Voiceover choppy
I have two iPhone 15 pro maxs. Also have the most up to date iOS. Voice over voice seems choppy at times. I use Samantha enhanced. I have tried fixing it with deleting the enhanced downloaded voice and redownloading it. But it still is choppy at times randomly. Apple Pencil question
I am completely blind. I have a new iPad mini6. I have been thinking about getting the apple pencil but am not sure if there is any point to doing so since I am blind. The idea would be for me to be able to quickly take down a note such as jotting down a phone number, assuming that the iPad can turn handwriting into printed text. So, does anyone have any answers as to whether I should get one? Does the apple pencil work with voice over? Will the iPad reliably convert handwriting into printed text as advertised? Finding a widget to show shortcuts on lock screen
In short, I can’t find one. Well, to be precise, I found several. Hand writing accessibility feature and numbers
The handwriting feature allows you to select handwriting then draw with your finger letters. But every time I try to draw a number it doesn’t recognize it. I would like to be able to use hand writing to login to my iPhone by writing out the four digit code. Does anyone know if this is possible? First, is it possible for handwriting to recognize numbers? Which bank mobile app is most accessible

Fire fox voiceover error
Has anyone else had this issue? If you use Firefox and paste text copied from another application, fire fox constantly repeats something like “text pasted from messages.“ It doesn’t just say at once like chrome or Safari. Email dictation and voiceover problem
Has anyone experienced this issue? You dictate a reply to an email using dictation and it duplicates what you say at least once so each line is doubled if not tripled. Drafting this email right now, it doesn’t appear to be having that issue. Maybe that’s because I am drafting a new email not a reply? I can’t say that I have sat down and take aI can’t say that I have sat down and taken the time to test and see if this issue occurs when I am only replying or forwarding an email and not drafting a new email. The date and time input methods in calendar iOS 14 sucks
I don’t know why Apple decides to change some thing that worked perfectly. But there’s no longer a thicker for the date and time field. iOS 14.01 iPhone 11 Pro Max and today view from lock screen
It’s just easier for me to reply by starting a new thread sorry. People have said swipe right with three fingers brings up the today view on the lock screen. Not on mine for some reason. Four fingers to the right brings up control center to the left notification center but three fingers to the right does nothing. Even after I wake up the screen by hitting the side button. Getting to today view from lock screen anyone else repeat this error
How exactly do you get to today view from the lock screen? If I swipe right 4 Fingers Control Center comes up. Left 4 Fingers Notification Center. Up and down don’t seem to do anything. It is turned on in FaceTime and passcode. Voiceover and editing a widget in a stack on iOS 14
When you add a widget to the home screen such as shortcuts, you have several options. Before adding to widget you have options of the size of the widget you would like to add. After the widget appears on your screen you can flick up and hit edit and determine what folder you want the widget 2.2 in the shortcut app. This is just an example of how you can edit a widget. Can you edit any of the settings when the widget has been added to a stack? I see how you can rearrange widgets in the stack but there doesn’t appear to be any way to edit each widget once added to a stack. good afternoon. This is a long message but I urge you to read it all if you use voiceover. I have attempted to make a comprehensive list of all the errors I have noticed that far. Please comment and let me know if you can repeat any or all of these errors and if so, which ones. Also let me know how to contact Apple voiceover support to report these problems. I am having several problems with voiceover and iOS 14. I have tried to make a comprehensive list because these problems just started today or yesterday. I bought my iPhone 11 promax on September 8. I updated four or five days ago whenever the update was available. For some reason either I didn’t notice, or the problems were not occurring for the first few days. Can anyone else reproduce any or all of these issues? Reaching down to the right corner to hit the dictate button sometimes just holding my finger on the screen makes the iPhone click endlessly as if I am scrolling through thousands of pages This endless clicking when you hold your finger down on the screen also occurs randomly and other apps when you simply put a finger on the screen and don’t move it. It sounds like you’re moving it as fast as humanly possible clicking thousands of times but going nowhere The other day My iPhone completely