Re: Annoying Buffering Behavior Gone in IOS 10

2016-10-08 Thread 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone

Hi there,

Well, if ever you have the time and inclination and are brave enough,
I'd re-install if I were you!

If I am me, and I am, then perhaps I wouldn't be bothered ...

I do admit that such a bug is rather annoying though.

Thanks, Carol. It is definitely a relief. I still have the old behavior on my
iPhone 4S and a first generation iPad mini which I can't upgrade to IOS 10, but
at least it's gone on what I can upgrade.

Since this happened on a relatively new iPad which I hadn't done much set up
on, I had actually tried erasing everything and setting it up as new, and that
still didn't work. So, needless to say, I am very happy, and glad yours is now
working also!

Oh, Pam, I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. I think, honestly, I'd have
cured it if I'd wiped my phone and reinstalled, but I couldn't be
bothered to do that, knowing that an upgrade was just a few weeks away,
so I left it and my decision was the right one.

Anyway, I am glad you are also sorted now.

When I read Carol's recent post about Voiceover reading text that seemed to be trapped in the
buffer, it reminded me of a somewhat similar situation I was having. After I apparently had used
the wrong gesture to label a folder called "Cooking", Voiceover would say
"Cooking" every time I changed screens, moved to the first app on a screen, moved from
the main screen into the doc, etc. This behavior had then replicated itself to my other devices.

Apple accessibility was not able to find a solution, so I heard a lot of
"Cooking".

I am very happy to say that when I updated to IOS 10, as with Carol, this
annoying behavior is gone.

So if anyone else is having some kind of strange buffering behavior, it may be
worth upgrading. It definitely was for me.
