Re: How to search?

2021-12-02 Thread Donna Casteen
Kay, Try tapping on headings, upper left. When I just looked on my watch I
didn't have a search field either. Tapping on headings added search.

Hi Carolyn,

It's like having a little phone on your wrist,

About an inch and a half give or take square on your wrist,

I think you'd be fine using it
And yes I believe apple vis have docs on it or at least the operating system.

Good luck and hope you enjoy it when you get it.

So far it hasn't been that hard to learn. Apple vis does have podcasts on
apple watch 101, but I didn't like them much because they are really out of
date and much stuff is not applicable. Hadley has a pretty good workshop on
the apple watch. Mystic Access has a good tutorial and it is $39.

To find a specific app, tap the Search field at the top of the screen, then
type (Apple Watch Series 7 only), or use dictation or Scribble to enter the

The only way I know to search the app store on the watch is to use Siri.
Hold in the brown and say Find XX app in the app store.

Hi Carolyn,

It's like having a little phone on your wrist,

About an inch and a half give or take square on your wrist,

I think you'd be fine using it
And yes I believe apple vis have docs on it or at least the operating system.

Good luck and hope you enjoy it when you get it.

RE: How to search?

2021-12-02 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Kay,

If you opened he app store once and did the continue etc
Then press the digital crown to go back to your apps menu on the watch and then
open the app store again and the search option should be there the second thing
after the app store in the top left corner.

Hope this helps.

And take your time

I still haven’t found half thethings this watch does
It’s got a shit load of stuff you’ll probably never never or worry about.

Think of it as a digital maze,
And you’re trying to find your way through it.

I get lost every time I go looking.

It has been suggested to me to get an Apple watch.

Are they easy to learn to use?

Does Applevis have any tutorials on them?

Here is what I found in an Apple support article:

To find a specific app, tap the Search field at the top of the screen, then
type (Apple Watch Series 7 only), or use dictation or Scribble to enter the
name of the app. You can also browse trending categories of apps by tapping a
category.

So it would appear that unless you bought a new series 7 Apple Watch you can't
search except to use the work-around Richard described or search on your iPhone
and then install the app on the watch.

apple watch 101, but I didn't like them much because they are really out of
date and much stuff is not applicable. Hadley has a pretty good workshop on
the apple watch. Mystic Access has a good tutorial and it is $39.

It has been suggested to me to get an Apple watch.

Are they easy to learn to use?

Does Applevis have any tutorials on them?

Yes guys, another apple watch question. I am listening to the Mystic Access
tutorial on the apple watch and because Lisa is using a series 4 watch,
there are some differences. One thing I noticed on her watch is when she
goes in to the app store on the watch, there is a search button. When I do
this, there is just a list of items but no search button. Where is it ?
Thanks for any help.

Apple Watch [was "RE: How to search?"]

2021-12-02 Thread Christopher Chaltain
If you already have an iPhone then learning the basics of how to use an Apple
Watch will be pretty easy. You'll just need to pick up a few new gestures
concerning the crown and the other button on the side, and you'll be off and
running. The Apple Watch has a lot of features though, so it'll take you some
time learning how to choose and setup your watch faces, try out the different
apps and so on, but you'll find it productive pretty much right out of the box.

Whether you should get one or not will depend on what you'll be using it for
and whether the extra convenience of having an Apple Watch is worth the cost. I
have one and I'm glad I do, but I'm not sure I'm using it for anything I
couldn't use my iPhone for.

How to search?

2021-12-02 Thread Kay Malmquist
Yes guys, another apple watch question. I am listening to the Mystic Access
tutorial on the apple watch and because Lisa is using a series 4 watch,
there are some differences. One thing I noticed on her watch is when she
goes in to the app store on the watch, there is a search button. When I do
this, there is just a list of items but no search button. Where is it ?
Thanks for any help.

How do you tell which mail boxes are on and off, please as they don't actually

Sorry, but it's not quite working for me.

Hi Carol,

When you open the mail app, make sure you are at the main view, that is
where you see your account or accounts and mailboxes. At the top right is an
"Edit" button. Activate it and then explore the screen. Here you can now
turn off, for example, the "All Inboxes" mailbox which I believe is on by
default and you can turn on mailboxes like "Unread", "All Trash", "All
Drafts" etc. If you select to display the "unread" mailbox, then you can
double tap on it to display only unread messages in any of the accounts you
have set up.
Note that you can also reorder in which order your mailboxes and accounts
are displayed, e.g. you can put "Unread" at the top or put "VIP" at the top
etc. To do this, find the "Reorder" button to the right of each mailbox,
double tap and hold on it and then drag your finger up or down on the
screen.

Hi Carol,

I think what he means, is that after you press the edit button, the mailboxes
that he says are on or off say selected or nothing. In other words mine says,
"Selected all mailboxes," but the unread mailbox doesn't say "Selected" I hope
this makes sense.

RE: HOW TO SEARCH FOR UNREAD MESSAGES IN MAIL BOXES

2015-10-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Sorry, maybe I should have said "selected" and not "on". Voiceover will say,
for example, "Selected, All Inboxes" or "Selected, Unread" If it just says the
name of the mailbox it is not selected for display. This is basically like
items in the rotor settings, if just the rotor function is announced the
function will not be available in the rotor, if Voiceover says "selected" and
then the function it will be included on the rotor. For example, you may hear
"Visited links" or "Tables" and if you double tap on these items Voiceover will
say "selected, visited links" or "selected, tables".

Sieghard

Hi Sieghard,

Thanks so much for your explanation. I'm not quite there yet ...

How do you tell which mail boxes are on and off, please as they don't actually
say "On/Off" to me. Also, do you have to turn in-boxes off before you can turn
on the box you want to display?

Note that you can also reorder in which order your mailboxes and accounts
are displayed, e.g. you can put "Unread" at the top or put "VIP" at the top
etc. To do this, find the "Reorder" button to the right of each mailbox,
double tap and hold on it and then drag your finger up or down on the
screen.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: HOW TO SEARCH FOR UNREAD MESSAGES IN MAIL BOXES

hi all,

I saw a recent tip on how to find the unmarked messages in mailboxes other
than the inbox, but now I can't find it. At the time of reading it, I didn't
really understand it either! I know it involved changing the view of the
mailbox. However, I can't even find how to view the mailbox, so can't go any
further!

If anyone has a clue on this, please let me know!

Thanks!

HOW TO SEARCH THE ARCHIVES!!!

2014-02-06 Thread Anthony Vece
Hi Everyone;

I am trying to search the archives of this group.

Ultimately, I am trying to find out how to make a playlist from an CD that I
have imported into the latest version of iTunes.

Please help?

And, if I am on moderation, please remove me from moderation.

I don't get to see my replies for a few days.

Thanks in advance.

Smiley!

Anthony

Re: HOW TO SEARCH THE ARCHIVES!!!

2014-02-06 Thread Christopher Chaltain
How are you trying to search the list archive? For example, are you
using the link at the end of each message
http://www.mail-archive.com/viphone@googlegroups.com/ or are you trying
to do it through Google Groups? What problem are you running into?

I just tried to follow the link above, and it timed out on three
different occasions. Maybe there's a problem with the mail archive. Is
this the problem you're having as well?