became unresponsive in part. I could flip back-and-forth open up folders but could not open any app. double clicking did nothing. Siri would not do anything. Asking her to do anything at all resulted in her stating the obvious, there’s a problem. Holding down the power button and volume did not bring up slide slide to shut down I had to do a hard reset. For iPhones that do not have a home button, the way you do this is quickly pressing volume up, volume down, then holding the side power button until your phone shows the Apple logo Opening up the mail app focus get stuck on the search box in the search button continuously flicking right does not change the focus to the list of folders or list of male messages. The same thing happens when opening up the message application. Focus get stuck on the search box. The only way to get out of this is to tap somewhere else on the screen there by manually changing the focus to the list of text messages or list of emails or whatever Opening up settings accessibility voiceover audio and haptics none of the customizations for different functions, that is determining for each type of activity whether you want vibrate and or sound to occur, none of those customizations have any effect. Sound and vibrations are always played Occasionally when I go to the app switcher, the app switcher opens but the phone continues to read the home screen as if the app switcher never came up when the focus is on the enter button on the keyboard it used to be that flicking right once took you to the dictate button. Now, it sometimes clicks twice as if it is skipping and does not always read the full word, dictate. It interrupts itself like it struggling If you try to merge a call to do a three-way conversation, hitting add call takes you to the contact list so you can decide who else to add to the conversation. However voiceover jumps around like a jack rabbit and will not get off the first name in the alphabetical list of whatever group you were looking at. No matter where are you touching the screen it’s stuttering and only reads a portion of the first persons alphabetical name When reading the content of a widget displayed on the home screen, flicking upp down does not always bring up the options of next widget previous widget or edit like it supposed to. I was just about ready to send this email, put my finger on the send button flipped right in order to read the address carbon copy box in subject box, and instead voiceover took me to the keyboard options for attach pictures etc. I just tried it again and the air did not occur. It’s very hit and miss on that one. The problem mentioned above with the dictate button has already been explained. But I just remembered that because of this error, I deleted my emoji keyboard. Before the error was occurring but instead of stuttering over the word dictate, it would say :-) :-) :-) even though I was on the letter keyboard so to be clear, I would have my finger on the enter key, decide I wanted to dictate some text, flipp to The right, and instead of the word dictate, it would say :-) :-) : Those are what I have noticed so far. There are likely more such as focus not being able to be switched off of the search box in the settings app and less you manually do it by putting your finger somewhere else on the screen. It seems the more I use the phone the more errors occur. Calendar problem
I go into an event and choose calendar to change the calendar where the event displays all voiceover says is calendar calendar calendar. It does not read the title of the calendars. Shortcuts not fully accessible in ios13.xx
Ever since I upgraded to iOS 13 the ”show list” or ”choose from list” option is not fully accessible in created shortcuts. Oh yeah… And if I don’t immediately turn off voiceover at the end of a call my phone freezes forcing me to restart. I have iPhone 6s ios 13.12 and a broken heart that Steve Jobs is no longer here. Is there a talking camera for taking pictures of cards etc.
I would like to start taking pictures of my ID and other things. But it’s almost impossible to do so because the camera does not tell you when the item is in focus. IPhone 6s with IOS 12
I still have an iphone 6s with IOS 11. It runs great and i dont want to update if it will slow it down at all. I refuse to upgrade without a home button and/or audio port for now at least. Has anyone else updated to IOS12 on iPhone6s can tell me if it slows it down at all or if there are any bugs in calendar app or anything? Voiceover and miss spelled words continued
My voiceover is not indicating which words are misspelled. I went into general settings keyboard and check spelling is enabled. But when I swipe left and right it doesn't say misspelled even if a word clearly is misspelled. My other iPhone did this just fine. Does anyone know of an iPhone application that will play songs on a predetermined schedule? The alarm clock is not what I am talking about. Are IOS8 bugs on the iPhone6 also?
