Yes I'd like info on such a setup myself! I used to use the "CeroTap"
app on my Iphone, plus its home page over at

http://www.orru.org/zerotap/magicbox.php

but it hasn'been updated to work properly with iOS10. Thanks for info.

I use an app called Snippets by Notable Group to copy data between my Windows 7
computer and my iPhone 7. This app used to be named Text sync and uses a
dedicated web page where you can copy data into a text box for pasting between
the two.

Good luck.

Hi Alan,

The app store description doesn’t say what you get for unlocking the full
version for $1.99, do you know what the difference is?
This looks interesting.

Richard,

I'm sorry but I can't for the life of me remember what that Snippets in app

probably unlocked some features I never use.

RE: Copy and paste from windows to iPhone, need an app:

2017-01-28 Thread Alan Lemly
Carol,

I generally leave Snippets running in my App Switcher. I believe I'm going from
my PC to my iPhone about 95% of the time I use it but I keep the website
bookmarked in Firefox. When I open the bookmarked URL which is usually
192.168.1.72.2121, it usually comes up displaying what's already on the
Snippets app. I won't say it's seamless but it works almost all the time. I
have had to retype the 192 URL on occasion into my browser but as long as both
your iDevice and computer are using the same wi-fi network, it works smoothly.
I will delete the text which appears from the app in my browser and type in
what I need to transfer from my computer to the iPhone in the browser window
text box. It appears in the app where I can easily copy and paste it.

Casey,

The snippets app has a free version plus a $1.99 version although I don't
recall what the differences are. As long as your I device and computer are
running on the same WiFi network, text can easily be copied between the two
using the app and the dedicated url provided by the app which you navigate to
with your browser on your computer.

I also do not remember what all was added to the app, but it did indeed remove

2017-01-29 Thread Jan Kleinhans
Hi
And to add to this, it is nice when there might be a document somewhere on the
pc that you wish to share in that way, as one can just open that document, copy
it and then paste it into the app that way. I have used this feature many a
time. Likewise, sometimes I get an e-mail message on the pc, and then I want
to share this via another platform like whatsapp, so I can then copy the
contents of the mail into the app and then share it on whatsapp.

  Carol,

I generally leave Snippets running in my App Switcher. I believe I'm going
from my PC to my iPhone about 95% of the time I use it but I keep the website
bookmarked in Firefox.

Hi listers.

I used to use a windows program called easy push and its iphone ap called
UbiDisc.

The iPhone app is now to old.

this set of programs I could use to copy text from the clicpboard on my
windows pc to my iPhone.

Any suggestions for a current set of programs to easily do this?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Copy and paste from windows to iPhone, need an app:

2017-01-29 Thread Alan Lemly
Dave,

No, Snippets can't be used to move files between your computer and your iOS
device. Apple pretty much runs a closed file system in the iOS world and other
than using cloud-based services such as Dropbox, you pretty much have to use
iTunes to move files between your computer and your iDevice.

RE: Copy and paste from windows to iPhone, need an app:

2017-01-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You probably refer to the Windows 10 application called the “Snipping Tool”
which is different.
There is also the app called Zero Tap, haven’t used it in a while, but I think
it it still works.
On the PC you just put a shortcut on the desktop to the Zerotap website, you
can sign in and tell it to remember your user name and password, then write or
paste your text in the text box on the PC and as soon as you open Zero Tap on
the iPhone the text will be copied to the pasteboard, you can go to any app and
paste it in.

Sieghard

I am sure you could copy an entire Word document and then paste it into the
Word app on the iPhone, but whether it would preserve the formatting is another
question. Why not just use OneDrive, save your document to OneDrive on the PC
