
"Answer" when the phone rings and it will answer the call. This also works with
the Plantronics Voyager Edge and maybe some other Plantronics headsets and here
this has always worked because it's a feature of the headset not of SIRI.
I did, however, just test this both without a headset as well as with wired
Earpods connected and while saying "Answer" doesn't do anything, when my wife
called me I said "Hey Siri Answer" while the phone was ringing and this did
pick up the call.

iOS 14.5 lets users answer calls with Siri when using headphone s -
9to5Mac

I get it, the simple answer - remove gloves. But, I was in the grocery store,
had to dig phone out, then get off gloves? Well, I am just wondering if it can
be done, answer the phone with gloves on?

tv subscriptions

2021-11-08 Thread Patti Johnson
So many of them don't work with voice over or voice view in Amazon's
case.  I just looked at Youtube tv and found it has one channel I have
wanted to get , called Decades.  It is supposed to be over the air here
but I cna't access it.  I know it's  silly but I would love to have that
channel so I am tempted.  I'd get rid of my c able and I'd lose Antenna
tv and Me T TV but that is over the air so I could see that if I
wanted.  The only problem is I'd luse my Encore package and my FETV
channel.  So it would be a tough choice in some ways.  But if it works
on my Fire Stick, I may get it anyway.

Has anyone used Sling TV successfully, just curious.

Thank you for that.
I sent an email and it has not bounced back, so that would appear to be a good
address for them.

I wonder why they don't have that on their web site. At least, it wasn't
anywhere I could find it.

Now, we shall see if a human reads those emails.

Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts (just swipe right until you find it), then tap
on the account you want to change and on the next screen tap on the email

Hi

I had a problem with my laptop and I had to change the gML password, now I
noticed that the iphone email isn’t running any more, I can’t get or send any
emails, I use the gml for both devices.

Can somebody explain to me how to setup the email again because when I bought
it somebody else has done for me?

Thanks in advance
