I'd be curious to see if keys stuck when Voice Over wasn't running.

Okay, thank you. This is not going to be a one line message. When I got the
information I sent it to you all, but then I tested it and also found that I
had a problem with the tone sticking. I didn't know to hit the town twice so
the first time it stuck I closed out my phone from the app switcher and it
quit the next time it did not, so I had to turn my phone off and then back
on when I tried again after turning the phone back on it did not stick.
Interesting.I will let the Apple support person know what I have discovered,
and as I get new information I will send it to you all. Nice that we can
help each other. The engineer said or whoever told the Apple support person
said that they are looking into fixing the two enhance voices the enhanced
quality voice and the Alex voice so that the tone will not stick with them.
But I will let them know that the tone is also sticking with this voice.
Thanks for the reply. God bless, wren Langley

2014-10-01 Thread Cheryl Homiak
Are you hitting the tone immediately or does this work if you have pressed
other keys after the one that stuck? My problem is that I don't always know
which key did it unless I am dialing very slowly. But this has motivated me to
put commas and extension numbers in my contacts so they dial that way from
contacts. There were some I had never before gotten around to doing. This
doesn't avoid the problem totally but it does eliminate some of the possibility
of this bug striking.

Hi Shawn, I do believe he got it from one of his engineers. The engineer said
that he was looking they were looking into the problem and trying to get it
fixed. This is not meant to argue. Just to put some light on the situation. Of
course you do have a right to your own opinion. And everyone is entitled to

I find it a little hard to believe that the high-quality voice and Alex are the
reason why the tones are sticking. I think that support person doesn't know

would stop. Only once have I had to turn off my phone completely and

Re: A workaround when the keypad sticks when making a call with VoiceOver

2014-10-01 Thread Lea Langley
Okay, thank you. This is not going to be a one line message. When I got the
information I sent it to you all, but then I tested it and also found that I
had a problem with the tone sticking. I didn't know to hit the town twice so
the first time it stuck I closed out my phone from the app switcher and it quit
the next time it did not, so I had to turn my phone off and then back on when I
tried again after turning the phone back on it did not stick. Interesting.I
will let the Apple support person know what I have discovered, and as I get new
information I will send it to you all. Nice that we can help each other. The
engineer said or whoever told the Apple support person said that they are
looking into fixing the two enhance voices the enhanced quality voice and the
Alex voice so that the tone will not stick with them. But I will let them know
that the tone is also sticking with this voice. Thanks for the reply. God
bless,wren Langley

A workaround when the keypad sticks when making a call with VoiceOver

2014-10-01 Thread Lea Langley
Hi all, I got this from the Apple support person that I have been talking to.
Remove both the enhanced voice and the Alex voice. Then you will have your
original voiceover voice back the tones do not stick with this voice. The
enhanced quality voices Alex and the enhanced quality voice are new and these
are the two voices that the tones stick in.to remove the voices go to settings
then general then accessibility then voiceover then to the US English then to
edit and then delete one voice hit the done button repeat the same process and
delete the other voice. God bless, Wren Langley PS if this is not explained
well enough please tell me and I will try to do better.
