Re: A Question about Pages

2014-12-17 Thread Mikayla Gephart
I am in high school, and used an Ipad for a pilot program for school. I used to
have that problem, and solved it. I do not know how, as I do not usually use
pages now. I stopped with the Pilot program and that was one of my reasons.
However, I still have one because sometimes I prefer it!

A Question about Pages

2014-12-16 Thread Chris Nusbaum
Hello All,

I am a fairly new member of the list and, as such, I apologize for not doing an
introduction email. To give some background on me, I'm a high school student
from Maryland who you may have seen on some National Federation of the Blind
(NFB) listservs, on which I am also active. Currently I use an iPhone 5C
running iOS 8.1.2. I mostly use my iPhone connected with a Braille display.
Currently I use a BrailleNote Apex for this purpose; however, I will soon
switch to a stand-alone display, probably a Braille Edge.

With this in mind, I have a question about the Pages wordprocessing app. I have
noticed that in Pages a multi-page document will appear with separate text
fields for each page. For example, if a document has 3 pages, 3 separate text
fields will appear. Lately, even if I click on the text field for the second
page, I will remain in the first page and cannot get to the second. Has anyone
else experienced this issue? If so, how can I access the second page of a
document?

Thanks,

Chris Nusbaum

Hi alan,

I don't think you can set it up so that the file syncs with Dropbox
automatically as you work on it, but you can save a file to Dropbox from
Pages. With the document open, choose Tools, then Share and Print. Choose
the option to open the file in another app. You'll next be on a screen where
you select a format. Choose the one you want.

If you chose a format such as Word, a version of the file in that format is
now created. The screen shows the progress of the file creation. This seems
to take quite a while, or at least, it did when I tried saving a fairly
short Pages document as a Word file.

When the file creation process is finished, there's a Choose App button on
screen. Double-tap that. You're now on a screen where you can select the app
in which you want to open the file. Choose Dropbox.

By default, Pages will save to your main Dropbox folder, but you can specify
a folder within Dropbox if you like. Then choose Save, and your file will be
saved in Dropbox.

Hi Krister,

Yes, you can save Pages files in a variety of formats, including Word,
PDF, and ePub. Here are the steps on an iPhone; the process is probably
similar on an iPad, but it may be a bit different.

Open the document you want to export, choose Tools, then choose Share and
Print. Pick how you want to share, such as email or iTunes. On the next
screen, you can select a format by double-tapping the appropriate button.

Here is how to put a file into dropbox:
1. Double tap the edit button.

2. Select the desired file with a double tap.
3. Flick to the action button near the top, and double tap.
4. Double tap the open in another app button.
5. Choose the document format, pages, PDF, or word.
6. Double tap the choose app button after the document is created.
7. Open in drop box will be the only choice, so double tap it.
8. Flick past the save to dropbox heading, and double tap the save button.
9. Dropbox will open, and your document will be in there.

Question About Pages

2012-12-15 Thread Keith Bundy
I have not done much with Pages, so pardon what may be a rather foolish
question. It appears to me that all documents saved in Pages are in one folder
somewhere.

Is there a way to write a document in Pages and put it in another folder on the
iPhone or in Dropbox? Thanks for your thoughts.
