Re: Libre 2 and iPhone 12 mini phone cannot activate sensor

2022-08-11 Thread Alex Stone
On my 12 pro max, I’ve found that placing the sensor slightly above the camera
seems to work pretty well.

Re: Libre 2 and iPhone 12 mini phone cannot activate sensor

2022-08-11 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello,

If I remember right the nfc sensor that is needed to utilize the Libre is
located near the top edge of the phone that contains the camera. I had to place
the sensor just to the left of the camera (towards the center of the phone) to
make the scan work properly.

Hi Bill,

Thank you very much for the input. I have to tell you, we had switch to
spectrum for our mobile services. In terms of customer service, it has been
nothing less than a disaster. We are going out of town on Thursday, I asked if
they could expedite a replacement phone. I offered to pay the additional
shipping, no we can’t do that. I had to argue with them to have the $50
restocking fee removed for a defective phone. Not necessarily spectrum‘s fault,
online and in the store they have very little stock. I’ve spent hours on the
phone trying to get everything set up so that when I go in the store to pick up
a replacement phone we’re not there for hours. I get to the store everything
that I discussed with Spectrum Mobile on the phone there is nothing in the
file. My husband says he owes me for the running that I’ve been doing in the
effort that I put into setting up this phone. I have been on the phone
constantly with spectrum Apple and Abbott Laboratories.

I’ll let you guys know how this all works out. I was so disgusted I just
decided to go with the iPhone promax 13. That’s the model I have and I know
that it works with Libre 2.

For those interested, Libre has come out with I believe they’re calling at the
Libre three. The sensors are about the size of a penny. Much much smaller.

Thank you to everyone that has offered suggestions.

Have a great day,

Lynda

2022-08-08 Thread Bill Gallik
Hi Linda & Richard,

Just a thought here, do you live in an area that has an Apple outlet convenient
for you to visit? If so, perhaps you might consider paying that outlet a visit
and asking them to try linking a different iPhone 12 to the Libre.

On the other hand, if you live where it would be terribly hard to visit an
Apple outlet (as I do here in the middle of Bayfield County, WI) I agree that
demanding a replacement iPhone 12 is your best path to correct the question.

Another point here, is there anybody else on this list with an iPhone 12 and
using the Libre CGM? If so and they are not experiencing this problem, then
clearly there is a problem with the iPhone 12 you folks have. But, obviously
you are already aware of that fact.

2022-08-07 Thread Richard Turner
If it is only 5 days old, you clearly have grounds to ask for a replacement.
Or just return it for a refund, then order another one, .

I hope that goes well.

You are exactly right. It’s everybody’s fault but either company. The mini is
only five days old. I think I am going to ask for a replacement. i’m wondering
whether there isn’t something wrong with the chip. Because why wouldn’t AirDrop
work? Maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with that and I’m wrong. However, I
was very specific and following the instructions.

RE: Libre 2 and iPhone 12 mini phone cannot activate sensor

2022-08-07 Thread Richard Turner
Well, I'd go back to Apple and ask them to explain why it works on the 8 and
the 13 pro max but not on the 12 mini?

If they cannot give a satisfactory answer, ask for a supervisor.

You may also need to ask the company that makes the app to talk with Apple if
they will.

This sounds like the old it is their fault, not mine, craziness.

How old is the 12 mini?
If under warranty, ask for a replacement.

Hi Richard,

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It just doesn’t make sense that it will work
on the eight and not the 12 mini. I have a 13 promax and the sensors work
perfectly on that phone.

Apple did run diagnostics on the phone yesterday and said the chip works fine.
I apologize I forget with the chippers it’s the one that helps with Apple Pay
etc. I just can’t figure it out. Do you have any suggestions regarding which
direction I should point Apple in regarding looking at the situation? Because
ultimately when we wound up with their position being that they’re not
responsible for third-party apps.

Thank you.

RE: Libre 2 and iPhone 12 mini phone cannot activate sensor

2022-08-07 Thread Richard Turner
So, the sensors that did not work with the iPhone 12, work with the iPhone 8?

Then, clearly you need to go back to Apple and point out there has to be a
problem with the iPhone 12 if the same sensors are working on the 8.
At least, that seems clear to me.

If the company wants to send you some free senssors, I'd take them, otherwise,
more work on Apple's part seems necessary.
