RE: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
It was coming out of the phone ear piece when it was lying flat on the desk. Never got it to work even after I installed and then reinstalled. No big deal right now. BTW, I hate daylight saving time. I thought I had my phone set so it would not change time since I am Arizona. My alarm went off and I jumped up, ran for the shower, got dressed and turned on the radio, the wrong stuff was on and when I check a different clock, it seems I got up an hour early. considering my phone says it is set on Phoenix time, I don't have a clue why that happened, my husband's 5 did not change. I was a bit unhappy to realize I got out from my nice cozy bed an hour earlier than I needed to. Why do we keep flipping times anyway, I had three clocks I had to mess around with in my free hour this morning. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Alan Paganelli Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2013 3:15 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check? RE: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
Hi, I got the extras. To me just being able to import the reminders into Alarmed is worth the 2 bucks. I think that purchasing the extras is worth a couple of bucks even if its just to encourage the developer to create other great Vo accessible apps like this one. Re: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
The author of this app says it's great if you need to take medicines on a pretty tight schedule. With certain drugs they start out with small doses and increase that over time until the desired amount is reached. Bikeways, the reverse is true as well and they want you to take the drugs at a specific time. For example, like I said in my original post, you could set up reminders to occur the first Wednesday of the month, every other day, whatever. Re: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
The developer actually is a really nice guy and you'll get a reply from him if you contact him. If I remember right, I contacted him because in his extras package of sounds there is a coocoo clock. I wondered if it could be made to chime the hour count. He said it was just a wake up sound and not intended to coocoo the hour but it was something to think about for the future. - Original Message - From: "Chris H" To: Sent: Friday, March 08, 2013 3:58 AM Subject: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check? Hello all Thank you for your help. I'm pleased to report the Alarmed app is just what I was after. I was able to set a super reminder to occur on the first Wednesday of every month. I love this app to bits! Don't get me wrong, the default calendar/reminder apps are good, but if you want more customization and flexibility, the Alarmed app is the way to go. It is completely free in the app store, with an in-app purchase for the extras pack should you wish to do that. I did this very thing, because I want to support the developer with the excellent work he has done to make this app 100% accessible with VoiceOver. I'd suggest you email the developer. I did that with a question I had once, and got a personal reply within hours. As far as I know, only iCloud synching is possible. You can however import reminders from the stock Reminders app, both manually and automatically if you paid for the extras pack, which also includes iCloud Synching. Neil, I don't know because I do not have Siri on my iPhone 4. What I like though is the amount of customization and flexibility the app offers. For example, like I said in my original post, you could set up reminders to occur the first Wednesday of the month, every other day, whatever. It's just so flexible compared to the stock Calendar/Reminders apps. Christopher Hallsworth On 08/03/2013 15:02, Neal Ewers wrote: Chris, what does this do that Siri is not able to do? JoJo, When you create your reminder, there is a super reminder button you want to press. Then you want todouble tap on repeat. Next flick down, and there is a picker item that allows you to choose how many days you want to be reminded. I hope this makes sense. If not, feel free to write me back. Re: Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
I have the alarmed app and am wondering if there is a way to create a reminder that would occur every other day? Alarmed was Re: Calendar event, can I check?
Hello all Thank you for your help. I'm pleased to report the Alarmed app is just what I was after. I was able to set a super reminder to occur on the first Wednesday of every month. I love this app to bits! Don't get me wrong, the default calendar/reminder apps are good, but if you want more customization and flexibility, the Alarmed app is the way to go. It is completely free in the app store, with an in-app purchase for the extras pack should you wish to do that.
