I bought Apple® Wireless Keyboard!

2012-07-27 Thread Can Kırca
   Hi listers,

I'm so happy today, because I Upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS6 and bought a new
Apple wireless keyboard, it's wonderful!

All VoiceOver features are working without problem; however I can't use app
switcher for closing apps and drag-in drap icons between screens.

Do you have any sujjestion for these?

Best regards.

Hello.
Glad you were able to get a developer or that you upgraded your account to a
developer account to take advantage of iOS 6 beta. As for your question about
dragging apps and editing apps in the App Switcher, that particular double tap
and hold gesture isn't supported with keyboard input as far as I know. once you
do the double tap and hol gesture on the touch screen in the App Switcher
though, you can use all the other gestures with the keyboard commands. You
obviously cannot drag apps around the screen either, since the above gesture is
not supported. Even if it were, you have to physically drag your finger across
the screen in screen edit mode to accomplish this.

HTH,
Scott

there are 2 function keys, they are edge of the space.

I haven't used the RII keyboard, but I did just recently get a Verbatum
keyboard, and I would recommend it. It's a folding keyboard, so you'll get a
larger keyboard than the RII keyboard, especially when it's unfolded. On the up

Like I said, it's a folding keyboard. When folded it's about the size of a
small paperback book. When unfolded, it locks in place. It was meant to work
with IOS devices, so it has several dedicated keys on it, like a home key. You
can definitely touch type on it, although a few keys are in slightly different
positions. For example, the number keys 1 through
5 are shifted to the right a bit to make room for a few extra keys in the upper
left hand corner. The b key is a bit further away than normal since it's on the
other side of the fold.

Remember, I only recently got this keyboard, so I haven't put it through it's
paces yet. One of the reasons I got it, was I was able to purchase it locally,
so I could give it a try and return it if I didn't like it, but I don't plan on
returning it. I opted not to get a smaller keyboard that you could just thumb
type on because I feel I'm proficient enough with the virtual keyboard, and if
I was going to get a portable bluetooth keyboard, I wanted to be able to touch
type on it.

There have been several messages on this and other keyboards on the list
recently. I'd suggest checking out the archive and the applevis.com site.

I'm not sure. I bought it at my local Radio Shack, as opposed to on line, so I
don't have anything I can check at the moment. When I get some sighted help, I
can see if someone can find a model number. Others on the list have this
keyboard, and I think they've probably pointed to it on Amazon.com, so maybe
they can also answer this question.

spur increased collaboration on accessibility solutions among
developers from industry, consumer, and government sectors. The
event will encourage the use of accessibility APIs (application
programming interfaces), as well as publicly available data sets, in
order to build accessible apps for mobile phones and websites. A key
objective is to promote the concept and practice of developing
applications with regard for generally-accepted accessibility
guidelines, thereby maximizing their usability for everyone,
 including people with disabilities.

The event will offer training on development topics, in-person
collaboration on programming projects, and professional networking
 among developers.
 As
important as the actual event itself will be collaborative activity
in electronic spaces before, during, and after the event. Rather
than limit this to accomplishments that can be achieved during a
single, in-person event, this Developer event is not intended to be
an end in itself, but will instead serve as an organizing opportunity
to create mechanisms for ongoing collaboration among developers who
are interested in building accessible technology solutions.

It is also a goal of the AI to make smart use of new media tools to
create electronic spaces for such collaboration. We encourage others
to also activate online collaboration spaces associated with this
effort. To this end, we suggest use of a particular abbreviation,
DevAcc, as an electronic tag that facilitates searching and
 coordination toward these objectives.

Please pre-register for the event by sending your name, affiliation,
and contact information to dev...@fcc.gov by August 31, 2012. Also
send disability accommodation requests to fcc...@fcc.gov.

If there are particular ways that you'd like to participate, or
related activities that you'd like to inform us about, also feel free
 to write to dev...@fcc.gov.

The meeting site is fully accessible to people using wheelchairs or
other mobility aids. Open captioning and assistive listening devices
will be provided on site. Other reasonable accommodations for people
with disabilities are available upon request. Include a description
of the accommodation you will need and tell us how to contact you if
we need more information. Make your request as early as possible.
Last minute requests will be accepted, but may be impossible to fill.
 Send an e-mail to:
fcc...@fcc.gov or call the Consumer Governmental Affairs Bureau at
 202-418-0530 (voice), 202-418-0432 (tty).

The general session of the event will be webcast with open captioning
 at http://fcc.gov/live

I like the AmazonBasics KT-1081 blue tooth keyboard. Roughly $40.00.

What are you looking for in a keyboard? Do you want a portable keyboard or a
desktop keyboard? I recently just got the Verbatum keyboard. I got it at
Radio Shack, but I did see it on Amazon.

It folds in half, and even so, it's still a bit chunky, but when folded out,
it does lock in place and pretty much let's you touch type. The numbers still
trip me up since the #1 through #5 keys are shifted a bit to the right. The
'b' and the 'v' keys straddle the fold in the keyboard, so the 'b' key is a
bit more of a reach than usual, but other than that, like I said, I can
pretty much touch type on it. It also has a few IOS specific keys, like the
home key, the options key and probably more that I can't think of at the
 moment.

I got it so I had something I could use when typing a lot on the iPhone when
traveling. I have an old Rocketfish desktop keyboard (which I don't think is
sold anymore) that I can use at home, and I don't mind using dictation or the
virtual keyboard when out and about, but when traveling, I figured it would
be nice to take something small along that I could pull out in a hotel room
and do some typing. Maybe it'll encourage me to leave the laptop behind when
 vacationing!
