lol.

That has to be one of the silliest things I've heard this week. A hundred
dollars is a hundred dollars. If your a person that doesn't crave for the
latest and greatest. There is very little difference between the
performance of the 4S and iPhone 5. I should know, I have both. :). So,
why should one pay an extra $100 for improvements they might not notice or
care about? Even if they had millions of dollars.

The last two responses related to US issues, I think it is already well
stated that this is a uK purchase. Here, all phones work on all carriers or
said carriers owuld beout of business. So long as it's unlokced, he can
put his existing simm in or buy a PAIG or something; we don't have to pay
thousands. £500/yr would be high by any standard over here. A 2 yr contract
and get the phone thrown in for that.

I do not have a 4S, however I would want to know how old the 4s is. Also,
are you sure you can use this particular phone with your carrier as, or will
some type of modification be necessary.

You also need to keep in mind that althougha 5 is more expensive you also
get a one-year warranty, and support for any problems you might encounter
along the way. Isn't that worth something?

Ok, you used the £ sign so a UK purchase; and that is lower than the dialup

Hi, I would go for it if it was me. The iPhone 5 offers faster processor
and it's of course got more screen space, but the camera is the same,
the storage options are the same of 16, 32, and 64 gb, and so, again, if
it saves you a lot of money, go for the 4S.

Re: Advice on purchasing iPhone 4s

2012-11-03 Thread Rob Harris
When users were first getting their iPhone 5s, the commono pinion seemed to
bei n favour of the more solid - or apparently so - constructiono f the 4s,
the speed difference was there but not that great and it did all we need to
do with it. So if there's enough to save, it has to be worth saving. In
the uK, the 4s is down to Ł449 against the 5's Ł529. They even offered me
a 4 model for about Ł359 or something like that. Remember, the one you
mention is almost certainly 2nd hand, that takes the price down almost as
quickly as scratches and blemishes.

Raul,

Thanks to you all; for the response. I've just posted some figures, I should
have done it to start with, good point, alex. If anybody felt they could
comment further, please do. The price of £380 is in pounds as I live in the UK.
Electronics appear to be much more expensive this side of the pond.

Re: Advice on purchasing iPhone 4s

The 4S is extremely robust, solid, and snappy. Definitely a worthy
choice if you can save some dough. Some people even prefer the design
of the 4S to the 5.

My 4S is plenty good enough for me, Only had it since July so I am not even
considering a 5 at this point.

Dear Listers,

This is an urgent request for your views. I have an opportunity of
purchasing an iPhone 4s at a good price. I know that iPhone 5 has just
arrived, and it seems like a counter-intuitive thing. but would those of you
who have been using and are still using iPhone 4s express their opinion
whether it is still worth my while purchasing iPhone 4s?

I'd really welcome your opinion in face of the fact that I would be saving a
lot of money buying the iPhone 4s as opposed to 5 for now.

Please write off list if you feel it is more appropriate.

Many thanks and i look forward to your views.

With best wishes

RE: Advice on purchasing iPhone 4s

When the Iphone 5 first came out I saw a list of values for older phones.
Depending on storage, I believe the 4s was around $200, give or take.

Hi, I would go for it if it was me. The iPhone 5 offers faster processor and
it's of course got more screen space, but the camera is the same, the
storage options are the same of 16, 32, and 64 gb, and so, again, if it
saves you a lot of money, go for the 4S.

Because it's not up to us to decide on whether it's a good deal or not.
For example if someone saves $100 USD by purchasing the 4S instead of
the 5, some will agree it's worth it and others will not. If the savings
are $50, again, some will agree and some will not. If he wants our
advice based on the dollar savings, then of course you are right that he
should post the numbers. Otherwise, if all we have to go on is a
recommendation on saving some money and getting a specific phone, then
that's all we can go on.