When IOS7 came out i installed it on my then iPhone5. There were bugs which I did not notice with the iPhone5s when i got it. Wondering if all these IOS8 bugs are happening on the iPhone6 or 6+ as well? I know they are happening on the older phones. One would hope it wasnt happening on the iphone for which the software was designed originally for. I have not updated to the latest version of YouTube version 2.5.1. Currently when I search and select channels none of the search result channels are read out loud. Anyone else having this problem with the latest iOS
In addition to the email problem which I posted about the other day, and yes I have since the update restarted my phone and it solves nothing, I also noticed that when windows pops up with notifications, such as whether to reply or forward a message, no sound is played anymore. I regret updating to 7.1
I noticed some differences at least on my phone when it comes to the latest and one would assume greatest IOS. I updated today and voice over functions slightly differently. for example, if you wish to reply to an email, previously tapping on reply would bring up the usual message asking if you wish to reply or forward. before updating vioce over would have the focus on the window that popped up. now? no. the focus remains on the original reply button at the bottom. it also allows you to hit it again and again and again which brings up window after window after window asking if you wish to reply or forward. now you have to move your finger to focus voice over onto the popped up window after hitting that lower reply button. anyone else having this problem? hope you can understand and or produce this on your phone for those who have updated -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. Does anyone know of a good iphone app which allows you to track followers and unfollowers on twitter? To track how many people have followed you and unfollowed you? I used "followers" an application for the iphone up until it started asking me to upgrade to a pay version. when you do it asks you to upgrade again. voice over letter by letter
alright. in IOS6 voice over would identify letters differently then IOS7 is currently doing so for me. Here is what i mean. If you are swiping through a word letter by letter, voice over used to read the letter and then say a word which begins with that letter in case you had a hard time hearing what letter had been said. so swiping through the word wall w a l l, voice over would first say the letter w if you swiped right one letter. then after a second it would say a word starting with the letter w such as white. doing the process again, voice over would then say A. then after a minute it would say a word begining with A such as apple. i have noticed that with IOS7 voice over does not do this. anyone can reproduce this? it makes it hard for people who have a little hearing damage determine the difference between letters which sound the same such as B C D V E. if this has been a feature removed from the IOS it is yet another example of how apple seems to like to change things which work great, simply for the purpose of changing them. I cannot understand why a function like this would be removed from the IOS. iPhone 5 S speed difference
I have an iPhone 5 and iOS seven. I noticed that iOS 7 seems sluggish with voice over. More on iOS seven
Earlier I posted that you could revert back to iOS 6. Unfortunately Apple has blocked that ability now. You were able to revert when iOS seven beta was out. But with the public release of iOS 7 you can't. Apple operating system is still the most accessible application on the market. But there are definite bugs in it compared to iOS 6. Why Apple doesn't put voice over features through a more rigorous testing process I don't know. But here are a compilation of the problems I have experienced thus far. Many have discussed the jerkiness of voiceover. IT will have experienced this. I have an iPhone five and iOS seven. To be more specific it occurs when typing in Twitter or typing messages. I will be typing a message and flick up or down one time to go past a word. Sometimes voice over will then we verse my motion. Instead of being at the end of the word as I intended suddenly I am at the beginning of the word. I'm a fairly educated individual having a doctorate degree. So it is not due to me accidentally touching the screen or anything on my part. It is a flaw in the software at least on my phone. Another example of a voice over error occurs in the Twitter application Twitterrific. Sometimes it will read a tweet again and again and again until I swipe left or right to move up or down the list of tweets. This I could be a problem with the Twitter application itself. However I have the most up-to-date version Most annoying problem I experience is regarding voice over when I am playing music or audio and the phone is locked. It occurs when I play audiobooks or music. Voice over will suddenly say screen locked. It will occur randomly and continuously. It usually occurs every 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Is a software glitch for sure. Sometimes I am able to prevent it from having this error if after locking the phone I disabled then reenable voice over. Other then a new look which doesn't appeal to me considering I'm blind and iTunes radio which I myself don't use there aren't many new features that I personally use. But as I said it is the most stable application on the market. I'm surprised that Google doesn't make their software accessible It is quite a shame considering they are designing driverless cars. To anyone who has the iPhone 5S
