Re: Do iTunes songs automatically download to the phone if you purchase them there?

2014-11-16 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Sieghard,
I was aware of being able to turn off the download to other devices. I was just
kind of hoping that since I have iTunes match, maybe the song wouldn't download
to my phone. I want everything downloaded to my Mac, so I suppose that I just
need to buy the songs that I want there and avoid the problem.

As for other devices, that you can control in Settings, iTunes and App Store
on any iOS device and on the computer in iTunes under Preferences, Store. If
you don't want any purchases made on another device to automatically
download, then turn this off for music and, if you want, for movies and books.

I am pretty sure the answer to this question is no. However, I would like to
know. If I purchased songs using the iTunes Store on my phone, and I have
iTunes match, will my songs that I purchased automatically download to the
phone? How about to my Mac? Where do I go to set this up? I certainly don't
want all the things I buy to just download to the phone.

RE: Do iTunes songs automatically download to the phone if you purchase them there?

2014-11-16 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Mary,

As I said, I don't have iTunes Match so maybe somebody who does can confirm
whether songs you buy on your phone download or not. I know they definitely do
for me. I guess you could turn on automatic downloads in iTunes on your Mac and
if you buy a song from your phone you can delete it again from your phone. Of
course your suggestion to only buy music from your Mac is probably the easiest
solution.
