having a very strange problem with voice over on my iPhone 6

2015-06-05 Thread 'Candy Lowe' via VIPhone
Hello everyone, I am having a very strange problem with voice over using my
iPhone six. This morning I slowed down the speech, I am using Alex. When I
went back and put it to the 35 per cent where I always keep it, when ever I
type letters, or use anything having to do with letters, the speach sounds
different, slow, like it did when I slowed it down.
The rest of things that I do, the speach is normal.
A while back, I lost the original female voice. Don't know what happened
there, but, I didn't do anything about it. I was wondering if I should wipe my
phone and start over. Any suggestions?

 Subject: voice dream mail?

 Hi.

can someone explain to me how to use this app? I open the app and can see my
inbox. I have several folders set up in my gmail account. Is there any way
to see all my folders? When I open the app my normal voice reads out the
email if I flick right and left. Do I need to turn voice over off in order
for the app to work? I can see the settings screen and have gone in to choose
a voice etc, I can’t see any help for the app. How do I know what the
gestures are? How do I get them to work?
I think that’s it for now.
 thanks.

Hope, I am not exactly sure if this is what you are talking about, but, there
are times that people send a group message to me. Maybe one of the people is
in my contact list, but, the rest of them are only friends of the person
sending the message. I search for the friend's name in my contacts. They will
show up as a single contact, and, then, also as a group. When I find the
group, I flick to the right, and it says, more information. I click on that,
and that is where I am able to delete the group. I hope this helps you.

Jennie, I am in total agreement with you. I have the Bose and love the head

wired headphones. I love the apple ear buds for dictation and Siri. They are
even great for answering calls, but, there are times that I need wireless, and
the Bose head set is awesome for phone calls. There is really no perfect set

If you have to have wireles, Bose would be the better choice if you want

turning voice over on and off while on a call

2014-11-25 Thread 'Candy Lowe' via VIPhone
Hello everyone,
There are times when I would like to be able to turn voice over on or off
during a call. There are times when I turn voice over off right before I put
the ear to begin talking, but, there are other times that I don't know I will
need to do that. For one instance, my 94 year old father lives with my husband
and me. Sometimes people call me, and then would like to speak to him. If I
leave voice over on, he seems to have a problem. If I turn it off during the
call, I get a lot of feed back, and the only way I can fix this is to put in a
pair of headphones and fix it that way. Any suggestions from any one?

entering my e-mail address on a web site

2014-10-27 Thread 'Candy Lowe' via VIPhone
Hello everyone, I have a question and I hope I can explain it correctly. When
I go to enter my e-mail address on some web sites, if I am using a blue tooth
keyboard, I can't type. I just hear the knocking noise. Then if I try to use
the braille input, same thing. If I use the regular apple keyboard on the
phone, I am able to type. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I double tap in the message text and then double tap the send audio button.

2014-09-29 Thread 'Candy Lowe' via VIPhone
Wayne, let me first start by saying I have the iPhone six 128 gig. I restored
from iCloud without any of these problems.there is an app called Smart Merge.
You may want to download it and try to put some of your contacts together. When
it sees duplicates it merges them.I had this problem in the beginning with my
for S.you might want to try that before you start manually typing or manually
deleting.

Greetings all. I got my new iPhone 6 64 GB last Friday. I restored
from my iCloud backup and synced my stuff from iTunes, but I have
noticed some issues with my Phone Contacts and Messages. In my
favorites in the phone app, some favorites only have the number for
the contact and not the name. I am also seeing this in the Messages
app on a group message for my work colleagues, where some of the
messages from the group have the number and not the person's name. All
information was displayed in iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 but it is not being
displayed in iOS 8. Is this an issue in iOS 8, or did all of the
information just not get updated when I downloaded everything from
iCloud? Has anyone else seen this? Pardon me if I am covering
something that has already been mentioned; I've gotten behind on the
flood of new iOS 8 messages.

Regarding fixing the issue, would I just go into the number and add
the name in the phone app? In Messages, if I choose add to contact,
will that disrupt the information already there? I have also noticed
that somewhere along the line, my contacts went from a little over 200
to over 450. I think some of them are my Gmail contacts, which are
mostly someone's email address and nothing else or their name and
email address and nothing else. Aside from going through each entry
and deleting it, is there a quicker way to restore the contacts I had
before, without doing a complete phone restore?

 Thanks bunch,
 Wayne

I am experiencing the same problem. The easiest fix for now is to turn voice
over off while you type the message. When you finish, turn it on and read it
back. Can't come up with anything better for now. One thing for sure, you can
type faster because the keys are more responsive with voice over off.

Thanks to the RiVo team for figuring this out. Perhaps Apple should hire

RiVO Troubleshooting tip: An issue in iOS 8.0 which makes Bluetooth
 keyboards not working

There is a small bug in iOS 8.0, which makes all the Bluetooth keyboards
including RiVO not working for VoiceOver except a few functions. We have
found a way to cope with it although not a neat one. Once the problem
disappears, however, it doesn't appear again unless you change the iPhone
Language in Settings, General, Language Region. To make the problem
disappear from your iPhone, follow the steps below:

 a. If you use just one software keyboard in iPhone, temporarily add
another in Settings, General, Keyboard, Keyboards, Add New Keyboard. You
 may add arbitrary one.

 b. Open the Notes app.

 c. Create a new note.

 d. Hold down L1 and press B7 to turn off the quick navigation option.

 e. Press L3 to turn RiVO into typing mode.

 f. Hold down L1 and press L3 a few times to cycle through the list of
 software keyboards.

 g. Hold down L1 and press B7 to turn on the quick navigation option.

 h. Now RiVO should work fine. If you want, you may delete the software
keyboard temporarily added at Settings, General, Keyboard, Keyboards.

 Thanks.

I mean, I don't think Apple can do this in one step. Or can they?

sending an email attachment on my iphone

2014-08-13 Thread 'Candy Lowe' via VIPhone
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there is any way to send an attachment by email on my
iPhone. I have an invoice that I have to send to a facility every month. I
have to change the date and then send it to them. For now, I am doing it on my
windows computer, but, would like to be able to do it on my phone if possible.
I have filed the invoice in my dropbox. If I send it that way, the people who
receive it will have to download the file, correct? It only sends the link,
right? Any advice is appreciated.

Also, how do you send a voice recording to a friend. I double tapped and