I am having a problem with iOS seven on my iPhone five. When I am playing audiobooks or music and have the phone locked voice over will occasionally say screen locked. It will say it for no reason at all. This is clearly a glitch on iOS seven. I was wondering if it occurs on the iPhone 5 S? Also is voice over unstable on the iPhone 5 S as it appears to be on the iPhone 5 with iOS 7? Problem with audible and iOS seven
When I am listening to an audiobook on the audible application and have my phone locked voice over says phone locked every minute or two this never occurred until I downloaded iOS 7. control center
I am not too happy with IOS7 myself. Dont recommend updating to IOS 7
personally, i do not recommend updating to IOS7. i did on my iphone 5 and here is what i dislike about it. i know some may disagree and that is fine. sometimes people attack you when you dare criticize the GREAT APPLE! problems i have in IOS7 1. slower. i have noticed on my iphone 5 voice over seems to run slower. it seems to be more sluggish on speech and flicking through applications. the phone also takes a half or more of a second to lock when i click the lock button. 2. voice over sounds are different. on the ipad voice over, voice over would always make a sound when you flick from different frames or areas on the page. for example, if you are on an ipad and in the messages application, try flicking from the message display area down into the text message box where you type new messages. you do this by flicking right. on the ipad voice over always made a unique noice indicating that you have gone into a new area of the screen. the iphone voice over never did this. well, on the new IOS 7 it now does. this annoying 3. the side switch no longer silences flicking sounds. on IOS 6 the switch above the volume buttons would silence the clicks made on voice over when one flicks left or right. on the new IOS7 this switch has no effect on the special clicks and noises associated with voice over. 4. voice over looses focus. i have noticed, and perhaps it is just me, that voice over sometimes looses focus on where you were last on the screen. it is difficult to explain and perhaps i am the only one who has this problem. but, sometimes when i am flicking right down a page, voice over appears to jump back to the top or loose focus in some other manner. voice over was always completely stable in IOS6 and i never had this problem. nor did i ever have voice over read previously read aloud text at the wrong time when such text was not being selected and should not have been read. again, difficult to explain. but, i do not believe voice over is as stable as it used to be 5. finally, i dont see any real feature enhancements. without any real enhancements i wouldnt update. just my recommendation -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. I got old version of Twitterrific to work
I do not like the new version of Twitterrific which is version five. It sucks. Voice over has a glitch in it where it repeats some of the most recent tweets multiple times. I got the old version to work. Go into the App Store under updates and purchases select applications not installed on this device and look for Twitterrific version 4.5. twitterrific no longer works
I have an update on the earlier post i made indicating that the app twitterrific is no longer working. after being unable to get the app to work last night, i uninstalled it from my iphone thinking i could just download the same version from the App Store. However, the version of twitterrific i see in the App Store is version 5. it did not show up on my list of updates probibly because unlike the first version, this version costs money. I dont believe the first version cost anything anyways. i went ahead and purchased the $3.00 twitterrific version 5 application and it is accessable. having said that however, i dont like it. it is arranged differently. also, voice over has a tendency to mistakingly say the author of a tweet three times in a row before reading a tweet. it does not happen all the time; only every now and then. for example sometimes instead of reading the authors name and then the content of the tweet it will say "new york times New York Times New York Times" then whatever the times tweeted. i emailed the designer of the app when i learned it was not working. i never recieved any feedback. then after finding out about this new costlier version, i emailed again. however, unlike the first time, my email did not go through. dont know whats thats all about. anyways, new version has glitches with voice over although only minor ones. wish the older version still worked because it was easier to use i think. if anyone is able to get the old version to work let me know. i have a backup of the older version on my computer and might uninstall the latest version and attempt to see if reinstalling the older version makes it work once again. however, apparently i am not the only one who is finding that it is no longer working. on that issue, why might it be working? a developer could not have done something on their end to provent the older version from working. either twitter had a change in its settings that the developer took advantage of in releasing a new version which costs money, or the app was designed to stop working at a certain period of time. never seen an iphone application stop working without some update having been made and screwing it up. but, if no change in the IOS took place and no update in the app took place, i dont see how it would just stop working in this manner. https://Twitter.com/JimLockwoodShow -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. As of 430 this afternoon my Twitterrific application is no longer updating my Twitter feed. It says Twitter error 401. Is anyone else having this problem? How to safeguard against on accessible updated application
