When my I Phone goes out of my home's wifi range

2022-10-26 Thread bentleyj1952
Hi all,

When I walk out side of my home's Wi-Fi range, my I Phone seamlessly auto
switches to cell data. That is if I am listening to something like YouTube
or a radio station.

But, if I am listening to a certain private nonsecure web site, I get an
option to join a different Wi-Fi signal. All of these are my neighbors
Wi-Fi signals so I don't want to even try to join. At the end of this list
of Wi-Fi options is a cancel button. If I tap that, the phone appears to
switch to cellular data and I can then continue listening to this unsecure
site when out of range of my own wi-fi signal. In case it matters, the site
is:

http://w5cqu.homeip.net:8100/

Is there a setting some where on my I Phone to cause this to seamlessly auto
switch like other web content does?

Hoping I explained this clear enough.

Thanks for any thoughts,

James B

RE: saved or favorite places nolonger accessible within google maps app

2022-10-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Do a 4-finger single tap on the bottom half of the screen which is the gesture
which takes you to the last element on the screen, this will be the "Update
tab". Now you can flick left and get to the other tabs, Contribute, Saved, Go,
Explore.
The other option is to do a 3-finger swipe up on the screen until you get to
the last page, it will then say at the very bottom "You are all caught up" and
if you swipe right you land on the Explore tab, then you can swipe right to Go,
Save, Contribute and Updates.

BTW, there was also a couple of Google Maps updates in the last week or so, and
the Google Maps update may have made those posts larger thus making it harder
to get to the tabs below them. It doesn’t have to be Apple’s fault.

Hi Richard

I can it have reproduced by other Belgian inhabitants using voiceover, the
things you describe are wrong at least here for us.

There is nolonger such a tab on the bottom of the screen, the only thing there
is are posts from other users about places you have visited or nearby places.
But there nolonger is such a tab. The lower part of the screen is filled up
with such stupid posts we don’t want to see or interact wit hand tabs at the
bottom of the screen are nolonger visible.

For a few versions now, you can access your saved places on the saved tab at
the bottom of the screen.
Once you select that tab, all your favorites are right there. Then if you flick
up or down on any favorite you will find more options.
I double checked just now running 16.1 using VoiceOver.

Thanks for reading regarding this matter.

I think I understand what you're trying to ask: You most likely have Amazon Prime, right? So yes if you cancel Amazon Prime, you'll still be able to listen to the show you're referring to; you won't be able to have things shipped in one or 2 days like now with Pffime. Hope this helps some.GeraEnviado desde mi iPhone SE (2nd Generation) de TelcelEl 26 oct 2022, a la(s) 8:03 a.m., Jenny Bomareto escribió:If this is slightly off topic, I’m sorry. Re: Quickly switching between Degrees F And C?

2022-10-26 Thread Bill Gallik
> Gerardo et al,

I have a buddy in Canada with whom I often share weather information. As a
result, I’ve learned to,, for all intents and purposes, to convert literally on
the fly. I find it much easier to have the weather app report in Celsius and
convert to Fahrenheit by using Siri to multiply the Celsius by 1.8 and then add
32 to the result. I know it seems a bit overwhelming at first blush, but as
you do this repetitively, you will find that you’ll find yourself doing the
math in your head faster than asking Siri.

Another quick translation method is to keep inm mind that every 5 degrees in C
increases the Fahrenheit temp by 9 degrees as follows:

0C = 32F
5C = 41F
10C = 50F
15C = 59F
20C = 68F
25C = 77F
30C = 86f
35C = 95F
etc.

Good Luck.

Wouldn’t it be nice if a weather app offered to report temps in both celsius
and Fahrenheit together?

Subject: When my I Phone goes out of my home's wifi range

Hi all,

When I walk out side of my home’s Wi-Fi range, my I Phone seamlessly auto
switches to cell data. That is if I am listening to something like YouTube or
a radio station.

But, if I am listening to a certain private nonsecure web site, I get an option
to join a different Wi-Fi signal. All of these are my neighbors Wi-Fi signals
so I don’t want to even try to join. At the end of this list of Wi-Fi options
is a cancel button. If I tap that, the phone appears to switch to cellular
data and I can then continue listening to this unsecure site when out of range
of my own wi-fi signal. In case it matters, the site is:

http://w5cqu.homeip.net:8100/

Is there a setting some where on my I Phone to cause this to seamlessly auto
switch like other web content does?

Hoping I explained this clear enough.

Thanks for any thoughts,

James B

As Dan said, sometimes waiting a couple seconds before speaking might help?

Are you using Hey Siri or holding the side button? If holding the button, the
tone to say Siri is listening does take longer to sound and it is much softer

James B

It really is soft. I can hear it better with a headset. If I don't have a

As Dan said, sometimes waiting a couple seconds before speaking might help?

Are you using Hey Siri or holding the side button? If holding the button, the
tone to say Siri is listening does take longer to sound and it is much softer
than it used to be.

When I get odd responses, it is because I didn’t speak clearly.

further questions about wifi calling

2022-10-26 Thread Paula Jordan
Hi, I'm trying once again to set up wifi calling.I swipe past "terms and
conditions" I can get as far as my address which is correct. Next I see
unchecked.png and I swipe right and again see png.unchecked, swiping right
again I see small checkmark.png. Past that Is a continue button. When I
double tap "continue" nothing happens. I can't seem to get to the agree
button. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

iPhone 14

2022-10-26 Thread Andrew Roberts
Hi

This week I have taken delivery of my new iPhone 14. It is running the latest
version of iOS 16 – 16.1

On all previous iPhones I have had I have been able to alter the volume of a
phone call, whether incoming or outgoing, using the volume buttons on the side.
 However with my iPhone 14, whilst I seem to be able to alter the volume of
incoming calls in this way (although not by much) I don’t seem to be able to
alter the volume of outgoing calls using the buttons on the side and I have to
say the volume currently on outgoing calls is a bit low for me. Does anyone
know whether this is a common problem with the iPhone 14 or whether I
potentially could have a hardware fault? When listening to anything through
the phone’s loudspeaker the volume buttons work fine.

All the best,

Andrew

Have you rebooted your iPhone since the update? I'd go ahead and do that and
see if that helps.

Hello list,

I just upgraded to 16.1 and I asked Siri what the temperature is and it named
locations with the word Temperature.
