Re: Spatial Audio with AirPods, Not So Much
Spatial audio is not intended for mono playback at all. There is nothing spatial about a person reading a book. When you listen to something where the direction of the sound makes a difference, you may find it adds a lot of depth to the experience; but then again you might not. But certainly evaluating spatial audio based on an audio book is somewhat pointless. Richard “What we think or what we know or what we believe is in the end of little consequence. Hi, There is a feature called Family setup that, according to Apple, "lets family members who don't have their own iPhone enjoy the features and benefits of an Apple Watch." To learn more, go to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211768 I hope Family setup does what you need. odd behavior concerning lock orientation
Hi all. I have recently noticed that when I disconnect a phone call, my orientation goes to landscape mode. I've checked in my control center and lock orientation is on. I have to lock the phone and then unlock it and all seems to work as expected again. Is anyone else seeing this? I shut down my phone and haven't had a phone call since, so I don't know if that made any difference. Very odd! Wondering if I've set something differently without realizing it. God bless! Re: Two Apple watches
Hi Donna, as far as I know, the Apple Watch does not have its own Apple ID. It Hass to be paired with a iOS device to my knowledge, and a user is the Apple ID of the iOS device. Somebody else will have to help you answer those other questions. As I don't have one of these watches. I just know from running a few list concerning the Apple Watch. > On Dec 12, 2021, at 5:26 PM, Donna Casteen wrote: > > Hi All, > > I'm going to try to explain what I want to be able to do without causing too > much confusion, in doing so, hopefully I'll get an answer. > > I have two watches. Two Apple watches
Hi All, I'm going to try to explain what I want to be able to do without causing too much confusion, in doing so, hopefully I'll get an answer. I have two watches. Both watches are cellular, One is mine the second a child's watch. Currently the child's watch is being used as a stand alone watch. The functionality for ease of use is limited. If I were to pair the child's watch as a second watch for myself... 1. Can the child's watch have its own apple ID? 2. Can the parental controls be setup for the watch? 3. Can both watches be used at the same time? Another words both watches powered on, the child wearing their watch & using it while at school & mine powered on, being used during the day doing life? We need ease of use on the child watch. My son is visually impaired & has a speech problem, so using Siri is difficult, especially even more so the difficulty in fixing dictated message mistakes. The real problem falls on me. The scribble to write & I are at odds with each other. The watch is threatening to file for violence protection! LOL! My son & I need access to a keyboard on the watch, but both of us are having trouble with scribble writing & entering his password in the app store. A keyboard will also help him with use of the watch features which a keyboard is used. Help! Sorry for the long message. Spatial Audio with AirPods, Not So Much
Hello All, So, in order to pair my new Apple watch series 7 to my beloved 8 Plus, I had to update from iOS 14.8 to iOS 15.1. I did this on Friday. Today, while listening to an audiobook on Over Drive via my wired EarPods, I decided to take my AirPods Pro for a spin, for the first time, with the latest OS. Well, as soon as I resumed the Over Drive audio playback via AirPods Pro, I noticed a tremendously different type of sound coming through AirPods. It only took me a moment to realize that this must be the new Spatial audio feature that I have been reading about. I listened for about 10 minutes or so, then enabled the head-tracking feature to see how it sounded; not bad, accept... I disabled the spatial audio feature after about 15 minutes of listening. I don't know, there was something about it that I just didn't like, with regard to audiobook playback, anyway. I might like it when I watch a movie on my Apple TV or my iPad; perhaps the visual input in combination with spatial audio will make the experience seem less jarring, somehow, I don't know. For now, however, I think I will continue to use the stereo, only, playback option when listening to audiobooks. Just thought I would share my first listening experience with spatial audio.