Hello I am completely blind and have been using an iPhone for several years now. One of the problems us blind users clearly face is some apps become inaccessible in updated versions. Since Apple does not provide any way to reverse an update if we don't have a backup of the application we are screwed. What I do to avoid this problem as much as possible is sync my iPhone with my computer at least once a month. Before and after I do I copy everything in the mobile application folder into another folder. Therefore even if applications have been updated on the phone and iTunes Deletes them from the default mobile application folder I always have a running back up of older versions of applications. If an application becomes inaccessible I delete it from the phone. I then go to the computer delete the latest version from iTunes as well. I Then go to file open in iTunes and look for a previous version in my backup of my applications. Once added to iTunes from my backup I sync it with my phone. So if you want to maintain a backup of all previous versions of app so you will avoid the problem of them being inaccessible in later versions be sure to make a copy now of everything in your mobile application folder and do so after every sync with the phone I would also turn off the option in iTunes to download purchased applications on the iPhone. You don't want iTunes automatically downloading applications you purchase on your iPhone because older versions are deleted from the default mobile application folder. They might be deleted before you have the opportunity to back them up. Also consider keeping a running back up of mobile applications on your computer will take up a great deal of space depending on how many applications you have. But if you have multiple hard drives as I do it not a big deal Feel free to ask any questions and good luck. Calendar selection error has spread to the phone application in 6.01
In operating system 6.0 there is an error in the calendar in which voice over will not indicate which calendar is selected. After updating to 6.01 I find that sometimes groups of contacts will not indicate they are selected in the phone app. I recommend not updating to 6.01 until Apple fixes this issue. I want to emphasize that 6.01 has not fixed the calendar selection error and it has spread at least on my phone to the phone application. They should be an option to allow you to integrate each day weather in the calendar so you can schedule a band and see when it is going to be sunny or rainy or cold et cetera. Remote access with iPhone
I have a PC with Windows 7 in my office and want to be able to control it with my iPhone in my living room through Wi-Fi. I know there are applications that allow you to control the playing of music and other specific application. However I want to be able to control the computer and see the desktop and if I was using remote access through Windows itself. I have window eyes on my Windows 7 computer. Is there any program that allows you to experience the same experience on the iPhone that you would using remote access through Windows itself. Problem with iPhone five for iOS six calendars invoice over
I am not sure if this is an error on iOS six or the iPhone five itself. However when in the calendar application voice over does not read which calendars are selected. The only way a person knows one of his calendars is selected to be displayed is if the events in that calendar are displayed. For example take a look at the phone application. If you have groups of contacts in the phone application voice over reads the name of each group and then the word selected after it to indicate which groups of contacts will be displayed. Voiceover does not read the word selected after a calendar name to show you which calendars of events will be displayed. Hope that makes sense. James H. Disappointed in do not disturb functionality of iPhone five
When I first heard about the scheduling function in do not disturb on the iPhone five I thought that it would allow you to schedule the phone to ignore calls at certain .periods during a certain day. However the application only allowed you to establish quiet hours during which calls will be ignored every single day. However the do not disturb function would be a lot more useful if it allowed you to set different times for different days. For example if I know I have a court appearance tomorrow at 2 o'clock it would be very useful for the phone to have a function in which I can schedule the program to block calls during that time. Then the following day if I have a meeting at 1 o'clock I can set the phone to ignore calls for that time as well. It could be a checkmark option when scheduling an event in the calendar. Therefore you would never have to worry about your phone accidentally being left on and going off in an important meeting. When you schedule the meeting you would have already told your phone to ignore calls for that time. I don't know if anyone can develop an application which would do this so we don't have to wait for the iPhone six for this functionality. However if someone does develop such an application I would be willing to pay quite a bit for it. James H. Ever Since updating to iOS six in the iPhone five the Twitter application does not seem to be fully accessible. I cannot see a running list of tweet from the people who I follow. new youtube app

