Thanx for your reply.

I found this phrase in an old document from Applevis:

• You cannot use the VoiceOver rotor to navigate by line when composing an
email in the Mail app.

This bug is still present here. Glad for you not having this issue but I can
confirm it and reported it to Apple. Put the device on/off, hard reset done all
that. In all other circumstances reading line by line is working just fine here.

No issues here at all with dictating a bunch of text in an email and reviewing
it character by character, word by word or line by line.

I was able to move back and forward through the text in my subject field which
said “This is a test using dictation” as well as in the message body where I
just dictated a bunch of stuff which included inserting new lines, new
paragraphs and so on.

If you reported this as a bug already before posting it here, then this is one
example, Davy, where maybe posting it here first would have been a good idea. I
don’t know why you can’t turn your rotor to words or lines after you dictate
your text and then move through it, but I use dictation all the time and in no
version of iOS 13 was it an issue to review my text this way afterwards.

Hi folks

If you want to read mail text line by line, this is broken in ios13. F.E.
supposing you have been dictating and want to correct your own written tekst,
you only can read character by character, word by word but not line by line
which is a much faster and more convenient way to review text.

As ios13.5 has just come out, it is justified to report this issue again if you
had already done that.

Regards

Davy

Mail bug

2015-10-23 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi,

I deleted a ton of email. Now on the home screen, the amount of new email is
decreasing very slowly. It took about a half hour to tell me I had only 6
unread emails. How do I fix this, or is this a bug? I'm running an iPhone 6 s
plus and 9.1. I hope I explained it okay. I went into settings and turned the
badge icon off and on again for PIP settings. This was in notifications. Is
there a work around?
Thanks,
Jenn

Hey Richard,

Thanks so much for posting this fix as I have mail notifications turned off as
I do not want a notification every time I get a mail message. Turning it on and
turning on the badge count did the trick and it says mail notifications is
still turned off, so hopefully this will work. Thanks again

2015-10-22 Thread Les Kriegler
I haven't seen that one either. One improvement I've seen in mail is now
Messages download on the mail app is loaded. Would 9.02, I would start mail in
the mail wouldn't generally come in. As I grew impatient, I would close the app
and re-launch it in the mail came in. Now it's coming in is it supposed to. So
in my opinion, mail is much improved in terms of performance in 9.1.

Ah, FYI,,, a hard reset will clear the ramm memory. This is also something you
can do when power cycling does not fix an issue. A hard reset can be done by
pressing down the wake sleep button and home button in the same time for about
8 seconds.

Hi,
power cycling is simply powering off your device and powering it back on. You
can achieve this by pressing down theee wake sleep button for about 3 seconds
and double tapping on the power off button. Then powering on the device by
pressing and holding the wake sleep button for about 3 seconds as well.

Hello,
I noticed when I open mail from the home screen, it says no unread at first,
but then it rerecognises itself. And yes, before double tapping, I can hear how
meny are unread, too. Oh, what's the power thing people have mentioned? And how
do you do it?

Sent from an iPad using braille screen input. Please excuse any spelling
errors.

2015-10-22 Thread Richard Turner

I just wrote apple accessibility this morning about the fact that the mail icon
on the home screen says "no unread emails" no matter how many unread emails
there are.
They replied in less than 30 minutes with a work around that fixed it for me.
Go into settings, notifications, and make sure mail notifications are on, and
set to badges and then it shows the number of unread emails on the home screen
icon.

Richard, that certainly resolve the issue. Amazing the badges would make that
much of a difference. I had sounds on but not badges. I typically turn badges
off and all of my notifications. Maybe I won't. Thanks.

Hi,
glad to hear that power cycling your device fixed that issue. As far as your
notification count for the mail App not matching the actual number of emails
that you have, will opening the mail App and then closing the mail App by
clicking the home button update the email count? If so, your mail app settings
may be set to fetch emails manually when the app is opened. from the home
screen

not read you the next message you have to flick one way then back to have it

Re: An Old Mail Bug

2015-10-09 Thread Christopher Chaltain
What version of IOS are you running? I used to see this prior to IOS 9,
and it was related to the focus bug. If you touched the Next button
without swiping to it then a double tap might act on an adjacent button,
like the Prev button. I've found this bug to be fixed in IOS 9.

Also, I think the way the Prev and Next button are supposed to work is
that the Mail app remembers what direction you're moving in, so the Prev
and Next button will take you to the next or previous message in that
direction. This may be the opposite of what you're expecting. I don't
notice it now, but it seems that when my iPhone was new to me, this
would always confuse me a bit. IMHO, this wouldn't be a bug if this is
how it's supposed to work.

Re: An Old Mail Bug

2015-10-09 Thread Christopher Chaltain
You are, and since you're not swiping to the Prev button, you might be
hitting that explore by touch focus button in IOS 8. try doing a flick
left and a flick right to get back to the Prev button and double tap.
See if that fixes your issue. This is the work around I used in IOS 8,
but it isn't necessary in IOS 9, since that focus bug has been fixed.

I'll do that. I'm holding off on upgrading to iOS 9, as while Apple's fixed a
lot, they've also messed up some things I rely on quite heavily—but that's nie
here nor there. I'm glad that focus bug's been fixed, though.

Thanks,

Re: An Old Mail Bug

2015-10-08 Thread Mary Otten
I don't think this is an old bug. I thought well, I guess it is an old bug, but
it didn't go away. Focus in the email list has always been wacky. When you get
a new email, of course you don't know this, but the focus switches. Even
sometimes when you delete an email from the middle of the list, the focus is
weird. This has been going on for at least since all of iOS 8.

An Old Mail Bug

2015-10-08 Thread Tom Lange

Hi all. On my iPhone 6 running IOS 9.0.2, I'm noticing an old mail bug that I
haven't seen since IOS 4 or 5 and it's driving me nuts. When I open and read
a message that's in the middle of a long list, then exit back to the list,
focus is often placed at the top of the list and I have to scroll down to where
I left off. The behavior isn't consistent, which is also crazy-making. Is
anybody else out there having this problem? I wrote to Apple Accessibility and
got a reply back saying that they can't reproduce the problem.

a e-mail bug

2014-09-20 Thread Cathy
I have an i-phone 5 and I have updated to the latest version, version 8, and am
having problems and am wondering if this is a bug, and a known bug to Apple. I
am wondering if any one else is having this problem. When I try to share a
contact card to another i-phone owner, it will not let me. I hit the send, and
nothing happens. I love this and really hope this is just a bug. Also when I
was trying to share a picture, i ran into the same problem. I was able to
figure out another way to do it, but I can not figure out how to share a
contact card. Is anyone else having issues like this?

This sounds like a similar problem. Try double tapping and hold and then do
another double tap on the send button and see if that works. Not a great
work around, but in other situations that has worked for me.

Mail bug Orveto bug?

2013-02-02 Thread Jenifer Barr
Hi all.
I've noticed, with the new update, the new iOS update, the VO seems to be
reading one more email message then there actually is. Meaning, if I have no
unread messages in my mail, and I exit, the doc email app always says when new
item. And, if I go back into my email, it has No unread messages. Meaning, the
mail app always seems to think there is an unread message, but in all actually
there isn't. Make sense? Or am I totally off my rocker!