request for a timer app
ok. i am producing this radio show podcasts. i want it to last around 15:30 minutes. but i am finding that i run over the time as i am speeking into my microphone. i need an app that allows you to time yourself and read the time out loud. talking timer is not good enough i have used it. it only allows you to have each minute or every five minutes read aloud. i need to be able to predetermine the time the program anounces the remaining time. for instance for a 15:30 minute show i would like it to read fifteen minute remaining at 15:00 thirty seconds into the show. by this time my intro should be over. from then on i want the program to read out the time every 3 and a half minutes. so it will again anounce the time remaining at 11:30 and again at 8 minutes and again at 430 and again at 1 minute remaining. there might not be an app for this and if not i will have to create a sound file consisting of silence and me reading off the time myself. but if there is a timer app which allows you to predetermine the intervols in which the time is read aloud and that intervols can be variable in that it does not always need to be the same throughout the period of time being measured, if that makes any sence, then let me know of the apps name. any programers out there i would be willing to pay quite a bit of money for such an app. oh, and my podcasts will soon be on itunes and it will be called the lockwood report or jim lockwood show. soon there will be a website at my address of jimlockwoodshow.com and the show deals with politics from a conservative viewpoint. have a great day and thanks for reading, if you get this far jim -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. Is there such a time announce at
I'm going to be giving a speech. I need an app that will read off time interval which I determine ahead of time. For example I would like to set the time for 15 minutes and then instruct the app to read out how much time is remaining as frequently as I need. So the app might say 12 minutes remaining and then 10 minutes remaining and then eight minutes remaining and so forth. It would be too distracting for the app to read out every minute. I don't know if there is such an app but if so please let me know what it is. Finally preferably if I were to have the app read out in two minute interval the app should be able to read out in one minute interval or even 30 seconds when I have one minute remaining. accessability of mac computers and operating system
ok. yesterday i posted a question about recording from multiple channels and microphones. i understand mac computers are really good with audio recordings. i have always been a pc user and am wondering how accessable mac computers are? i want to create podcasts with a microphone and be able to have music playing in the background. i want it to be pretty good quolity. i know the iphone and ipad are both very accessable. as stated above, i use a pc with window eyes. so two part question. 1. how accessable are mac computers and the mac OS? 2. any suggestions on which mac i should get for doing what i stated above? createing podcasts consisting of my recorded voice with music playing in the background? this is presuming that mac computers accessable. keep in mind that i am completely blind. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. audio mixer programs and best Microphone
hello all, this does not solely deal with the ipad or iphone but figured i would ask incase anyone on here knew. i am looking for a great audio mixing program for the pc which is accessable. anyone know of one? i want to record my voice speeking into a mic plugged into my computer and have music playing behind my voice, similar to people on radio. garage band is not for the pc i dont think and i dont think the ipad version can do this or can it? if there is not any accessable pc program then is the suggestion i get a mac with garage band? my last question pertains to microphones. anyone know of a really good mic which plugs into the computer? i want a really high quolity one and if anyone knows of such a version let me know too thanks -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. Anyone want to make some money? Develop this application
If someone is looking for a good idea for an application to design they should design an iPhone and iPad application that contains the Ohio administrative code. For anyone who is a lawyer or involved in legal issues there is a difference between Ohio statutes and a state administrative code. Currently there is no application containing the Ohio administrative code or the minute bit of code of most states. often times and administrative code depending on what the field of law you are in is more important than a state statute. Just an idea if anyone is interested in what kind of application to design. Remember the application is only valuable if it is continually updated with amendments and changes to the state administrative code. James H. Calendar error with all day event
Ever sense I updated to 5.10 my calendar crashes when I attempt to select all day event when indicating the start and end time for a calendar entry I have an iPhone for S and we storing the phone through the settings menu or through iTunes does not fix the problem. I am wondering if anyone has also experienced this problem and if they were able to fix it how? As I said restoring the phone by plugging into iTunes and having the software we downloaded did not fix the problem I called Apple and they were dumbfounded indicating that of course they've never heard of this problem.
